  • een fantastische opname van Nichols.

  • Ben het helemaal met je eens Dick !

  • Nice original interpretation of this tune.Red perhaps plays a little too self consciously, but Miffs tailgate trombone style is a delight.Always a pleasure to hear Rollini's monster sax.Great upload, many thanks

  • Lovely tune!! First time I heard it was by Benny Goodman in a 33 rpm that was in a boxset from the fifties issued in Argentina with another ten LPs, adn it was very cheap (less than one dollar per disc)

  • A really wonderful recording, what musicianship! Hadn´t heard this version before. Thanks a lot for uploading!!!!

  • Eddie Cantor did not write this song for Ida. It came out before Eddie got a hold of it. It was introduced by a minstrel man named Eddie Leonard. Cantor later adopted the song and sang to his wife who happened to be named Ida and it has since become more or less identified with Cantor thru movies, radio and tv., but it was written by Eddie Leonard and Eddie Munson in 1903.

  • We should all be grateful for your postings of this charming, tuneful. and elegant old recordings. Maybe I shouldn't even refer to them as "old" as if these recordings are not timeless.

    Thanks again, Jazz girl.

  • Eddie Cantor wrote this in honor of his wife Ida . I think it is done nicely here. It's usually much jazzier.............
