  • How did they make it through the Drive Thru Sign? LOL...

    Nice editing...

  • Hate to be un-PC, here, but... did anyone notice... all the workers here are.... well, you can figure it out.

  • We just got our first jack in the box here in Indiana :)

  • think you can load a copy without all the watermarks etc?

  • Im old I remember when the each of the JITB restaurants looked exactly like this one.

  • Nobody paid!!

  • Jack in the box gives me the runs... I get why they call it Jack in the box. When the runs hit you, it's like when the jack pops out of the box. AHH!!! *runs to the bathroom*

  • now a days the fire chief would be stuck at the drive-thru, arguing with the cashier who can't speak a fucking word of english. "Do you boys know how to speak any doggone mexican? I can't understand a goddamn word this girl is say'n! For christsake! All I want is 30 monster tacos! We should have gone to Whataburger. They don't hire illegals there"....meanwhile, a blazing building full of people turns to ashes.

  • @garciaakanene nobody cares, I have no issues ordering from Jack in the Box. Maybe you should quit your bitching

  • WTF, the restaurant looked so much better then & Jack

  • Hated jack-off in the box then, hate it now. Nice how some things never change.

  • They didn't pay for their food!

  • Hey, they didn't even pay! Call this one a "drive-and-dash"!

  • I wrote this spot almost 40 years ago while copywriter at Doyle Dane Bernbach. Comments that wonder if somebody's house was burning while the firemen chomped on a Big Jack? Nah. They just took unfair advantage of the fact that they had a siren and a scary red truck.

  • Who's else tried to steal the drive thru Jack's head? LOL

  • food looked so disgusting back in the old days.

  • @TSSYF

Huh? Fast food actually had quality back then.

  • @KiloByte69 Quality i agree with. It just wasn't very photogenic.

  • Looked like JACK WAS ON CRACK

  • Comment removed

  • back when they served Kangaroo meat in their burgers? ;-p

  • Thats the longest firetruck ive ever seen xD hahahah

  • Love the commercial and free food to boot!

  • I could become an overnight billionaire and hire my own personal chef and still wouldn't give up my JITB tacos.

  • LOVE this commerical. Remember it when it first came out when I was a kid. I use to love going to Jack in the Box. Give me Jack in the B ox's tacos over anyother taco, anyday. Thanks for loading this and making me smile. remembering.

    Skyler

  • 0:31 How on EARTH did they clear the drive-thru clearance?

  • @WebVMan godddidit

  • i would be so pissed off if my house was the one that was on fire.....and they stopped be for jack in the box!!!

  • 1972...when jack in the box would give out food for free lol

  • thats the scriest trip to jack in the box i ever had

  • @0:32

i don't think they're gonna clear that sign

  • jack in the box: food served faster than you can say firetruck lol

  • I sure hope they remembered to put that taco in.

  • "and a taco" LOL

  • sod the fire lets get some grotty food.

  • more like shit in the box

  • @tahi16 How about cancer in a box? Trans fat

  • @pictureisup1

Lies. Trans-fats are essential to a high functioning brain.

  • Yea ,I liked the simple and clean way thing's were in the 60's and early 70's,

By the time jack's got thier covered places with tinted window's?

    it wasnt fun anymore.

  • The nerve is raw and tasty. We all know that . So believe what you must. Just realize that overpopulation is going to be quite painful. So good luck.

  • @MrBeautifulba1 You seem like a rare species. A conservative hippie. When it comes the time for the bigger people to start killin the little people because of overpopulation ae you going to volunteer to go? I don't think so.

  • @ChocolateRabbitEars Just give me a good strong morphine drip.

  • @MrBeautifulba1 O-O...I'm not touching this.

  • I wonder if the JITB on Story Ave in the Bronx is still there. Last time I went was like 30 years ago.

  • Evil people eating evil things. Humans buying shit from plastic soulless clowns while producing massive amounts of carbon monoxide. Great !!! Look at us pretending to be so fucking important with our stupid fucking plastic. Fuck Super Bowls and Fuck consumerism. Also, Stop Reproducing !!!

  • @MrBeautifulba1

Shame your mommy didn't take that advice.

  • @sgc284 You got that right !!! Thank you. Same reason that I will NEVER have children. Thank you for your support.

  • @MrBeautifulba1 That's not the reason. The reason is because women want nothing to do with you.

  • @don417 Gosh you certainly are a clever one. I guess I should go eat at Jack in the Box and kill my pain with some of that great tasting corporate grade tripe that you seem to like to defend. You are a brave soul defending your fast food giant. We can put that on your tombstone. You defended Jack in the Box. Your god must be incredibly proud of you and your stand on defending your precious Jack in the Box.

  • @MrBeautifulba1 ooh, guess I touched a nerve. Of course you're wrong. No where did I "defend" jack in the box, sally. Just pointed out you're a loser.

  • Did anyone notice how long that fucking fire truck was?!?!?!?!

  • There's an old JITB building on Whittier Blvd in La Habra, Ca, of course, Jack is long gone and the building stands unused.

  • where was this jacks... looks like the one on morena blvd that is now all boarded up.. what irony if so..

  • @AurelioErik If I recall correctly from our shoot 40 yrs ago, it was out on Wilshire in Santa Monica. Not 100% sure tho.

  • @jackinthebox1972 Hum,I was thinking Topanga Canyon Blvd, Canoga Park, did not write it but sure got hungry for jumbo jacks back then for some reason lol.

  • One of the first jack's i remember was in San Diego on ElCajon Bilvd,

Small table's in front, and white plaster building with leg's going to cieling.

    drive thru.

    Fond Memories

  • screw the burning house i have burning hunger....

  • jack's was always better tasting and alot more fun to eat at.

flavor was better, and they wernt into the so called marketing stuff like mc dianld's or burger king,

good food, simple, wholsome, and No hassle.

  • that name is funny

  • carls jr makes the best hamburgers

  • I am 99% convinced that places with "drive-through" windows, to save money, give people their old fries, as they expect drivers not to come back...

  • you can't go through the drivethrew in less than 60 seconds like that. the truck didn't even stop!

  • Wow...I remember there was a "Jack in the Box" in the Bronx as a child in the late 1970s, but I never ate there though...LOL

  • They didn't even give them their drinks either. lol That would've been messy.

  • Wait! They forgot to pay! It's a snatch and run D:

  • drive through fast food will never work!!!

  • Was that burger cooked to 165º to make sure all bacteria was killed.....?

  • The Box is gross, bro. Seriously, gross food, with one exception: If you are hungover, 5 tacos and a large coke will make you right.

  • @miamad well the chicken is good, and besides i think the donald is more disgusting, besides look at the average american these days when they eat at the donald

  • They didn't even pay!!!

  • Explodes a fast-food myth which is Wendy's had the first drive through window.

Jack In The Box started drive through service in the mid 50's in San Diego.

  • Wow. There was no fire. It's a commercial. Relax, people!

  • hahaha, i remember this commercial. 20 years old. brings back memories of '72

  • thats a long ass fire truck!

  • @youfakedthefunk sure like to be in the back steering. it like towing a trailer.

  • I work at jack in Sherman tx . Come see my jack antenna ball tattoo or see my interviews at jack in the box tattoo guy spread the word . See me on the news google jack on the box Blake

  • I find it hilarious that a Jack in the Box commercial from 1972 is still being actively commented on all these years later! I was 4 when that aired, and vaguely remember it...crazy. Miss the 70's.

  • @kirk1968 I was 4 in 1972 also, so was Rodney Allen Rippey. We're the same age as the 70's Jumbo Jack kid.

  • @ghostdancer2302 LOL. Oh man. I remember Rippey as well, what an amazing time to grow up! Wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • @kirk1968

im probably the same age as u and have a twin fraternal sis..we were talking about that yesterday...we are just old enuff to remember "Old stuff" like "milk men", and are still relatively young now and appreiate all the "new stuff"

  • @ghostdancer2302 , I was just born in 72 but at ages 3 and 4, they would still show the Jack in the box commercials with Rodney Allen Rippy and during that time, he was in L.A. and my mother took me to see him. He gave everyone these pin on badges with his picture on it, I still have mine to this day and it's very old!!

  • @Princess07ish Sell it, bitch!

  • @Princess07ish save that. Rodney Allen Rippey would be in his 40s today.

  • @kirk1968 I miss the 70's too... Back then, when there was a gas crisis, The price shot up to a whopping $1.05 per gallon

  • @1stRogInAz Which is about 3.50 by today's standards.

  • @biggiedickson Cannot argue with that.... your formula for price adjustment is right on.

  • those patties were frozen

  • does anyone remember the"can the clown" campaign? I think it was early eighties.

  • Okay, some poor soul's house is on fire and these jackasses stop at a drive through for burgers? Remind me not to move to that fire department district!

  • @0:31

that guy about to lose his freakin head!

  • He could have lost an arm there! How dangerous!

  • The logo was Jack back in his hippie college days.

  • Comment removed

  • So this is what Jack in the Box ads were like before the famous Jack mascot.

  • i wish they had jack in the box where i live.

all i see is whataburger and mcdonalds :/

  • That's either a really low firetruck or a really high drive through!

  • I got hired at a Jack in the Crack in late 72 near my high school in Chicago. After seeing what was in the food, especially those tacos, I not only quit after the first day but I never ate in one again.

  • @rhblakeman wt was in em??

  • @ineedmoney231 They come frozen without the cheese or lettuce/tomato. You drop them in the deep frier then when they are done in there you open them to add the toppings. Looks like dry dog food they made into a paste. Smells like ass.

  • @rhblakeman i worked at one in cottonwood,az. i used to burn the shit outta my finger tips trying to open the tacos once they came out of the grease. another reason why i joined the military because ill step in front of a bullet before working at jackoff in the box.

  • @rhblakeman Oops

  • I grew up in Northern New Jersey. We had a few Jack In The Boxes back in the early '70s, but they didn't stick around long. It probably saved some lives.

  • Worth noting, is they go back the same way they come from... these guys have no chance at putting out the fire.

  • They don't even have secret sauce on themany moreyou have to askfor the packets.

  • No way they cleared the "drive thru" sign.

  • So how many people died in the fire?

  • jack off in my box

  • I remember that turning head sign and the order clown. Wow.

  • go jack in the boxes tacos. that clown was weird sub me

  • @langokicks The Clown Rocks!

No dissing the clown. After all, who do you think is making your food no matter where you go? Some clown! :D

  • @MTXSHO9732vV8SHO um ok then.

  • That cheeseburger looked SO DAMN GOOD!!! I want 2 go 2 Jack In The Box. Todays burger joints are disgusting!

  • dude those 1972 jack in the box burgers look better than the ones today ha

  • bring back the moby jack

  • I love the tacky old jack in the box clown

and i think Jack's tacos are world class!!

  • 0:32- Ahh.... I think your little too tall for that clearance there Chief :D

  • I hope the people in the burning building are ok :/

  • great tv commercial from the summer of 1972

  • notice how the fireman doesnt pay him when he picks up his e-coli burger

  • wow that's an old reference. Hey dinosaur have you heard any jokes from the 21st century. WHat are you going to talk about next how President Taft ?

  • Did thoes fireman get E-coli because those burgers were not cooked long enough?

  • Just what I thought!

  • why do I remember this...?

  • jacks stuff is alot better tasting the mc donalds or burger king,

  • @kirkconway Its the salmonella they put in it. The one near my house is always having a sick customer wanting to close them down.

  • @kirkconway Yeah but it's harder to find Jacks, at least around my neck of the woods.

  • @kirkconway True and it was even better in the 70's

  • Let's look at some glaring errors in this amusing ad:

How does the fireman in the back give the food to the firemen in the front of the truck (he is given the bag)?

The firemen aren't given their Jack Colas

The truck goes opposite the way it came

The firemen never paid for their food

Why doesn't the fireman driving order the food?

The same frame is shown repeatedly to emphasize the truck's length

Wouldn't multiple bags be sufficient for a large order?

  • didnt someone recently get in trouble for doing this exact same thing in real life? I believe it was a paramedic in route to a call. I wonder if he had seen this commercial before

  • this location looks like the one that made my dad and i sick for 2 days

  • LOL...notice how the fire truck is like a mile long

  • LOL@ secret sauce....and the tacos have always contained mystery meat

  • i worked at jak, there was taco sause, and pico sause, they discontiued the pico sause

  • Can you tell me what he seceret sause is?

  • its still a secret. now jak oozes his sause everywhere, we call it catsup

  • Jack was great back then. I cant even eat fast food today. It is just terrible!!! I have to sell my house just to eat there, it's so damn expensive!

Burger king nukes the burgers now to. They suck sooooo bad now, I feel sorry for the kids today, they have missed all the good fast food. They just oversize all the meals and get the kids addicted to the sat fats and sugars. What a shame. Is that the jack in the box in pomona, Ca?

Across from the donut queen on Towne ave.

  • There are still a few goodies. Like Wendy's and DQ

  • Dude what the hell are you talking about? eveyrhting you said makes no scence

  • I know exactly the one your talking about...grew up there...everytime I visit home I make sure to stop by...damn I miss those taco runs at 2 in the morning!!

  • The EARLY Jack was so creepy.

  • Hold the e-coli please!

  • The drive through service must have been much faster back in the 70s...but you are now spending up to 10 minutes at the drive up window.

  • @aftershock71

its that stupid pot head ordering 99 tacos for 2 cents

    :/

  • They let them get away without paying. Was the police department following right after them?

  • That burning buiding can wait. Jack in the Box always comes first!

  • bring back jack-the-box to chicagoland!!!!!!

  • amen bruddah. Ther was something about those greasy good tacos you can't get anywhere else. The horsemeat rumor was a bit off putting back in the day but I'm sure that's been addressed.

  • @ebonics4everyone youre full of shit

  • jack was fukin creepy back then

  • I am picturing people burning alive in a tall building while firefighters stand outside and eat their burgers.

I also like how the fire truck was half a mile long in the driveway.

  • Why do they go back the way they came when they pull out on the street ?

Did they pass the call to get there food and go back ?

  • Yeah right that damn fire truck wasn't that long! They were just showing the same footage over and over.

  • That floaty head of Jack looking down at me in the 70's used to freak me out! Scary!

  • hey in this year they dont hae a clown head spining or when you order they change it !

  • yes, and i love their tacos.

  • bk's tacos are way better try em

  • yeah...no...nothing beat Jack's tacos..sorry. Nice try.

  • i do too . . . that meat paste is soooo addicting . . .

  • Did that guy say "and a taco" at :30 ?

  • yes

  • Yes

  • Did they even pay for the burgers? What about the fire?

  • fireman or policeman paying for their food was not as big a deal as it is now a days. As for the fire, what harm can 60 seconds do. :)

  • @mubd1234 Not only that, they didn't even say "please" or "thank you", how rude!

  • @mubd1234 the fire can wait im hungry;)

  • Comment removed

  • That Jack in the Box font is pretty Helter Skelterish. Anyone know of its inception in relation to the Tate/LaBianca murders?

  • man those burgers look tasty shame about the clown that is sure scary so is the writing on the shop too!

  • I saw a kid drive thru on a bicycle once. They wouldn't serve him.

  • And that was how obesity took over America.....

  • so burgers are more importan than a house on fire
