  • Dose SSC build thier own motors? Or do they use a Ford or a Chevy block or something?

  • @dime6664ever they used to use Chevrolet V8s but this one has their own SSC designed V8.

  • nice...what a POS redneck Veyron. Tough luck America, Europe is better than you at making cars, always was always will be...you can embarrass yourselves all you want...wont change a thing. I mean Europe: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Maserati, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, McLaren...all pedigree sport car manufacturers with motor racing history going back decades...anf the US makes this POS. bahahahahaha

  • @clickclackblauw: You can have your so called "better cars" and we will just keep making faster ones. And we are gonna do it without the need of a petrol hogging W16 motor. The SSC Ultimate Aero, the SSC Ultimate Aero II, and whats gonna be the world's first production 300mph supercar, the Dagger GT are all examples of great american performance engineering.

  • Haha this is the typical hateful bullshit out of you people. ALWAYS hostile, ALWAYS bragging. Never too shy to hail shit that doesnt even exsist to the skies. At what point does it get embarrassing ? The Dagger GT is a 3D computer rendering and a webpage asking for money to build it. The Aero 2 is also asking for money to build it. And so fucking what. Who wants a car that can only do 1 thing. When are people ever going to do 250 mph or more. Try making good cars instead... Just ONE good car.

  • @Janusha: Every car has 3 d renderings and computer drawings when their in alpha stage you idiot. What you think people only plan cars in their heads??? Knowing your lack of inteligence and your Wal-Mart education you actually do belive that. I actually met and got to talk with Transtar in person. You see, unlike you I actually have the basic intelligence needed to do actual REAL research.

  • @Janusha Shut up like i told you try macking your own car manufacture and stop talking shit about american cars

  • Oh look.. a lamborghini diablo "inspired" car with a corvette engine. How very orignial.

  • @Janusha Oh look... a pathetic imbicilic troll that has nothing better to do than look for thing on youtube to ridicule. I wish the world had more people like you; oh wouldn't it be wonderful.

  • Hey.. look up "lamborghini inspired vehicles" in google and you find these jokers at Kitcars dot com. They are nothing more than a glorified kitcar company. Jokes on them. Not me for noticing.

  • @Janusha

SSC *used* to build Diablo kit cars, but they no longer do. This car was designed and built from the ground up. It's understandable that it looks similar to a Diablo when Mr. Shelby spent so long working with them.

The engine, on the other hand, is a Corvette *based* engine. It is still a completely custom cast block, not something you can buy from JEGS or anything like that.

  • This thing is nothing but a home built glorified kitcar which they managed to sell 8-10 of to largely ultra rich arabs that already have all the other supercars in the world. Nearly no americans ever bought one. When it comes to their next car.. The Ultimate Aero II, its nothing but an empty shell and some computer renderings. They are already claiming wooorld records even before the car is built.

  • @Janusha: The Bugatti Veyron SS is nothing but an overpriced 2.5 million dollar VW with plastic paddle shifters.

  • Hahaha idiot.

  • @Janusha: Since you are so stupid to understand the difference between a kit car and a production car, then the 2.5 million dollar Veyron SS with its plastic paddle shifters is a kit car. And the Koenigsegg Agera is also a kit car. And as for as the Ultimate Aero II. I guess you are gonna keep hoping and praying it never gets built. Ignorant trash like you I have no respect for.

  • You are a flagwaving fuckwith that spews hate and misinformation. Please go and be dumb somewhere else.

  • @Janusha: A flagwaver trying to call someone else a flagwaver?? Your trolling on american car videos is legendary. No one even have to call you a flagwaving troll. Because all they gotta do is watch an american car video, scroll down and you'll see some girl named Janusha trolling the video. You have truly proved your own ignorance.

  • The difference is.. If I comment on any other topics. Politics, economy, cars, military issues. There might be a discussion but ONLY when the topic is american cars, american military, american economy does it explode in hate, bullshit and death treats in my inbox. Im sure this "america vs the woooorld" thing you guys got going is all very entertaining but dont fucking accuse ME of waving the flags here.

  • @Janusha: Look around you dumbass. You are commenting negatively about an american car on an american car video. What the hell you do expect????? Do you think If I went to Norway and started comenting negative things about Norway that I would get away with it? No one would threaten me?? Bull shit. You are the absolute definition of the word "troll". You don't come on these videos, talk shit about the car in the video and don't expect the fans of that car to not be upset at you.

  • Americans mix nationalism into cars and answer any hint of criticism with OMG YOU HATE AMERICA. This comes from americas pathologic aversion towards any foreign influence and the fact that the big3 spent decades linking their cars to THE AMERICAN DREEEAM. Now that their cars kinda suck, its a sore topic. I understand that. But grow the fuck up. Infact if america and americans had the ability to accept criticism or look abroad, you might not be in all this shit that you are these days.

  • @Janusha: You never even bothered to answer any of my questions which just proved im right. Secondly, American cars suck in your opinion. But they are the best "bang for your buck deal" out there. Examples? American cars get better fuel economy than european cars in their hp class. We can go 200mph what having the need to spend 200grand. Even some of GM's pushrod motors are lighter and get better fuel economy than soome ero OHC engines of the same HP. If american cars suck, then so does euros.

  • So while Im talking about cars, you are lashing out in anger on behalf of FREEDOM AND LIBERTYYY. Waving flags for your nationality. In a way its sad that the american car industry has fallen so far from grace that you now need to hail these flawed homebuilt kitcars to the skies inorder to find a positive angle to american cars.

  • @Janusha: I'm not angry at all. I just enjoy entertaining your incompetance.

  • @Janusha: The Dagger GT will exist for one purpose and one purpose only. And no those idiots from Vector with have nothing to with this car. But this car will exist to be the #1 high performance supercar of all time. Breaking topspeed records, lap records, braking, cornering, and any other record they can find. If some other car comes along and breaks its record, then they will Just build a faster Dagger GT. This car is being backed by so many racing legends there is no way i can name them all.

  • Hahaha... Im not going to bother with you. Except to tell you once again. The Dagger GT DOESNT EXSIST. And even if they build it... There is no technology in the world that can keep 2000-3000 hp on the road. Certainly not out of america where they never ever built a single supercar.

Pushrods are better.. hahaha yeah. You keep telling yourselves that while the rest of the world moves on. They tell you they are better.. because thats all they got. And fuel efficency. hahaha another joke.

  • @Janusha: Once again. LEARN HOW TO READ. I never said pushrods are better. I said we have pushrods that are lighter and more fuel efficient than some euro motors of the same HP. And for the record we also make OHC motors. No surprise to me at all that you didn't know that.

  • @Janusha: "Americans mix nationalism into cars"

And who the hell doesn't?? Are you seriously trying to sit there and tell me that european, Japanese and Italian automakers don't take pride in their heritage?? Don't be such a fool.

  • @Janusha: And for the Dagger. What do you mean there is no tech in the world that can handle 2000 to 3000hp?? I guess you never heard of racing slicks and drag radials. The street legal version of this car is gonna be around 1300 to 1400 hp. And of course it doesnt exist yet. Do you even know what alpha stage is?????? I mean seriously. What do you know? Talking to you is like talking to a child. Its obvious that you are not on my level of knowledge about cars. But damn.

  • Hahaha idiot. Alpha stage my ass. They are asking for money. Thats their stage. Begging for funds. But who in their right mind would invest in that. Ridiculous numbers that cannot work in real life. The Veyron did it because they spent 5 years of ridicoulously expensive research and development. If you had even read these jokers webpage you would know that they are going to skip all that. Not spent a dollar on research and development. They are going to use exsisting parts from exsisting cars.

  • Especially for the purpose of not having to do any crash testing, research or development. So... another silly project then. Even if they DO produce it, its just going to be another single purpose monstrosity that rips parts out of a Corvette. Fucking hurrah for redneck supercars.

Instead of chasing silly records and hunting extremes.. Like Ive said 10 times now, why not instead focus on making a good car. Learn to walk before attempting to run with the big boys.

  • @Janusha: "Instead of chasing silly records and hunting extremes.. Like Ive said 10 times now, why not instead focus on making a good car."

The records wasn't so silly when europe pwned them all. Now all of a sudden that America is aiming at them, its a problem. Now the records are silly. If you think the records are silly, tell Porche to stop releasing a new Porche everytime someone else sets a record on the Nurburgring. Records don't seem so silly to them.

  • @Janusha: They are asking for money? Hmmm I wonder where did Bugatti get their money from. And what existing parts from what existing cars are you talking about?? Let me see if you have at least some basic knowledge. Come on. Go.

  • You talk big words at the wrong person dude. I wrote a big thing on the Nurburgring once and did my research. Im going to guess you didnt. Porsche has had permanent settlement at the Nurburgring for 50 years... Because guess what. Its in germany. You may brag all you like but nobody has ever gone quicker than a Porsche around there. You are just spamming bullshit and standard american hate. Put the flag down. Ive heard enough patriotic spam.

  • @Janusha: Everybody knows Porche has been there for over 50 years. You tried to say that no one cares about records. Its like I said, every time someone breaks a Porche record there. Porche always release a new model and take back their record. The only person that don't care about records is you whenever an american car is involved. And what hell do you mean flag waving??? I'm not biased against cars from othr countries the way you are. I'm a big fan of certain japaneese cars and italians,

  • Why cant americans spell Porsche.. If america ever produces the real thing without faking it and over hyping it, Ill be the first to congratulate. To this day, that hasnt happened.

  • @Janusha: Thats because your 3 year old brain don't know the difference between a production car and a kit car. We have already established that.

  • I dont call the SSC Aero a kit-car because it arrives in a box and you need to build it yourself. However if you go to Kitcars dot com, you will find them there under "Lamborghini inspired vehicles" address and all. Their only qialification for making this thing was that they used to make Lamborhini replica kits and amazingly used that very same kit-car as base for their homebuilt SSC Aero. Which is why its got the exact same proportions of a 90s Diablo. Production car my ass. They made 10-15.

  • @Janusha: Actually they made just over 25 Ultimate Aeros. Secondly, everyone knows that the Ultimate Aero was built based on a diablo platform. Jerod Shelby has never hid that fact. (Atleast not in any of the interviews I've seen him in). And as far as sales, there is no proof of sales anywhere. It doesn't matter if you made 25 cars or 1,000,000 cars. Numbers in between there doesn't determine whether a car is a production car or not.

  • @Janusha: So I guess Aston Martin, Koeniggsegg, and Pagani are also kit cars in your eyes. None of these cars started on their own platforms or mechanical components either.

  • They CLAIM 25 cars. Which is wrong. They CLAIM to use a Diablo platform but in my company back in the day we had 2 Diablos... They dont have a "platform" and Ive been to the Lambo factory in St Agatha Bolognese and they dont have a stack of "Lambo frames" lying around from the 90s. There is no such thing. Its their own kit-car platform made to look like a Lambo. I also have a friend at the Koenigsegg factory. You are throwing big words at the wrong person. They MAKE the best instead of CLAIM.

  • @Janusha: You say they only claimed 25 but didn't even make them. Jerod Shelby himself stated that they are over 25 which is a big reason why the Aero II is already on its way and already have buyers lined up. Where is your proof that they didn't even build the required 25??? Secondly, I dont care what platform was used to build the original Aero, because that doesnt determine whether or not a car is a production car or not.

  • @Janusha:Koenigsegg make great cars i agree. But they started out just like SSC did. They used different engines and other mechanical parts as well. That was not manufactured by Koeniggsegg. So did Aston Martin when they first started. So like I said, these cars must also be kit cars too IN YOUR OPINION.

  • @V8Supercar1

I know this stuff.. you havent even bothered to read the spam on their own webpages much less check the "facts". You love these things simply because they are american. You have never seen a car or seen it perform. Same goes for all the american amateurish auto press. None of them have ever roadtested it. Its all hearsay and lose rumours. The most recent wild claim from your lame auto-press is that Mercedes SLS stole their car from Viper. You just cant believe such bullshitters.

  • @Janusha: Mercedes stole their car from Viper?? lol Who the hell claimed that. I've told you once and I'll tell you again. I like american cars and also certain japaneese and certain italian ones. Mostly because they are lot more exciting than a lot of euro cars. As far as the Ultimate Aero. I've seen them road tested on few different occasions. One I saw in person. As far as supercars. I dont care about name brand and history and all that crap. I care about the actual quality and excitment.

  • Put "Viper AMG SLS" in google and you find hundreds of (mostly) american car sites all going with this ridiculous claim. All adding their own angle and spinning stories to make it more credible. None of them checks their sources or stops to think how unlikely this is. Just like they ran with the faked Nurburgring laps, just like they all hailed this kit-car SSC to the skies. I dont care what kids spam on forums but these lies come from the actual US-motor press. Started by Motortrend.

  • @Janusha: Come to think about it. The SLS and the viper looks kinda similar. But what does it matter? We all know Chrysler and Mercedes has been working together for years anyway. Secondly which faked nurburgring laps are you talking about? The ZR-1, the Viper ZCR, and CTS-V has all been verfied. So which cars am I missing??

  • We all know Chrysler wasnt working on a 250 000 dollar replacement for the Viper right in the middle of their financial troubles. Who would pay that for a dodge. Everyone can see thats a lie. My point was... The fact that they are lies dont stop them from printing feel-good-about-american-cars stories. Just like those faked Nurburgring lap times and other wild claims. The complete lack of independant US motor press allows these wild rumours and patrotic hype to be accepted as truth.

  • @Janusha: To me sounds like a bunch of rumors. Which those kinds of rumors I dont buy into. Because the only people that really know the complete truth is Mercedes and Chrysler. But it wouldn't surprise me considering how much work they have done together over the decades. Who knows what really happened?? Especially since the Viper is currently being reworked as ordered by Fiat. Fiat believes the Viper is an important branding piece for the Dodge brand name.

  • If Fiat changed their minds about the Viper then fine. But what they said was that Fiat already owns Ferrari so why would they continue the Viper. There were talk of continuing Viper as its own brand. However it died because people stopped buying it. So is there really a market? ONLY americans ever bought it and while they love to boast it to the skies, only 400 were sold in 2007 and Chrysler tried selling the brand off already before its financial troubles and Fiat takeover.

  • Viper was popular for its enormous engine and low pricetag. However modernising it, adding tech, quality, handling and style which is expected now days will put it in a price bracket where there is already a hell of alot of competition. On the other hand, sellig it as a low tech musclecar will limit it to the US market only.

As for what Chrysler and Mercedes did. Its all available info. Most chryslers got Mercedes platforms and Mercedes got very little in return. So Mercedes pulled out.

  • @Janusha: They are NOT on my list of top 5 sports cars. excuse me. Chrysler is getting left behind as for as engine quality its dissapointing. The new Challenger will have a 6.4 liter V8 that only produces 460HP. They need to dump the pushrod, and switch to OHC like Ford has. Ford's got a new 5.0 liter V8 that produces 440HP. A 3.5 liter V6 that produces 305HP, and a 3.7 liter ecoboost V6 that produces 400HP. Thats a big difference in quality in my opinion. Chyrsler is still drowning.

  • @Janusha: Vipers should only be sold here in the U.S. Because europeans will not justify the price tag considering its more expensive for them to buy than us. Vipers are sports cars, they are not supercars. If they were, then they should come with a 200 thousand dollar price tag and a better interior. One thing you will learn about me is I'm not a huge fan a Vipers. They are ok. But they are on my list of top 5 sports cars. (Unnecessarily big 8.3 liter engine, and horrible top end acceleration.)

  • I dont understand what enginesize has got to do with quality. They dont put 6.4 litre engine into a Challenger because it makes the car good. Its there to all patriotic over. A centrepiece to focus on while totally forgetting the cars complete lack of other features. Challenger is just a redressed Chrysler C300. Which again is a 15 years old Mercedes. They did nothing to it except dress it up as a musclecar and insert the enormous engine. Its cheap price reflects its buildquality and handling.

  • And 400 hp out of 6.4 liters ? Thats really really low. Im sure the car doesnt need any more but if it was built in Europe, it would get 400hp easily out of a half size flat 6 or even a turbo 4 cylinder. To save weight, to improve handling, acceleration and mpg. But those things arent important in USA. Only size and price. Big and cheap.

  • @Janusha: Flat 6? turbo 4 cylinder?? You have to remember, a big part about sports cars is excitement. And V8s and V10s are more exciting any day of the week. Secondly, we have drastically improved the weight, durability and fuel efficiency of our V8s over the years. And we are improving in HP to liter ratios. Ford's 5.0 liter now makes 440HP, GM's LSX can make 700hp N/A. And Iconic motors has a 6.9 liter N/A 825 HP V8. But Chrysler is just losing touch with reality everyday.

  • Are you telling me European sportscars arent exciting? truck engines are for trucks. As for fuel efficency... What you get out of these old pushrods is laughable. Once again thats an area where the US car companies lie to you. While they may brag about 25 mpg out of the Corvettes... When my friend hired one in USA, he managed to get 6 mpg out of it. I should perhaps point out that americans have different miles and different gallons so that their MPG claims are misleading.

  • @Janusha: Some european sports cars are not exciting. Mainly Porsche. That doesn't mean they are bad cars. A proper manual gear box, an exciting sounding engine and rear wheel drive is more exciting than flat six engines, paddle shift, and awd. Mercedes cars are still exciting though. The new SLS engine sound almost remind me of an 68 Dodge Charger.

  • @Janusha: Here in the U.S you cant lie about mpg ratings, its against federal law regulations. Your friend says he got 6 mpg out of it?? lol Thats funny. If your so called friend actually did get so little. Why wasn't he smart enough to file suit against GM for lying? He would have won so much money. Your friend is obviously wrong.

  • I think youll find suing random people for miniscule details is an all american sport. Just like claiming big numbers. They can lie all they want because nobody is actually going to check up on it. When they lie, they dont just fabricate a random number. They lie by modifying the truth. Im sure the car CAN pull off those MPG figures under certain circumstances. Then they replicate those circumstances and get a reading. That doesnt mean you will achieve that in real life driving.

  • Then its just a matter of how much effort they want to put into those circumstances. Like forexample feeding the engine with higher % oxygen air for it to burn cleaner and more efficent fuels.. Im sure there are a list of tricks. The old 93 Octane you call fuel over there isnt even legal here. And like I said.. Just like you have different inches, foot, yards and pounds, you also have different miles and gallons. England has Empirical and you use a derived system called the U.S. customary units

  • @Janusha If you have ever experienced this car first hand your opinion would be drastically different than it is right now. The car is certified to do over 258mph. The next generation car is going to do even more and is by far the most radical car on the market when it comes out. The claims on this car show how little you actually know. Read the article Top Gear did on this very car. Then come back and make some better informed opinions.

  • Who HAS experienced it first hand?? They only managed to sell what.. 10-12. in 5 years. Thats not even enough to stay in business. Nobody heard a word from them since 2007.

I get TopGear into my mailbox every month along with EVO and CAR so Im informed. They are usually very nice to up-coming companies. Such as Zenvo, Hennessey Venom, NobleM600. The real criticism comes when they drive the real thing. If you read the article, the words "kit-car quality interior" and "pointless" was used.

  • Also when EVO magazine tried contacting SSC to do an interview, they called, left messages, e-mailed for weeks but their conclusion was that nobody was at work there. The company seemed inactive. Im sure they werent bankrupt but were out looking for investors. Then EVO tried contactig the 71 year old test driver that did the record run but he had since died in a crash. They SSC has never been properly roadtested or reviewed. They prefer the wild rumours and patriotic hype that surrounds it.

  • @Janusha Actually autocar reviewed it

  • Yeah I saw that. Their conclusion was:

"You could argue that around £335k is a ludicrous sum of money for a left-hand-drive car with no heritage, dated appearance, build quality on a par with a 1980s TVR and all the luxury of a small Malaysian hatchback."

They werent very impressed. TopGear aswell have driven it and questioned its exsistance when they got wheelspin up to fourth gear with no control. The next Ultimate Aero 2 should have been out 8 months ago now. Probably wont ever happen.

  • @Janusha A month ago i would have agreed with you however, after i had spoken to Jerod Shelby, i completely changed my tune. He said that he was aware of problems in the first few years of building but he was building them out of his shed and all he promised clients was a very fast car, which he delivered. However, the 2009 and 2010 models have exceptional build quality and he has found ways to put the power down so that when he took the car out to Dubai....

  • @edtri19 they raced a Veyron along a motorway and the Aero absolutely destroyed the Veyron. The New one is coming out end of 2012 for the first customer delivery btw

  • @edtri19

Sure everybody gotto start somewhere but what I disapprove of are the lies, patriotic hype and wild claims. Comparing themselves to Bugatti Veyron from the start may have been kind of over ambitious when you are building cars in a shed without a budget. If they had been open and honest about stuff the whole way, they might have even got some credibility instead of counting on the hype and hopes of the flagwaving masses to carry them into supercar stardom. Didnt really work for them.

  • @Janusha They wanted the speed record, not to beat the Bugatti. The bugatti is amazing because anyone can take it to the max yet the Aero is a pure racing car + Jerod built the car and broke the record before hyping it up. The fact is that few americans actually built the car, it was mainly Arabs, the car is actually relatively unknown in the USA.

  • @Janusha I guess what im trying to say is that i would rather the SSC existed as a beacon of hope for boutique manufacturers, rather than no SSC and Bugatti domination + without the Aero, there would be no super sport

  • The Bugatti Veyron is amazing for a number of reasons. Most of which cannot be mentioned in the same sentence as this homebuilt, single purpose monstrosity. God damnit if I build a car in my own garage out of largely parts lifted out of other, exsisting cars, Im not going to go comparing it to our generations pinnacle of automotive excellence. Even with a woooorld record to its name, they sold what.. 10-12 cars ? Like you said, mainly to arabs that already have every Ferrari inthe book.

  • Because in Arabia, the car culture is young and their traditions are different. Also it helps that they have more money than sense. In Arabia the amount of hp = how good the car is as a status object. The more hp, the better. Every other statistics in a car is completly secondary to how much hp its got. Thats the arab car culture. The Hennessey Venom is also aiming at this bunch of people. Trouble however in basing your sales on these guys is that there is a total of 20 of them.

  • @Janusha Well at the end of the day, some guy in his shed beat a car with millions of euros of R and D. Im not american but i admire this car. In fact, why don't you go build a car to beat this, then if you do, you can troll on all of these videos

  • Thing is. If the Veyron had done 270 mph, the ssc would simply have had to do 1 more. Speed on its own is nothing new. Just like these highly questionable american Nurburgring lap times, these records are only available with relatively basic cars because nobody is really chasing them. Porsche, Ferrari. Lambo, all the established names are refreshingly disconcerned with top speeds that you cannot actually pull off in real life. They started doing 200 mph in the 80s and dont go any faster today.

  • @Janusha Well i agree that speed is not everything however, this car also performs the slalom exercise 6mph quicker than the Bugatti. However, the Porsche 959 pulled out a 6 :16 on the Nurburgring in the 1980s, i dont see why the Zonda R is so special when you can buy 959s that quick which are street legal, seems the combustion engine has takena giant step backwards

  • Like I said. Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari started doing 200 mph in the late 80s and dont go any faster today. Except in the 80s they had 2.9 liter engines. Today they have atleast twice that. Because what HAS changed since the 80s is styling, build quality, alot more technology, handling and safety. All this adds weight and therefore engines have grown exponentially. If Viper were honest and compared their lap times to other racecars, they wouldnt look so impressive compared to 70s and 80s laps.

  • @Janusha As i said, it does not matter that they could do it, the fact that the havnt makes the SSC exciting + fun. I wish there were more boutique vehicle manufacturers, we could have a lot more cool cars

  • Im saying its a homebuilt, redressed, overhyped Lambo Diablo replica kit with an enormous GM engine sprinkled with patriotism. that they also didnt make. That dont make them boutique cars in the same sense that Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Zonda is. However I have always wondered why americans dont build supercars or upper quality cars at all.

Surely now that GM has hit the reset button, nothing prevents them from re-emerging as a quality brand except their determination not to. It aint rocketscience.

  • Like I said.. Im all for people trying and doing their best in their sheds at home but it just goes horribly wrong when they start putting forth bold lies, patriotic spam and wild claims. Like claiming full carbon car... except the roof, bonnet, doors and the fact that its using a steel tubular chassis as seen in racecars since the 60s. Its very likely only THE car used is able to replicate its top speed anyway. The fact that its based off a Lambo Diablo replica kit doesnt inspire confidence.

  • @Janusha The prototype was based off of a diablo sure, but i just love the fact that he had a dream and went for it. I would buy one if i had the money any day over a bugatti or a koenigsegg

  • At first they claimed to use licenced Diablo frames. However in my company back in the day when I lived in England, had 2 Diablos (and other similar stuff) and I can promise you a diablo doesnt have a "frame" and Ive been to the Lambo factory. They dont have a bunch of 90s frames lying around. Further digging brought me to a page called Kitcars dot com which revealed a "lamborghini inspired vehicle" a replica kit they used to make. Which is the basis for this monstrosity.

  • Just like the Hennessey Venom claiming their car is only 20% Lotus while you actually first have to buy an Exige and drive it to their factory where its modded. Then shipped to america and sold as an american product. Like Tesla Roadster that claims their car is 7% Lotus Elise while infact its made entirely at the Lotus factory in Norfolk and shipped to California where they simply insert the engine and batterypack that they also didnt make, inorder to call it an all american electric car.

  • Like I said... Its all good that they try. Atleast they could offer diversity so we dont all have to drive german or japanese but for christs sakes... Their attempts are simply not viable. Vector, Saleen S7, SSC, Mosler and I believe thats the entire list, all go down the same route. Steel tubular chassis as seen in racecars since the 60s, prefabricated raceparts, lift tranny, gearing, engine, everything down to the cupholders out of other cars, sell 10-20 to diehard enthusiasts and go bankrupt.

  • @Janusha And? Everyone had to start somewhere, Koenigsegg were using Ford engines until very recently whilst Pagani are using MBZ engines, nothing wrong with using the expertise from other countries. The fact is, the Ultimate Aero is the realisation of a dream and it is pretty damn successful if you ask me. IDC if my car has a big yank engine in it, if it runs well then ill be happy

  • The big difference is... Koenigsegg never started out by building shit and claiming it was the real thing. They were always the real thing even when they couldnt afford to make their own engines. They have used their own engines the last 7 years. I know them and visit them from time to time. Pagani has their engines made especially for them by AMG, Mercedes performance division at great expense. They arent simply lifting Mercedes engines out of exsisting cars to save a dollar.

  • Again its all fine to start somewhere. Corvettes, Mustangs, Vipers, most american cars start out as garbage and as they catch a public appeal, gradually evolve into decent cars. Viper however waited til their last 20 cars before turning them from rubbish, into a trackday / race car. There seems to be very little ambition and investment into niche vehicles in USA. Now that hundreds of thousands in their car industry lost their jobs, you would think new companies would rise. But so far, nothing.

  • @Janusha Name me one thing that Jerod Shelby claimed that he did not deliver? He built the car before he claimed anything. Also, the engines used in Pagani cars are used in MBZ cars (Zonda R uses CLK GTR engine) and the others are simply slightly altered than the ones found in the AMG division. Also Koenigsegg claim to have the fastest cars in the world yet they have not delivered so apart from perhaps interior quality, i see very little difference between the CCXR and the Ultimate Aero

  • Their claims that they did not deliver.. Oh where do I start. How about the worlds fastest electric car. They promised on their webpage amazing technology that would give 1000 electric hp that would do 250 mph and need recharging once every 3 years by 2009. Guess what. 2009 came and went. If they really had this tech, they would be idiots for not selling it to GM for one of Obamas billions but obviously its all vapourware. Either way it makes them look unserious.

  • Then there is claiming all carbon car when it really isnt. Claiming Lambo frames when infact its their own replica Lambo lookalike kit. Claiming fastest production car in the wooorld based on 1 car going quick once in 2007. Before they had made enough cars to qualify for "production" car. Lying about 25 fake car orders inorder to appear more appealing to investors. Apparently it turned out to be a federal offense to lie to Forbs Magazine about prestanda that they had not achieved.

  • To be fair however most of these ridiculous claims come from the amateurish american motoring press. Their magazines get ever thinner and more desperate for hype and stories while advertisers move to the net. American net based motoring press are only marginally less amateurish. Flagwaving and believing, having faith is far more important than facts. All quoting eachother and all adding their twist to the story. Most of which never saw the car. Certainly didnt road tested it.

  • @Janusha Well in terms of performance, it delivered. I bet you all cars would do 270 MPH but i obviously have no way of proving it to you. I like it, you don't, thats fine, this conversation has gone on too long anyway

  • Im not on some quest to discredit american cars. I just dont like the lies and patriotic spam everything american recieves. Its not just the SSC Aero. Look at the Dagger GT, Vector WX8, GT Malan, Devon GTX, Rossion Q1, Revenge Verde, Hennessey Venom, Scorpion, Falcon, all either kitcars, hopeless projects asking for money or tuneshop jobs. ALL using the Corvette engine. All claiming best in the world. In their illusions of grandeur they mistake this amateur league with the real thing.

  • @Janusha So what if it is a homebuilt glorified kit car i love the bugatti and i never talk shit about it like you are talking shit about the ssc and the oyher american cars.

just shut up man cars are cars no matter which country they are made all of them have an engine, four wheels, and a fucking steering wheel.and those are the main parts of cars if you don't have those parts how the fuck you will move from point A to B.I respect all cars no matter which country they are made

  • @carbonfiber1995

There is nothing shit to say about a Bugatti. This isnt about nationalism. The SSC Aero was built on a Lamborghini Diablo replica kit and is a home built project. Dont confuse amateur league with the real thing.

  • @Janusha it looks like Lamborghini Diablo of coarse but Lambourgini was own by chrysler.

And caddilac was the first to come up with the 16cyl engine from the 1930s.the lambourgini diablo was based up from the the cizeta v16.but chrysler didnt like the design so they redesign the cizeta whit a more genuine look which is now known as the lambourgini diablo.Just look it up on google if you look at the Diablo and the cizeta v16 you will see the resemblance

  • yup cost $2 gas to start up hahaha
