@77tubuck okay let me get this right you are telling me that the way that you know the truth of something is if you can google something that disagrees with it and that therefore confirms your belief? I could literally type in anything to google about anything and find something that supported it, that is why it is called the world wide web it includes every piece of trash, garbage, blog, conspiracy theory, you name it and as such gives a range between accurate and extremely inaccurate results.
jacquelinpeta he didn't do shit for "Us" Jesus was the original cult leader, master salesman and story-teller. When are you people going to wake up and stop living a lie. What makes you believe this nonsense? Because your mom and dad and pastor said it was true in church growing up? Nearly every war in the history on man can be traced back to religion. People have been hung, burned alive, blown up, decapitated, castrated, stoned, drown all in the name of your "wonderful, happy, loving" GOD
@TheFOA11 I agree humankind has a poor track record when it comes to religion. However, they are human and as such we believe God has given us the all-important ability to make choices for ourselves and that we must live with the consequences of those choices.
Let's see, the Bible says "in the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God and the Word was God"(John1:1) Then Genesis says "In the beginning God created..."(Gen1:1) and goes on to state "The Spirit of God moved..."(Gen1:2) So in this one simple context we see the Trinitarian aspect of God. Why won't Mormon's affirm this? Why insist on trying to wrap God around human concepts and state 3 things can't exist as one. Isn't an egg 3 distinct things? What about ice, water vapor, solid
@Pastor1KAL we believe three things can exist as one which is why we believe in the Godhead, even God the Father, God the Son(Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Ghost(or Holy Spirit). I think you are referring to ice/solid, gas/vapor and liquid which is typically used in science but really is not the same thing. You can't say that God is gas, solid and liquid in comparing them to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost because they are each individual key parts of the Godhead, not water.
To those who may be confused as to why the LDS church does not teach of the trinity; I would challenge you to view the meaning of the word God. Ask a faithful LDS member if Jesus is God and they should answer yes. Ask yourself if you tuely believe that 3 seperate things could existy in one idividual or if 3 things would act together as one in purpose. Why would Christ need to pray if he was god the father? Why would the holy spirit come in the form of a dove at the baptism of christ?
All my life I have been a hard core sinner. I never knew that I have a Father in heaven that loves me. For many years I unknowingly served satan. I know now that life is a precious gift givin to me by God. That which is good cometh from the Lord, That which is evil comes from the devil. I am greatful to the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and all who fellowshiped me. I testify that a True Prophet Of God is on the earth today, He recieves revelation from God to give to us.
@liketolive500 Thank you for your moving testimony. I too am very thankful for Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice for all of us. I am thankful that our Father in heaven loved us enough to provide us with a Savior so we could go back home when our trail in life is over. God Bless you.
"We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." This is our core belief. We love and honor Jesus Christ, and, though we may slip and fall at times, we try every day to follow His teachings. I'm so grateful to be a Mormon, and allow all men and women the same privilege to worship how, where, or what they may. See more of our beliefs at mormon.org.
@JoyfulFamilies ..I am so glad to hear you say that.So many people want to say nasty things when they find out I am of Mormon Faith. They do not get that we believe in our father and the holy ghost, that is what is true. Don ot let what others say get to you.Just keep your faith. The ones who say this stiuff to and about us are the ones breaking the promises we make to not drink and all. They will be the ones who will never be near the celestial heaven, unless they change and can show they believe
@m0sthated80 I and those of my faith clearly follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. All churches are run by men that is unavoidable, the question is which one actually teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ and who actually follows his teachings and who as the authority to act in God's name on the earth? God speaks to prophets, also men, as he has since the beginning of time and Adam was the first prophet. There were many than followed Moses, Abraham, Isaiah...all men who were the mouthpiece of God.
@m0sthated80 I suppose it depends upon the individuals and how they live their lives. If they actually follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by their actions and not just their words.
@RSmith1982 I equally or more aware of the warning about false prophets as anyone who has ever read the Holy Bible and absolutely agree that there always have and always will be false prophets, teachers and so on who will try to lead us away from the true teachings of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Clearly you don't know what we believe then since we have always believed and had evidence of the Holy Ghost which is exactly why our church still exists.
@RSmith1982 The witness of the Holy Ghost is the most powerful witness of all is stronger than anything else that man can present as something as to whether or not it is true or false. I also would refer you to the NT which states by their fruits ye shall know them. Thoughts do precede actions and this is why we must always watch our thoughts, words and especially actions(they speak louder than words) to be sure they follow what Jesus has taught. I love that it is a practical gospel!!
no just because you are a diffrent religon does not mean your are going to hell. i think i would know i actually am mormon. and please liamgeeee dont go around saying stuff like that cause you have noooo idea what your talking about ok?
beautiful, moving, vivifying...eye+I'm most eager, perhaps anxious, to know where to find the Jesus visuals used here and by the Church in other videos, none so sweet so far, as "He Lives" that eye+I've found...where can I find online, or elsewhere, this particular visual testament to the Living Son...in the name of Jesus the Christ...amen :)
I am LDS and I believe in Evolution. Science is truth...truth comes from God. Believing in that doesnt make you go to hell. In fact we believe that there is more than just heaven and hell. There are different levels of "happiness" or "glory" that one can receive depending on the actions we took here on Earth during our life time. If you sincerely would like to know more, please message me.
Look, if you have anything negative to say about the church, please keep it to yourself. This video is for those with an interest in The LDS Church. This is in no way meant to tell people they are going to hell. The LDS Church's purpose is simply to teach people how to live fulfilling lives and to help people learn more about their origins. And please don't Bible Bash, we know what we believe and we don't want to contend to prove anyone wrong.
sooo ..if i ..lets say believe in evolution, darwinism etc etc ..i am going to hell? I mean, to be honest, dont you think that all the different avenues of christianity and catholics ..its become absolutely full of shit? I cant even begin to express how stupid all of this is. serious.
What exactly are you tired of the different religions, people saying you are going to hell?
I don't blame you if I were told that I would probably not feel it were what Christ would do. We don't go around telling people they are going to hell. We simply live our lives like yourself only we try to better ourselves by living by the teachings of Jesus Christ who taught unconditional love, charity and service to others. Other than that I can understand your frustration with organized religion.
@liamgeeeeee No, those are explainations for somethiing we dont fully understand, the phrase "from the dust of the Earth" was used by hebrew poets to represent the creation of something out of materals already there, in reference to pottery makers.
And yeah everything was messed up thats why there was a need to restore the true gospel, Thats why Joseph Smith was visited by God and Jesus Christ. He was chosen to restore the gospel because it had become corrupt over the years.
I'm a Mormon, and I believe in Evolution. In fact, I think that the book of Genesis is largeely parable, and that the book of Genesis also sneaks in hints about evolution, such as the order in which the animals were created.
Long story short: I believe that one day to God is as billions of years to him. I believe that he used evolution and such to create us.
it is so stupid to think that our Heavenly Father wouldnt give us His children guidance and instruction...we as parents dont just send our own children out into the world without any ....USE YOUR HEADS AND THINK!!!!!! as we guide our children...how must He guide us??????
I would agree and say that anything that takes you away from the teachings of Jesus Christ can and is the path to hell...just as so called hell is anything that takes away from God the Father and heaven and the joy and peace that exist there as it does no where else. And that spiritual death=being out from God's presence. It is true we must each find our own way and it must be our choice nothing that is forced upon us it is the only way we can learn. One choice at a time one day at a time.
Jesus not only had attributes of God, but he Is God. Part of the Holy Trinity. CHeck out all of John chapter 1, Phil 2:5, In Mathew 19 He identifies himself as "I AM"
True however we call it the Godhead and believe that God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Ghost are separate and distinct personage who are ONE in purpose. Yes Jesus Christ was and is the great I Am.
Here we have the difference between Mormonism and Christianity. Mormonism believes Christ too the sins of the world in the "garden of Gethsemane" and not on the cross. If this is a core belief than Mormonism cannot be aligned with Christianity.
That is a question for yourself not for me considering that each one of us goes through this life learning and experiencing and were are here for the journey. This is very subjective and personal, which does not mean that it is not valid or a means of determining the truth of falsity of anything we may see or hear. Part of the evaluation process includes being sensitive to the inspiration of the Holy Ghost as the truth of anything we may see or hear.
It is true that some have forgotten this wonderful and glorious gift to all mankind, and yet we must not forget as well as some, those who have not had chance to behold this work which He has done for us. May they be gathered soon....
Wait, I am confused. You stated that Jesus IS God, but then said God has never been a man like us. Yet Jesus had a body, he had bones, skin, and obviously blood that he spilt (which made him mortal). Sort of contradicting. Jesus Christ was part God in being His Son, born through the virgin Mary, but he was also part man because he was mortal.
Why are you confused Jesus Christ did come to earth and have a physical body including bones, skin and blood. I agree with your comment that Jesus Christ had attributes of both God and Man given that God the Father is his Father and Mary is his Mother. Thus he inherited both the divine and the mortal. Had he so chosen he could have not died and gotten off the cross however, he chose to die for all of us instead so that we may all be made alive by the glory of the resurrection.
you think you know me, dont you? i was born and raised in the church, was a church addict, 24/7 missionary, and socially-deprived depressed individual who did not know who Jesus was. I went on a mission and thought I knew it all. I was the craziest cult member there was. Never did I hear people mention the true Jesus, not some character JS taught.
I stand behind what I said. Mormons do not know Jesus, therefore cannot testify of him! I am so glad I have discovered Him. I wish you the same
If you were an 'addict, 24/7 missionary, socially-deprived depressed individual' you obviously did not understand the teachings of Jesus Christ which are what the church teaches including all forms of study of the life of Jesus Christ as well as actually living his commandments, sharing his teachings and feeling the joy of serving others without expectation of anything in return. You clearly missed something important in there so it is no wonder you felt socially-deprived and depressed.
how people soon forget what our Lord and savior have done for us in order to save us from ever lasting damnation. This is one of many beautiful and powerful revelations God our Heavenly Father has given us to ponder in our hearts with free agency either to believe or not.
Actually I hope we will know them 'before' we pass from this life, as this life is so short yet so important to both things that came before and especially those that follow, God bless you in your search as well.
@SmugDarkLoser Caffeine will not send you to hell. The word of wisdom was given to help us take care of our bodies. Anything we ingest which we know to be harmful is a bit disrespectful. If you gave your child a new bicycle you'd not want him/her to abuse it - you'd want them to take the best care of it possible. Same with our bodies which are a gift from God and should be held sacred.
A beautiful video depicting the most central belief of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The message is clear in spite of comments intended to distract the viewer from the subject at hand.
You hit the nail on the head! I have found there is a most active effort to prevent people from finding peace, love and happiness in their lives simply because they do not have it themselves. Truly sad. But I believe in the end those who are sincere my find it if they do not give up. We also have to expect there will always be opposition to God's church and word on the earth as there has been from the very beginning. I am thankful to have this knowledge every single day may God bless you.
You are incorrect in your "core beliefs" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1) we believe that all may have the influence of the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit, although we do believe for the "gift of the Holy Ghost" one must have been baptised and then been given this by one with the holy Priesthood or "authority to act in the name of God" to have this as a constant companion and guide so partly correct. As to "heaven" read the New Testament to find the answer: 1 Cor 15:40-41
A source may be reliable though not perfect, and yes you brought up some thoughtful points I would have to agree any source is only as good as which parts are accurate and how accurate they are. Until we can get the Bible back the way each gospel was originally written we, and I, am very grateful for what we do have.
The Book and Mormon and the Holy Bible are compliments to one another so one back up the other not just the Bible the Book of Mormon but also the Book of Mormon the Bible.
Again nothing said against "Christianity" simply those particular creeds including all their un-Christlike behavior, hypocrisy and lip-service. That is very different and an important distinction especially considering all of Joseph Smith's teaches are about Jesus Christ and thus are by definition Christian teachings themselves.
18 My object in going to ainquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
Exactly, Joseph Smith's intention was only to ask which church, if any, he should join, and he was told to join none of them. He was chosen as a prophet to restore the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earch once again as many truths had been lost in the nearly 2000 yrs since Christ's ministry on the earth.
Thank you I agree as I stated in the description...I think the visuals and music say far more than a volume of books or words ever could. I know I am very thankful every single day for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the church for helping to share his message through each and every one of us!
There is nothing better and the world needs it more than ever before!
If you understood early American History & the context of the times in which Joseph Smith Jr lived, you would understand it was a time when all the contending relgions were fighting to gain converts into their separate denominations...and so it makes perfect sense that a young innocent boy who raised to believe literally in the Holy Bible, as we do today; would follow the guidance from its passages such as James 1:5 which states that if we lack wisdom we should seek answers from prayer.
Actually the LDS church uses, teaches from and considers the Holy Bible holy scripture and the word of God. Just because you say it does not does not make it so. I have been a member for many years and know exactly what they believe please respect others and do not tell me my own beliefs. I do not tell you what you believe.
In so many words Joseph Smith simply asked God the Father which church he should join and was told to join none of them. In our church we are taught to be tolerant and loving to people of all faiths...or none.
You lost me because there is nothing the church as done to "set itself up against Christianity" in fact, it actually is one of the only churches that believes in the Jesus Christ of the New Testament and not from the Council of Nicaea and voted on by men in 325 AD. Three centuries after Christ's ministry on the earth.
Exactly "in the same sense and way" because we actually believe Jesus Christ was a literal historical figure who had a literal father and a literal mother. He was not a storybook make-believe character and again we don't have any specific knowledge of exactly how one had a God for a Father and a mortal for a mother. Do you? If so I'd love to hear it.
The concept of God once being a man, as you say, like us...that is speculation only. For us there is only one God whom we worship, God the Father through Jesus Christ. To worship any other god is against our beliefs & the 10 commandments "thou shalt have no other Gods before me". Regarding the conception of Jesus Christ; all we know is that Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father and Mary through the power of the Holy Ghost. Beyond that any technical details are mere speculation.
If you read the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price it has references to this all througout its pages. However, I posted this as the "core beliefs" as this depiction shows the cornerstone and absolute focus of all our teachings surround the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the literal Son of God, born of Mary.
His mission continues to every single person on this earth to this day, Jesus Christ, our Savior, has never loved any of us any more than now.
thats the prophet joseph smith, he wanted to know which church to join and God and Jesus both appeared to him and told him that the true church wasnt on the earth but that he was to be the prophet that restored Jesus Christs original church to the earth.
Hey, I am Emanuel, from Brazil i want to know if is some mormons that eventually want to talk about your doctrine?

You can do whatever you want it is your choice.

As to "heaven" read the New Testament to find the answer: 1 Cor 15:40-41
pangeanet 2 years ago
1 Cor 15:40-41:
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

A source may be reliable though not perfect, and yes you brought up some thoughtful points I would have to agree any source is only as good as which parts are accurate and how accurate they are. Until we can get the Bible back the way each gospel was originally written we, and I, am very grateful for what we do have.
pangeanet 2 years ago
The Book and Mormon and the Holy Bible are compliments to one another so one back up the other not just the Bible the Book of Mormon but also the Book of Mormon the Bible.

Again nothing said against "Christianity" simply those particular creeds including all their un-Christlike behavior, hypocrisy and lip-service. That is very different and an important distinction especially considering all of Joseph Smith's teaches are about Jesus Christ and thus are by definition Christian teachings themselves.

18 My object in going to ainquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
aarlavaan 2 years ago
Exactly, Joseph Smith's intention was only to ask which church, if any, he should join, and he was told to join none of them. He was chosen as a prophet to restore the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earch once again as many truths had been lost in the nearly 2000 yrs since Christ's ministry on the earth.

This is really true. I love the Church..

Thank you I agree as I stated in the description...I think the visuals and music say far more than a volume of books or words ever could. I know I am very thankful every single day for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the church for helping to share his message through each and every one of us!
There is nothing better and the world needs it more than ever before!

If you understood early American History & the context of the times in which Joseph Smith Jr lived, you would understand it was a time when all the contending relgions were fighting to gain converts into their separate denominations...and so it makes perfect sense that a young innocent boy who raised to believe literally in the Holy Bible, as we do today; would follow the guidance from its passages such as James 1:5 which states that if we lack wisdom we should seek answers from prayer.
pangeanet 3 years ago
Actually the LDS church uses, teaches from and considers the Holy Bible holy scripture and the word of God. Just because you say it does not does not make it so. I have been a member for many years and know exactly what they believe please respect others and do not tell me my own beliefs. I do not tell you what you believe.
pangeanet 3 years ago
Precisely. I, being another member of the church, agrees. Nothing more need be said on my part.
rosieposie95 3 years ago
Weasel7711 this is strictly your interpretation not that of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
pangeanet 3 years ago
In so many words Joseph Smith simply asked God the Father which church he should join and was told to join none of them. In our church we are taught to be tolerant and loving to people of all faiths...or none.
pangeanet 3 years ago
You lost me because there is nothing the church as done to "set itself up against Christianity" in fact, it actually is one of the only churches that believes in the Jesus Christ of the New Testament and not from the Council of Nicaea and voted on by men in 325 AD. Three centuries after Christ's ministry on the earth.
pangeanet 3 years ago
Exactly "in the same sense and way" because we actually believe Jesus Christ was a literal historical figure who had a literal father and a literal mother. He was not a storybook make-believe character and again we don't have any specific knowledge of exactly how one had a God for a Father and a mortal for a mother. Do you? If so I'd love to hear it.
pangeanet 3 years ago
The concept of God once being a man, as you say, like us...that is speculation only. For us there is only one God whom we worship, God the Father through Jesus Christ. To worship any other god is against our beliefs & the 10 commandments "thou shalt have no other Gods before me". Regarding the conception of Jesus Christ; all we know is that Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father and Mary through the power of the Holy Ghost. Beyond that any technical details are mere speculation.
pangeanet 3 years ago
If you read the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price it has references to this all througout its pages. However, I posted this as the "core beliefs" as this depiction shows the cornerstone and absolute focus of all our teachings surround the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the literal Son of God, born of Mary.
His mission continues to every single person on this earth to this day, Jesus Christ, our Savior, has never loved any of us any more than now.
pangeanet 3 years ago
thats the prophet joseph smith, he wanted to know which church to join and God and Jesus both appeared to him and told him that the true church wasnt on the earth but that he was to be the prophet that restored Jesus Christs original church to the earth.
