Sobre ese argumento me extiendo a temas que se evaden por egoísmo. Porque en realidad la mayoría de los cubanos son mediocres y sumisos. purquiz, you raise a good point saying that in comparison to other more opressive regimes (say North Korea) its not as bad. The people of Cuba at least have education, cheaper health care, ect. But, you have to understand the price they pay is their freedom. There is no freedom of press, assembly, or even the right to leave the country on their own free will. This is an okay satire but I see a few errors in this as well, this must be taking place in the future considering Castro and a few others in here aren't dead yet.

purquiz, you raise a good point saying that in comparison to other more opressive regimes (say North Korea) its not as bad. The people of Cuba at least have education, cheaper health care, ect. But, you have to understand the price they pay is their freedom. There is no freedom of press, assembly, or even the right to leave the country on their own free will. Hell, they kill people who defy Castro's government. Thats why lukumi007 gets offended so easily about these things.

Hey hey guys chill out you both got legit points here. What lukumi007 is saying is that when you go to Cuba or China as a foreigner (even if you live there for a period of time) its not the same. You have certain rights and privileges that native Cubans dont. For example all the people you met said they were "happy" with the current government cuz THEY HAD TO. They dont have elections, freedoms, or rights like foreigners. They cant really say "lets change the government, its too opressive".

The few times I had something bad to say about the governent, it was the people themselves who said to me "It is a very good government that makes us happy. It's not perfect, but we have work, our children have good education and our elders have good medical attention. We have all we need".

I served in the Army for 3 years and graduated from the University of Havana, majoring in English,Philosophy and Economics. About your question, I didn't ask. However I met people who have travelled out of cuba to mexico, venezuela and argentina. I guess the real problem is when going to the US, but then again, the US has an embargo against cuba so that's not a surprise.
