Wavedash was deconfirmed months ago back at E-4-all, so you won't have to worry about that. New air dodge mechanics (aka no directional air dodging) makes it not possible.

Diddy definitely seems to be lacking good KO moves, but I still cant wait to play as him. And that cypher seems to constently screw over Snake
