  • Marcy Playground, ONe of the BEst Bands ever !!! So many catchy songs, good fn for them

  • i love this performance, haha at the audience and that one guy clapping because his conditioned mind told him to

  • They do get radio play and they're going pretty strong. They're picking back up! A very good friend of mine has been touring with them and is great friends with Woz. I'm happy to say that they're all doing well!

  • i make the klick 44.444... :)

  • got so many chills from that..

  • Hey Woz

    great song !!

It has meant alot to me over the years..

and I never did " one big blast of heroin "

    However ...it's a well written tune ..

Musically speaking . so .thanks for writing this !

  • ufff great song, great band.

  • I can honestly say this is one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • One of the greatest and most underrated bands of all time. Shit! I've listened to them since day one and can't stop. GO MP!!!

  • this song couldn't possibly get any better than it already is

  • @musiclover848 too right. you've earned your username man

  • one of my favorite marcy playground songs :) they are so lovely.

  • They are playing in my small crappy town tonight.. I'm excited :-)

3 ppl are deaf and stupid btw :-D

  • that is a bad ass bass.. and i like the different picking style too.. definently a gem

  • ah ithere in nanimio bc tonight but i cant see thenm cuz im underage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

  • I feel like Marcy Playground is a band that is getting more and more recognition as time goes on. Their music is a flashback to a simpler time.

  • Only band I ever saw perform live. They were at my college. They sang this song. The crowd went crazy when he asked if we ever heard of an anime called Star Blazers. They're fun in concert. Woz cracked so many jokes in that concert.

  • love this band!

  • never gets old...saw this year as well!

  • The only post-seattle band i actually liked.Wozniak wrote some inventive lyrics, and some really catchy songs.I can't understand how crap bands like matchbox 20,third eye blind and that other shit got more popular in the late 90's.Shame,they were pretty good, and i think the best of the post seattle bands in my opinion.

  • @TheGatorfan93

they are still good and going strong, just saw them live a few times this year

  • True,,truew,,

I can add another 10 corporately " produced bands ,,'

that have been " established " by massive radio play

that have nothing to do with a well written song :

puddles of mud , nickle mud..lady bra & panties, saliva and

the rest of the lot of terrible new FM music being thrust upon the listening public wannabes /

get a tatoo,. a really mean grimacing look, a pair of tore up panties, some , overly distorted guitars '

    and shout alot ..'

    ,

  • @TheGatorfan93 I got to see them last year at the 2010 HFStival. I was so close I could have spit and hit John. I was just as close at the 98 HFStival. I fu**ing love marcy playground!!! Come to south central PA please!!!

  • @TheGatorfan93 Clearly you haven't listened to all that some of those "crap bands" have produced from the same era. Check out the song Slow Motion from Third Eye Blind - has the same kind of feel as One More Suicide... yet its from a "crap" band :)

MP is a wonderful band though, hugely understated and I think that is what you really meant.

  • those clapping fucks ruin the song ,Theyre timing is way off.

  • @moldyantics666 no, listen to the drums in this song. the clapping is right on beat. the bass and guitar are off beat, but that's how the song is supposed to be

  • This band is awesome!!!! I love it so much....

  • Nice, thumbs up. (But who are those headbanging doofuses?)

  • They are amazing live.

  • Dominating! Love it!

  • Oh my god I love this song and this band. I am going to see them tonight in OKC baby and even better its my Birthday!!! What more could one ask for!!!!

  • I love that he fucked up the second verse ... saves like a pimp though

  • oh my god.

i just discovered the greatest. bass. tone. EVARRR!

  • lol 0:50 wtf?

  • guy ate too much acid and all his buddies cant figure out how to calm him down :P

  • no such thing at that show. do you see the stage? that dude is naked watching star blazers in his head.

he picked the right button to go to mars.

  • marcy is one of the few bands i love as just as much live as i do studio, so good.

  • cake is on that list as well.

  • @TheDocLayton

if it weren't against my möööp, i'd kill to see them live

  • A song about "Star Blazers" Awesome show.

  • hey shithead. it's about heroin.

  • its about killin yourself. as from the last verse makes it clear,

  • Like half their songs...

  • lol. no, it's worse than speed racer. the song is great though.

i didn't know what the hell star blazers was until a few days ago. i binged on it for a few hours. it really is a horrible show.

  • Willy Wonka! A song about my absolute all time favorite animated series.

  • why do all of you have no taste in japanimation?

  • Comment removed

  • favorite marcy song!

  • You are lucky to have this footage! Awesome vid, great song!!

  • Good band. He sings about poppies, opium and heroin a lot. He doesn't look like a junky. Sure sounds like one though.

  • check out the one loser dancing 00:49

    lol

    Seriously though, awesome band.

  • you mean awesome dancer.

  • I tried to climb into the dark hole behind my oven where the gas comes in, but I couldn't fit.

  • This guy plays guitar and sings well. I can also understand what he says. A real shame they don't get radio play. I can't stop listening to this song.

  • Sex and Candy.

  • i thought you couldn't rock out on the acoustic guitar, i was HORRIBLY mistaken :)

  • 90's... some how this makes 2003 my summer of 69. I wont forget... whatever I can remember from it.

  • the 90sss!

  • Bass Note Sequence Guess:

    E, G#, B, E, G#, B, C#, E, A, B, D#, F# , D#

For those wanting bass tab, I just dinked around and came up with this note sequence: It may be wrong, but it was my best shot here real quick... Also, you will have to figure out octave on your own

  • at 3:37 sounded like he was goin for a kurt cobain kinda ending screamin

    SOUNDED GREAT THOE

  • yeah tehkold i cant seem to find it either.....kinda pissin me off.. its such a good song and i wanna learn it on bass

  • Alright. Does anybody know where I can find the tabs for the bass line in this song? I can't seem to find it (which is surprising, since it's one of their more popular songs) or figure it out on my own.

  • Man these guys are GOOD.

1 of my top songs of all time.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • i fucking love this song.

is there NOwhere i can download it,?

    like geeeeze!

    limewire dont got it man

  • its from the shapeshifter album.

  • This is why music was created. Rock on.

  • omq so this song is so fucking awsome!

    marcy playground rocks!

  • wow, the audience looks just a bit retarded. Is he making fun of them with his clapping at 2:45? Or is he really that high?

  • Comment removed

  • incase some of you ignoramuses didn't notice, marcy playground was one of the most opiate-influneced bands out there, a lot of their songs deal with the parameters of opiate addiction. i agree with okparanoidandroid, this and love bug are two of their best hits. don't count out blood in alphabet soup, that's good too - nirvana-esque.

  • no shit they were obviously opiate influenced, just look at the songs "poppies" and "opium" and of course this song "Wave Motion Gun" which is what im guessing they called their "rigs" or needles for the un-informed.

  • Wave Motion Gun is, in fact, a reference to the Anime "Starblazers", which they make quite obvious reference to in the first verse. I would bequite surprised if these guys actually did any hard drugs...

  • in all fairnes i dont thnk the above comment is about them doing hard drugs but problly more about them knowing people on hard drugs. the songs are story songs........ thay have to be about someone......right?

  • That guitar has mad effects for its acousticality.

  • my favorite song of theirs, love bug is pretty good though..

  • wow he fucked up, i guess he's not perfect like everyone else in the world!

  • Lol man, he is high as fuck on lsd, and pot, listen to how he sais "aweee yeah..." Lol funny man!

  • i think marcy playground has to be my favourite band of all time <3

  • I have always loved this song for its' sad and sentimental vocal! Woz sang this song perfectly for what the lyrics were saying. The arrangement of the instruments was excellent as well! Great bass and guitar crescendo. Very emotional! This was a good performance video, but for those who have not heard the album version, please go listen to that one as well. You will understand what I mean. Long live the Woz and Marcy Playground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am now in love with this song. Thank you Woz!

  • wow, i wish i was old enough to like these guys back in the day. i just discovered them like 5 months ago, after looking up sex and candy. so good! he handled the mess-up professionally.

  • I'm glad someone else noticed the mess-up too! But yeah, very sly handling to get his way out of it.

  • Dang I really like this band lol

  • wasnt this recorded in 1999?

  • Can someone please upload the album version of this track

  • This song gives me chills.

  • first time i heard this song, i thought it sounded like a paul simon throwaway tune...then it became my fav song on the disc. love it!

  • Paul Simon throwaway tune?! There is no such thing!

  • this song is totally about drugs

  • Aren't all Marcy Playground songs secretly or overtly about drugs?

  • probally 80% of them are.obviously this song is about heroin.the wave motion gun is the needle..

  • yeah about 90% of therir songs are....

  • Actually it's about a weapon on the battleship yamato from the cartoon star blazers. he references it the beginning of the song... this song makes me miss being young in the 80s.

  • no he is just using the show star blazers to get his point across about heroin..trust me

  • Hmm,the gift of insight.....

  • what the hell?? dude heroine also means villain you frikkin tard, derived from the greek word hero and origonally had something to do with greek mythology, and this song is based on the show starblazers,

  • lol, are you an idiot. 90% of MP's songs are about drugs.

  • wyrd... a needles a wave motion gun ahahah. i saw mp in like... they were in slow motion half a sleep noddin off...

  • gtrtblue is right, but heroine is a female hero, not a villain, you frikkin tard

  • Go back in time then.....you can do it !!!

  • Fav MP song right here ... funny as hell too

  • Hah. If they ever do another Star Blazers movie I guess this should be the theme song.

  • Or at least featured during the credits :)

  • nice i love this song

  • No, this is fairly old... John is still using Carlos, he has a new Epiphony now... plus he still has the wedding ring that is long gone now.

  • woz you guiz coming to holand some time soon?

somewhere in 99 or 2000 you played at melkweg, amsterdam but i couldnt make it.

  • i think he meant the concert, in which case, it sorta was. they played blood in alpabet soup which was on their latest album: MP3.

  • You gotta love Wozniak's obsession with Mars. It's obvious that Bowie is an alien, but who knows maybe he is as well..He is abnormally talented.

  • nah this isnt recent this was off the albulm Shapeshifter which was released around 1999 so it was prolly a little after that.

  • hahaha amazing video. Its so funny where he messes up at 2 35

  • soon theyll be no pain again youll feel like yourself again

  • Hey everyone, ive uploaded an unrelease MP song and any MP fans should come listen to it.its title: no money, no honey. If you want 2 find it, click my profile and its listed on: My Videos. Or search: "No money, MP"

  • was this fairly recent? it had to have been at least 2004.

  • It's most likely from the Shapeshifter tour in 1999, judging from the length of his hair, his wedding band and the guitar.

  • what a great song

I love it , woz your the real deal man

  • omfg he can scream :) love it :)))

  • It's Live music... Oven curtain... he picked it up. Got the crowd going and then they rocked!!! ~Awesome performance~

  • sa dechire les gars

  • one of the best song writers ever (= LONG LIVE MARCY

  • I love Marcy Playground!!!

  • yup... i agree with tigersharrk...lol... this is music, very very good music

  • no doubt it is good music and i love marcy playground and this song is one of my favorites. but he did not revise it in any way....... he forgot where he was, he stopped, he played it off a little, then he corrected himself very smoothly. no big deal....but it is what it was, stop crying metalhead and little tigger

  • It was a live show... so what if he made a mistake... hes still wayy better then you and all of us... LONG LIVE MARCY!! :)

  • Its his song..he can change it if he likes...its called a revision guys. in case you didnt notice..it was consistently the curtain in the whole performance.

  • you are an idiot just like him how can you forget your own song?

  • you lack imagination. your so stuck on what you know you cant accept change. maybe he did forget or maybe he changed it..its still a good song..oven or curtain realy has no difference to the song

  • he forgot the song , he said downstairs behind the curtain when he was supposed to say downstairs behind the oven.....he tried to act like he was so into the clapping .... but in reality he forgot his own song .....what a junkie

  • Junkie??? I dont think so

  • he didnt even try to act like he didnt screw up tho. notice the "ohhhh yeahhhh". then when he tries again he sais "k ready?". he clearly just screwed up which everyone does but he didnt hide it or stop the song he handled it pretty professionaly and i think that makes this video even better. hes not a junkie.

  • this song about shooting up

  • This is without a doubt one of the greatest MP soungs ever. too bad the crazy germans have no clue what they're doing

  • how embarressing, yes, they're germans... the totally unappropriate, dumb clapping is a german phenomen 0_o'' ...

Sorry, folks, they don't know better =/ ...

and yes, they'd need to get their asses kicked for that...

  • This song is really great and the cd it is on is really great , what a treat to see live

    marcy playground Rocks !

  • LOL This song means a lot to me (due to the fact this song made me head bang in public.) :P I'm sure you feel the same way taylor. Good times.

  • Last night I had a dream MP released a new cd ..

and GT was was the theme , what a great song

    woz...we love you man

  • Great song, great band, but the audience really sucks, only the weirdos are rocking away - suppose these are Germans aghh!! (being one that rocks like those weirdos :-D!) -->suppose that because of the sign "viva"--> tv channel here

  • Gsmack, you're a god....lol. I love these vids

  • i like the crazy background, it goes good with the song

  • why are they all clapping? i wouls have to kick all there asses!
