Theres 3 differnt types of E36 M3. 1 is light weight, 1 is regular, and the last one is a slower 1 because after '95 there were emision laws that made the later E36 models slower. Most you see are oftenly the slower ones but not all.
raced a 5.0 mustang pretty similar to this one in the video and I beat it with my stock e36 m3...I honestly thought I would lose because the engine sounded modified, but I guess I was mistaken. maybe it was the driver or the car or both, but w.e..///M Power

A buddy of mine has a Ranger with a 5L swap from a 80's-90's Foxbody and with just a cam, exhaust and tune he's putting 370HP to the ground...if you think about it, at most it was 900 dollars worth of parts and he's getting that. The M3 spent somewhere north of 2k for a turbo and another 1k for the work to make those numbers. The same money would put twinturbo's on a 5.0 and make it hit north of 500HP

yeah i know what your talking about, both engines are de tuned. the m3 motor is a detuned F1 engine and the mustang engine is just detuned. im pretty sure the e30 2.5 4 cyl has around 175 to 200 for compression. what about the mustang?
like 150-160. so it seems like it was really detuned! 9.2:1 compression ratio. and i think i was wrong with the rated hps. i think it had 235hp and 285lb-ft. but still i think 150-160 is still rather low.

No that's understandable. But you know that there are a million mods for mustangs especially suspension. Take a stock mustang throw a set of Eibach lowering springs, front and rear sway bar, front strut tower, after market shocks and struts and some rear upper and lower control arms and you're driving circles around 90 percent of cars on the road. It doesn't take a "whole" lot. Takes more than an M3 of course but you don't have to pay M3 prices lol. Both are fun cars.

Yeah that's my stang. Not too many suspension mods. Tokico shocks and struts and Ford Racing lowering springs and that's about it, but I wanna do more with the suspension just haven't gotten around to it lol.

Peak horsepower doesn't mean much. its all about how long your power band is I.E the longer and flatter the HP and torque curves are on the dyno sheet the better. In other words you don't need to make 380HP on a stock 5.0L to run in the 12's. And one thing i've learned over the years torque wins a lot of races.

1991 Mustang GT weighs 2824 lbs. Since when is that fucking heavy? A 1991 BMW M3 weighs 2867. Which is 43 lbs. more. At the same time, the Mustang puts out 225 hp while the M3 put out 192 hp. You talk so much shit about American cars but compare it to a similar German car and you'll see the truth.

A '91 GT weighs about 3300 lbs actually... I have an '82 LX which is about the lightest fox body you can get. The early '80s Mustangs are lighter than the later ones and the LX body is lighter than the GT. My Mustang weighs 2920 confirmed on a sanctioned scale and a '90s GT is nowhere near that.

The funny fact is for the amount money and time (most costly aspect) they still can't hang in the corners with a corvette that is worth as much money the car and adds you put on to it... Stangs have only been good at one thing a straight line... there is NO HIGH or any performance unless you can make it around a corner or stop in a timely manner both of which a SVT Cobra couldn't even compare to a stock corvette.

I own an e36 m. So. thats a 97 because of the color. So 245 bhp stock. NOT 240.
Thats 210 whp. Now, 368whp is NOT the bhp. Its whp. So after some math, your running 435bhp.
An Exhaust, chip, intake with get you about 30hp and 12whp. BIG difference. Mine put down 217whp. So i will run about 13.8 1\4
Only the e46 is 333bhp. They put about 275-300 to the rear wheels. An e36 with 300bhp with rape any e46 333bhp m3.
