this is public land! it will not be enjoyed by the public if it's closed off. i'm all for responsible use but calling everything "wilderness" is bad for the country. it will kill the local economies that depend on tourism. did you think of the fact that people cut dead trees for fire wood and that in turn supresses fires. think 1988 yellowstone fire. too much fuel and the fire went crazy. it took the largest fire fighting effort in american history to keep it from destroying the park.
