Even though he's cheap as fuck, I would be VERY disappointed if he doesn't appear in a future title. Sure, his comics weren't that popular and practically no one knew about the character unless they played this game. It just doesn't feel right without him though (same with Kunimitsu).

Well, Roger Jr.'s dad Roger wasn't even really original either. If you can remember a game called Streets of Rage 3 back in 94 or 95.....there was a sub boss called Roo....the boxing Kangaroo. XD. When Tekken 2 came out I was like hey it's a Roo...even though it was Roger.
