My brother viciously killed himself by pouring gasoline on himself and lit himself on fire because of psychiatric drug withdrawals. The suffering was too much for him to handle. My brother died a violent torturous death all because of psychiatrists brainwashing and tricking him coercing him that he needed mind altering drugs for minor anxieties that they called a disease. RIP Michael i love you. God is looking after you. The psychiatrists who did this to you will be burning in hell for eternity.

Anxiety can be easily helped with proprioceptive stimulating exercises and nobody except those of us with autistic and sensory processing kids know this! This is a crime of humanity that this brother died so horribly when he could have been helped with his anxiety with things such as yoga, theraputic massage, compression and weighted blankets and vests... I lost a dear brother in law to a Prozac suicide. He told my sister he didn't feel right on it but shortly after he was gone. This was a highly educated and very helpful guy who was loved by so many. I wish he had been more educated about the risks and that the black box label could have been placed on this dangerous drug much earlier than it was. I hope this posted comment will save some lives and sham on the psychiatrists who are still prescribing these.

It is important to grasp the idea that correlation does not imply causation. While these people who were responsible for the school shootings were on psychiatric medication that does not mean that the medications caused them to commit those crimes. It would be far more accurate to say that their medications were not effective at treating their mental illness and as a result these maladjusted folks took the lives of others.

I understand what you were trying to say but my point is this, most drugs people take are not natural, but that doesnt mean they dont work. I hate the hippie-type that think that just because something is not natural means it's not useful. Biology has created some awesome chemicals, but it has also created lots of chemicals that will kill you quickly. Every drug that is on the market goes through an intensive screening process to test for efficacy and safety.

So the only reason a drug is on the market is because it works for most people. It doesn't mean is completely safe, but though, which means it needs post-marketing surveillance. It may be true that some anti-depressants contributed to school shootings, but you cant say "because they're correlated means x caused y" -- this is the first thing you learn in a stats class. And that is why scientists use experiments-to control for other variables.

What you are failing to realize is that many studies exists demonstrating causation, not correlation, and there are thousands of documented cases of persons who have never expressed any type of violent behavior suddenly becoming violent after beginning treatment on psychotropic medication. Same thing with suicide. There are plenty of studies which control for correlation and still demonstrate statistical evidence of causation.
