  • Once the tomatoes soften add potatoes and cook it for some time, switch off the stove and let it cool badly. Mix yoghurt ONLY when you are sure that its cool. This way you can prevent yoghurt from curdling. I hope this helps

  • Hi girls, even I tired this and i faced the sme prob as al others mentioned. yoghurt curdled and it didnt turn up to our expectations. I kept stirring continuously bt still it curdled.

  • I added full fat yoghurt, but it curdled. Is it because I used curd from the refrigerator? I did beat it well but it was not at room temperature. I was cooking on a medium flame. Please suggest how to prevent this.

  • At anytime that you are adding yogurt to a warm/hot dish, always make sure it is room temp. or take a little bit of the gravy in a bowl and add yogurt to it, mix well and then add to the pan...Hope that helps!

  • this looks soooo good...i'm going to make it for my boyfriend for his birthday. wish me luck!

  • hi , ur recipes are simply superb!!

i made this potato-yogurt gravy, but it turned a bit sour, may be due to yogurt...i live in india, due to the climate, the yogurt gets sour..pls suggest me a way to prevent this..i saw ur video of making yogurt which we do it daily..it was good..

pls help me out..and wat is paprika..is it red chili pdr.

    with love,

    Aish

  • You can add a little milk to the yogurt to make it milder. Paprika is red bell pepper (capsicum) powder. It is used mainly for color and is not spicy like red chili powder.

  • always to get rid of sour you could use half a spoon of baking soda. it will neutralizse the acidity

  • even better is smoked paprika!!

  • please, what is the point of beating the yogurt?

i just made it and it was nice, but the yogurt curdled badly and so the dish did not look very appetising, but the taste was still good.

seems other people had the same problem, so maybe tell us what type of yogurt to use in future dishes.

thanks so much and greetings from london.

  • Mine too curdled. But I tried adding half tablespoon of gram flour to the oil and fried it. (before adding the tomatoes). It turned out fine. hope it helps.

  • "Gringer"????

  • i love the red "karchi" you use in ur videos.. what's the actual name of it.. if it has one lol..

and where had u bought it from?

    i LOVE ur recipes!!!!

  • We've had a lot of questions about that. Unfortunately, there is no manufacturer name written on it, it was bought a long time ago and we've not seen it anywhere recently. Sorry.

  • Here are some of the dishes that freeze very well. Rajma Daal Makhani Green Moong Daal Channas Masur Daal Daal with Spinach Lima Beans Curry Adai Batter Sambar Tomato Chutney Pav Bhaji (not just the bhaji, even the Pav) Parathas - Missi, Spinach,Methi, Aloo, Gobi, .... Hope that helps:)
  • Hi Hetal & Anuja .. how long does this dish remain fresh when kept in refrigirator and can i freeze this curry and use later?? plz tell me

  • It will remain in the fridge for 3-4 days. This is not a good curry to freeze as the texture of the potatoes and yogurt will not hold up.

  • So Yummy!! I used Lowfat yogurt as Im trying to watch my fat and calories and my yogurt curdled, but I already knew that might happen, even still sooooo good! And easy too!! Thanks girls for the recipe!!

  • It does curdle a little. To reduce curdling, keep stirring it once you have added the yogurt :)

  • Can I use suger instead of Jaggery?

  • Jaggery has a bit of different flavor than plain sugar, but if you don't have it, it is ok to use regular sugar or even brown sugar.

  • I wish you guys were on Food Network...your program would be so much more interesting than some of their same-old-same-old crap.

  • Thank you for sharing your recipe, I tried it good and it came out great!!!!

  • thankyou... u guys are doing a great job!!!!

    awesome recepies

  • Thanks! I'll try this.

  • yestrday i prepared this curry and it came out excellent,i cudnt believe myself.but i faced one problem, after i added wisked yougurt it got curdled i dnt knw y,it happens always with me when ever i add yougurt, pls suggest me...

  • higher fat yogurt is less likely to curdle. so if you used lowfat, you could try whole-milk yogurt. Alternatively, add a little of the gravy to the yogurt first to bring it up to temperature slowly, then add that yogurt mixture to the rest of the gravy. Hope this helps.

  • hey Thanq so muchhhhhhhh sure ll try this method now....

  • thank you

  • thank you! -- looks delicious...really appreciate all the effort you put into making these videos (am a vegetarian, so love these veg dishes!) :-)
