  • with blade turned up is traditional blade turned down is used mostly for in english as the quick killing one slash

  • fwew, ive seen alot of hate on this guys vids, and th only one ive seen any actual reason 2 hate is this one, probably because of the blade up thing and the way u old the katana, but honestly the other vids are almost alright from what i've seen, all he needs 2 do to improve them is do his moves faster instead of slow-mo show-u-how sorta things because it doesnt look good

  • I think he was trying refer to the Showa era Shin Gunto

  • Carrying the blade up is a recent thing?! Since they were first produced in the Muromachi period, the katana has always been carried edge up. Tachi, on the other hand, are carried blade down. Also, your sword has no tsuba. And lastly, the katana is a cutting weapon; your wrists are for leverage and control. You don't just hack at your enemy and hope he falls down. You've discredited yourself quite a bit with this one video. By no means are you an "expert."

  • @KoroshiyaMHX not just a tachi but a nodachi considering how long the blades are

  • Jesus forgives you... but still...

  • Look out we have the internet genius's here.

  • you hold the katana to tight and your body is to tense and be more fluent whith move ment

  • This guy has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. His grip is incorrect, he cuts in a way that would never work if you actually hit something (or someone).

Find a decent iaido dojo if you want to learn how to REALLY use a katana...

  • nope

  • ninja's don't use katana...

  • @AngeloDrach some did cause alot of ninja's use to be samurai so it not true to say that

  • @TheKingtut111 no, they use ninja-to when in their shozoku, because if they used a katan, the culd be identified by it later. The katana was the samurai's soul. A ninja-to is just a tool.

  • @MyS0ngList your neglecting how sharp a katana is, if all objects could be used as a katana with similer effects, katanas would be a waste. dude serious you dont know what you just said, there is weight of the weapon that can mess up everything. a katana takes years to master and no skills dont transfer to a coat hanger.

  • @manz92 Comin from the guy who just knocked it for not being available when needed, now all of a sudden you're a swordsman? Blunt objects don't slice like a katana but obviously would still injure if used properly. Easy buddy

  • @MyS0ngList im not a swordsmen, i never said i was, but i know weapon fighting differes from weapon to weapon. when you train katana, you train to cut. you can use that training say with a pipe.

  • I like to return here, 2 or 3 time per year to thumb it down again. This video never get enough thumb down.

  • if you cut your ear off i will laugh

  • I think its high time you used your Wakizashi to regain your honor, witch is something you'll probably never understand.

  • Hey thank you. Your info is invalueble.

  • very practical information in this century. "oh no a bunch of ninja's are jumping me, better pull out my katana"

  • "ninjas had it over their backs"... if you say so

  • Wrong wrong wrong, you need some work son

  • Neutral comment. I don't know much at all about sword fighting, I'm just curious on a social level, if this guy would get as much hate if he was a 70 year old asian man.

  • If you want to learn Katana please seek out an Iaido school near you. Do not waste your time with guys like this. Iaido is the Japanese marshal art of drawing, striking, and sheathing the Katana. If you don't have an Iaido school near you then look into Kendo.

  • Wrist power?

I am doing swordfighting now for 9 years and the last u need is wrist power!

If u use them they´ll get injured for the rest of your life.

  • obviously has never trained with a live blade with the way he so easily runs his fingers along the edge of the blade. the tsuba for some reason has been removed. the lead hand should be at an angle to the handle as oppossed to holding it like a baseball bat/axe/sledgehammer. on the positive side at least he didn't butt his left hand tight against his right hand.

  • You're a fool. Ninjas didn't use katanas they used a more straight one sided blade called a ninja-to. Play Tenshu BISH!!!

  • Maybe I heard wrong, but I thought the Katana was too large for the Ninja to fight with indoors and used the smaller ninja-to?

  • The way he put the katana back in the holster would make any Iaido master cringe.

  • @Exomos a holster is for a gun, a sheath is for bladed weapons. yes, his method of resheathing (noto in Japanese) the blade in the sheath/scabbard[more common term for sword sheath](saya in Japanese) leaves alot to be desired and shows a lack of knowledge of Japanese swordsmanship.

  • Ninjas would cary it over their backs ... liiiiies

  • @Bjo15 its not wrong they just wouldn't be using katanas

  • dude how dont you need a tsuba?

  • lol rofl he's a noob he cant even tie his belt right XD

  • I studied kendo for about a month and a half, maybe two months. i'm not very good, by any stretch of the imagination, but even i can see that this guy is completely and utterly incompetent.

  • be carefull, bud.

  • you have no idear what you're doin country boy

  • @laketahoethebest idear hahaha

  • @laketahoethebest I'd like to see u spar with him tough guy

  • @ernestas111 so would I

  • dude you dont use alot of wrist movement you can hurt yourself that way, and you dont chop with a sword your slice with it.

  • @deathwatcher221 Allot of people teach that wrist action with a katana. The theory was that the folded steel blade and the sharpness of the edge made it stronger so it could handle more fierce strikes, thus they added that movement and incorporated it into their strikes and increased the tip speed giving the blade more momentum and cutting power.

  • @InsaneGeraldo its basic knowledge that you don't use a lot of wrist action, you can damage your tendons easily, I know for a fact when I first started out i hurt my tendons, when you use a lot of wrist your grip can weaken, so you may make a faster cut (which you dont need to do if you cut correctly the blades weight will factor in enough speed) but the sword will fly out of your hand if it doesn't slice through

  • too much wrist movement hurts your tendons and will also cause the blade to stick in the cut very bad juju especially if you are fighting against multiple opponents. And swords were only worn on the back so people could climb or move to narrow passageways. How the hell you going to draw the sword and return it to saya. And not every Japanese sword is call a katana.

  • @xxmrbrooksxx

Samurai wore the sword in their belt, mostly practitioners of alternative swordform, such as ninjutsu, had them on the back, as you could strike with a cutting motion straight up.

Thing is, katanas (long swords) are not very suited for this, and it was mostly wakisazhi and tanto that were worn on the back.

  • White people . . . ruining things that should not be ruined since . . . forever. (ps i'm white, how d'ya like THAT!)

  • only one thing! practice IAIDO, you must respect the katana!!

  • I am horrified everytime I watch this kid. wrist movement?? He is using it like an axe not a sword. He will chop with his sword not slash or cut properly.

Eeeeekkkk please leave the swords alone your going to hurt yourself man....ouch.

By using too much wrist movement you risk damaging the tendons and bones of your wrist along with twisting the blade when cutting anything.

Someone is giving you wrong information.

  • Well, first of all that's not a katana ... a katana was forged by a zen monk during the samurai age in Japan, which is way over now, secondly a respectable japanese sword must have a tsuba (the sword's guard) and finally, he is not showing the right grip. These are the dangers of internet anime samurai kids wearing a black belt and filming these little videos. They can live in their own fantasy world but they shouldn't be posting any instructional videos about anything but anime drawings.

  • @JohnLennon100 Dont think the sword must be from that time period to be a katana ( yes that is not a real katana since it doesnt have a guard) But a katana made in over time is still a katana .

  • @IcyViking Well ...if you understood the real meaning of a "katana" you wouldn't say what you just said, the problem is that not everybody knows the way of thinking of medieval Japan nor the Samurai.

  • @zerkrxagent kimi wo coward? guns outside of hunting safety for hunters or war soldiers are for weaklings, even if what the 'instructor' says and his mannerisms are nonsense. If you don't even like swords, then just leave. simple as that. To all, God Bless.

  • @kingofgames1220

:))))))))))) yeah, but... he's just a stupid child playing with a toy

  • what happened to the tsuba

  • @kingofgames1220

In fact, he din't had any respect for what is talkink about...

(if he realy know what it is...)

  • Ninjas couldnt wirld katanas only the samurai were permitted to carry them if anyone other than a samurai carried a blade above a certain length they would be executed

  • @therockguitarist96 Depends which time period you are talking about. And since most "ninjas" were samurai that doesn't hold true either.

  • whats up with his gi? and idk who would want to be this guys student he doesnt know what the heck hes talking about

  • kids let thus be a lesson to you. don't do drugs. especially crack.

  • wow.......what a buffoon

  • This guy has no idea what so ever and would be far better employed making "How NOT to" videos. I've spent in excess of 30 years learning and teaching Iai and Kenjutsu, and absolutely nothing in this video makes any sense.

  • @lileichmann As much as I agree with you about THIS video you are way off about American dojos. I have never seen one before with Christian teachings. Kinda generalizing are we?

  • hi im forrest, forrest gump

  • This guy is right. When he touched the blade the first time he was showing you where your bottom hand goes and the second time he was simply putting the sword in its sheath. So stop giving the guy crap.

  • @cena9913 Were you paid by expert village, or are you just a moron? Setting aside the fact that he got more things wrong than a cheap western made ninja movie, there is no excuse for someone claiming to know how to handle a sword to grab the blade like that, especially in a supposedly instructional video

  • @cena9913 Right? This guy is wrong about 90% of the things he mentioned.

  • Black belt is in which martial art?Apart from claiming that the usual katana has got TWO Kurigatas.I guess his katana hasnt got a tsuba because the way he is holding the katana would be useless,if there was a tsuba.anyway who is actually holding a katana at the blade or even on the habaki, is it a new ryu i havent heard of?BTW: Katanas were made in different styles, e.g. in kukishinden ryu, togakure ryu etc. This means, the blades or tsuka were shorter or longer, with tsuba or without and so on

  • Jesus, if that was a sharpened blade, you'd be spilling blood all over the floor...

And besides the wrong holding lessons, you forgot to refere that you have to concentrate the hold on your pinkies so you can have that powerful blows you're talking about...

And you call yourself an instructor, kid...

  • Religion, Race, or Creed have nothing to do with Martial Arts, it comes down to study and how much of it you do.

  • the katana is tooo long to draw it from your back ! And i'm sure when you perform a tsuki with a tsubaless katana you wil eventually cut your fingers, and also the guy's grips is terrible, you're holding a sword not a baseball bat (wrist).

  • @MMG890525 not some katana's my friend. A wakazashi would be quite easy for my size. Well on first assumption, but I have an O katana...and..yeah it's over half my size...but...yea....I like it though. But I agree with you on some cases.

  • Yeah! More ridiculous Christian martial arts (note the backwards wall logo in the mirror behind our 'expert')... is that not an oxymoron? Or just a moron?

Actually, I feel sorry for this young guy, he no doubt an earnest, hard-working young guy who trains as some WalMart Americanized You'all at the Mall Martial Art... but he's no expert.

Seems Expert Village can be anything but... ahh!.. it's a paradox I bet. ;-)

  • @UrbanNeanderthal Wow. I didn't even see that silly logo in back. On the other hand though, I'm pretty sure Jesus was a ninja...

  • @DezoOwl Most of the nut jobs karate kids in America have there "dojos" emblazened with christian references. Seems not only do they lack proper martial arts skill/knowledge but also lack reasoning in the presence of emperical evidence. No matter where you go, if a people vest a large interest in something, the christian leech won't be far behind. Here in Thailand they have even begun to open Muay Thai gyms... and they're ego is unwordly large, very poor attitudes and such anger.

  • @SuperGoliath89 that's what it sounds like

  • @kingofgames1220 3 times :P thumb on the mune hand above/on habaki couldent clearly see and he used his finger to correct the kisaki when resheating

  • Dur?

  • Comment removed

  • Say with me "we do not hold our katana like a club"

  • no just no.......

  • @SuperGoliath89 you gotta love when ppl think they know something when they know nothing

  • @caholez yes u can, just get a shorter sword

  • Square away your obi!

  • To defend against an attacker with a katana, first, draw your loaded pistol. Next, aim at "ninja boy" and pull trigger until pistol stops making loud noises. Then, exfil quickly and quietly. That is all.

  • Are you really swinging it with arms bent like that? And what about the grip of your first and second finger of the right hand? It seems too tight, judging also by looking at how your arm muscles can be seen.

This is not how you hold a katana. Or at least not how my sensei teaches us to hold it.

  • Comment removed

  • @OP Ninja's didn't carry katana. They may have used ninjato for their fighting styles if they actually carried a sword at all but anyone wanna actually try and find and ask a real one? Hollywood fail.

  • @epicpewpew There is no such thing as a "ninjato." It is purely an invention of modern media. Yes, ninja might not have used proper katana, but they certainly didn't use katana-like straight edge blades either.

  • @SuperGoliath89 Thanks for the heads up!

  • Watch the way he holds the katana with his right hand... it's wrong all the way... looks like he's holding a sledge-hammer but not a sword... the grip is to tight limiting the movement of the blade...

  • @dime332 actually he's right, if he holds and slashes that way he'll get more power in his slash.

  • Fail!

  • @SuperGoliath89 there is actually a ninjitsu art, but theres only one grand master left alive, sooo...

  • @Kestrel150 No one I know of is still alive, and there were no grand masters, but the last living ninja passed the tradition down through my sensei's sensei's!

  • @Kestrel150 I know full well that there's still legitimate schools of Ninjutsu around in this day and age. But pretty much every time I ever hear anyone mention ninja in regard to anything, it's usually a bunch of crap, either taken directly from popular media, or some crap history written up by some backwater McDojo.

  • @SuperGoliath89 i understand what you mean =/ its a shame people dont know more about the real thing

  • @SuperGoliath89 hey dude I'm new to this stuff and I know a sensei is the best but there isnt any near me so do you know anyplace GOOD on the internet to learn the basic stances and stuff?

  • @datachief101 No. You can't properly learn through a video or a book or a webpage or any garbage like that. The only thing those are EVER any good for is learning the theory and history behind a technique, and that's only assuming you have material that's legitimate, and not spouting bull. Practical knowledge of any martial art can only be learned in one of two ways: 1) Trial and error, which is pretty much impossible for weapons training, or 2) Actually finding someone to teach you.

  • @SuperGoliath89 right cheers bro

  • dude you could not be more wrong. I am an Iaido student and everything you showed and told is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen

  • I love it how everyone claims to know the truth. Sure is a lot of "experts" out there, way more than I would have guessed. The guy making this video is no different than any of you people correcting him...you all lack credibility.

  • Did he say ninja?,did he run his fingers across the blade?,not much of an instructor, probably some wannabe weekender with a meat cleaver

  • Just a little note @Zguy1217: The upward blade (called a tachi) was used for cavalry in fact, hence the attachment. This was to ease up the drawing of the blade, and would make it so that the edge would be drawn towards potential target as well I believe. The downward blade (called uchigatana) was used by foot soldier and other non-cavalry members. They are different weapons, and as far as I know, one cannot be worn properly in the same way than the other.

  • First of all

You can't draw a katana from your back okay?

Your sword doesn't even have a tsuba, get a proper sword for iaido okay?

Don't hold the blade, Or even touch habaki, there's a reason why the tsuba should exist where you're placing the right hand

And wrist movement? Carpal tunnel syndrome anyone?

  • samurai wear those samurai not ninjas...

  • 1st: Ninjas don't use Katanas.

2nd: the upward turned blade with the draw strike is from Battoujutsu, you'd know that if you had any decent training.

    3rd: @supergloiath89 - I agree, this guy is a major amateur.

  • This is trickster.

  • Lol, learn to use the sword before you talk about it child.

  • This video makes me sad.

  • I'm convinced that they handed this guy a katana and told him to act like he knew something about it. AND by the way, NO you can't effectively draw a katana(or a movie ninjato for that matter) while it's strapped to your back.

  • @darkshinegami Right!? Always drives me nuts when they do that in movies. Why in the world would you carry it on your back? I also love how the title of the video is "Fighting with a Katana sword". Ohh...so fighting with a "sword sword" then?

  • Korean has been trying to steal Chinese and Japanese traditional culture and make FAKE TRADITIONAL CULTURE in this era. and They try to be its origin.

I want all foreigners to know this crisis.

Korean think Bushido , Katana , Samurai and so many Japanese tradional culture and chinese culture is korean origin.

    THERE IS NO HISTORICAL PROOF!!!

Their mimic of Kendo will come to Japan expo in this year.

    watch this

    v=bivg7cDHeyg

  • epic fail......I've studied korean sword technique for years, and know enough about the differences between Japanese and Korean sword to know he's waaaaaay off. It's a result of too many martial arts schools not sticking to traditional roots. And what's up with them flipping the video in post. Looks real professional when all of the words in the background are backwards!

  • ummm kay ummm kay umm umm umm kaaaay??? So much is wrong here, can the instructors please go and learn from a reputable Sensei who is actually quallified then.... put in no less than several thousand hours of diligent and focused practice. Please stop wasting our time!!!!!!!!

  • "Ninja's would wear it over their backs"

Well there's a lot of debate going on about that. You can't draw a normal katana if it's on your back, so technically no one ever carried a Katana on their back unless they didn't want to draw it.

  • lol ''how ninjas would wear it'' that was a minor fail :P

  • Shocking,,,,

You have no idea. I'd be so embarassed to have this video on his site.

  • dude! you know nothing! go home and throw your black belt away. i train kids ten and under that know more than you. good lord!

  • That is how you wouldn't wear it, that isn't how you would hold it, and that certainly isn't how you would sheath it.

  • @Mr59plexi I've trained in Kendo for three years, and have received instruction from a champion Iaido-ka in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, Muso Shinden Ryu, and even some instruction in Ryushin Jigen Ryu by Yahagi Kunikazu-sensei himself. When I say that this man is not qualified to try and teach Japanese swordarts, believe me when I say that I know what I'm talking about.

  • KAY

    .

    0_o

  • KAY

  • u must eat more polenta....

  • You shouldn't be cutting soley with your wrist. Your wrist allows for quick changes in movement along the blade but doesn't represent the power behind it. Inertia from initial proper swing allows the wrist to be used properly, without the right swing though you might as well be flailing a coat hanger.

  • Oh and as for ninja... modern myth and Hollywood fairy dust, the historic 'ninja' were very different. Read a book or better yet move to Japan and actually live there for a few years on your own.

  • wow, so wrong Trace2. Go to Japan and actually learn before you teach. Karate was mainly used by farmers, that is why you dress in farmer's gi, their everyday work clothes. Samurai wore hakama and modern budo or martial arts descended from the samurai wear hakama to this day because of that. as for your sword technique...better watch some more kung-fu ninja flicks buddy.

  • maybe can i learn fight sword fights alone? Without classes?

  • @naoseiqualeh if you aren't extremely talented or determined it's impossible...you can learn the tecnique alone, but if happens you to face a real opponent it would be difficult to calculate distance and rythm of the fight

  • @Sarva07 Even with talent and determination, it's still impossible. Without being able to actually go out and fight people, it's impossible to train yourself swordsmanship. In this day and age, the only real way to learn it is through proper instruction.

  • I wish there were an easier way to put this...but this guy is a complete retard!

  • This guy really knows nothing. His knowledge seems to come straight from movies.

  • You will learn more from just swinging your sword around than listening to this fool...

  • Expert village is a prime example of an American attitude, practice three months, put on a black belt, "I am an instructor!" Pitiful, arrogant, selfish!! Most Americans simply will not endure the time, training and practice that it takes to accomplish real proficiency in Japanese or Okinawan martial arts. However, they WILL BE QUICK to self promote, take on titles and wear black belts. This kid wouldn't make a pimple in a black belts neck..

  • @TheKingdomofErnor I posted on here not to insult him but to hopefully give better information. Most of what he shows is not the best way based on my training with sword masters in Japan although I'm no expert either. Your comment about some ninja being samurai is not really correct. Many samurai who lost battles escaped to Iga and Koga province to escape persecution met with monks who escaped China and yamabushi. They developed a very different approach to combat then the samurai because:

  • @apryor2006 they were not bound by bushido and had a different outlook on life due to their different religeous beliefs such as Mikkyo and Shugendo as opposed to strictly Shinto. They also were unique because they had to develope combat methods to protect them from much larger armies who were well funded. By the time the ninja that we think about was on the scene there were major differences between the two.

  • Ninja didn't wear the swords on their backs (watching too many movies?) unless climbing etc (they did approach the sword with more of a utalitarian mindset, so they would use it in ways the Samurai wouldn't). Rear hand position is correct but not for wrist movement, that stops your hands from sliding onto the blade if sword abruptly gets stuck on bone etc.

  • ive read teh debate here on the sword of the ninja and i have to say this. the weapon they carried was a chisa katana or a katana nakago/tsuka with a wakizashi nagasa, carried in a katana saya. it disguised blade length, made it quicker and easier to use in confined spaces as well as giving katana leverage. or they carried no sword at all to blend in and used w/e was handy as a weapon.

kenkoo no raifu (good health much life)

  • @bobsamurai Good idea, but he´ll probably fail as he doesn´t know how to execute hara kiri ;)

  • this video made me want to puke. Katana were never worn on the back and never with the blade facing down. traditionally it has always been worn in the belt with blade facing up. and you would never put ypur thumb on the back of the blade or ever touch the blade of your katana. stupid kid

  • that's a terrible sword, listen to the damn rattle. and change your feets position when you swing that thing! you don't get any force, just maybe enough to cut off the poorly placed legs

  • Haha I mixed up tsuba and saya....

  • I'm self taught, but I did notice that he looked at the sheathe (tsuba, right?) while putting the sword in, mark of a beginner.

But hey this guy doesn't deserve all the trolling. He is very good at the basics, which is all you could claim to get by just watching from a chair.

They were worn on the back in Europe.

  • cute

  • @bobsamurai

    I agree.

  • kiding right?????

  • @LordvGum i counted more like 17 lol

  • Hmm...that's not entirely correct. 1. Ninja never wore it on their backs - that's a myth. 2. Katana were worn blade up in the belt, Tachi were worn suspended at the side blade down. 3. You want one fist distance between your hands, and one finger distance from the hilt to the top hand.

  • @ShinobiNoTodai Yea, the katana is too long. Ninjas used ninjato. I'm not an expert but even I have common sense. Same reason why you would wear a claymore on your back.

  • @RabbidMonkee Well unfortunately the "ninjato" is more hollywood than what was actually used. The misconception of carrying a sword on the back came from certain drawing techniques in tight spaces taught in Ninjutsu, and that Ninja may have carried the katana on their back while scaling castle walls. They never did carry it on their back outside of this- and certainly not in combat.

  • @ShinobiNoTodai That is correct. What we refer to as a ninjato came from a Bhuddist deity named Fudo Myo-o. He is the protector saint of Mount Takaoo-san and Mount Kimbu (sp?). These mountains have Bhudist monisteries where the yamabushi and shugenja train who had close ties to the ninja (still exist today). Do a search for marathon monks of mount kimbu (BBS has made documenteries on them). Ninja did use a shorter sword for speed so they could cut the hand off before opponent drew sword.

  • @ShinobiNoTodai dammit! I should have read this first. I just wrote the same thing. Hand position is kinda mute though since it's not a real sword. Real combat swords have much longer handles. This is a replica of a Shogun's ceremonial sword as are most that can be purchased at retail stores.

  • Utter rubbish

  • *chuckles*....I counted in total: 13 ums, uh, ers. Anyone else get 13? :P

  • Of all the wrongs in this video, IMHO the worst is the grip demonstrated.

  • I can't stop watching this video. The sheer idiocy this man shows in regards to something he's claiming to be an expert in has be baffled. I was going to mention a few things he got wrong but I'll settle on just one thing. The whole video.

  • @onotadaki You take the words out of my mouth

  • Sword on your back?!?!?!? Sorry buddy, only in the movies.

  • your name is trace 2....

    what happend to trace 1?

  • he is hold the katana wrong!!! he is choking it!

  • this idiot is really stupid. i bet i would beat him in a duel in a sec. lol:)

  • xaxaxaxa bobsamurai is totally right. Vote for seppuku demonstration next time : D

  • Im sorry but you can tell he isnt used to the weapon by how he describes and wields it..." unsheathing and slashing attack". Its called iaido. Also referencing ninjas for authenticity isnt wise

  • hmmm yes, after watching this video i am completely ready to wear and hold a katana. this video is quite helpful and purposeful, in no way should you disregard it for the absolute crap that it isn't. consider it as a great influence on your training and ---- *dies from irony overdose*

  • His Katana is lacking a tsuba, which is a major faux pax in practical swordsmanship as the tsuba is a vital item of defense when crossing swords, and not having one is a potentially lethal mistake.

The lack of the tsuba also makes describing his other improper technique in sword wielding difficult, which is the closeness of his top hand to the hilt of the sword, which if there were a hilt his hand would be pressing against it which would "choke" the sword, restricting movement.

  • This guy is awesome, I admire his self esteem and self-confidance, he is the supreme form of the american ninja :))))

  • Tres you should go and learn from another video "Drawing and Resheathing the Japanese Sword" When you view this you should begin to understand that you have soooo much to learn about the very basics that you should withdraw your videos.

  • @bobsamurai Let's just pray they don't attempt tameshigiri.

  • im not one to judge but.....

  • I am by no means an expert, but I truly believe one should not handle a katana, especially a live one, without the proper instruction from a sensei. Reasons:

    1. Without proper advice, you will most likely injure yourself.

    2. Without proper instruction, you disrespect the essence of the sword, and look ridiculous yourself.

Please take this video with a grain of salt.

  • cool

  • @KagaKiyomitsu What you fail to realize, is 99% of youtube viewers care less about this video and the arguments people like you post to legitimize yourself. You are so narrow minded, you can't tell an obvious sarcastic joke from advice. You assume your knowledge is superior to anyone else who has a computer and keyboard Threads like this and the Choson Ninja feud are entertaining time killers for me Sorry I offended sensibilities, try broadening your horizons and you'll see this doesn't matter

  • @MrSuPeRsLy21 I would tell it to his face.....He has no sword training at all. He trains at a McDojo....they offer sword arts when THEY THEMSELVES are NOT licensed to teach sword arts. This guy takes like karate or some sort of martial art...and sword arts ISNT what he takes as a main. So there fore.....he doesnt know what he's talking about AND nor does he have the skills. Anyone can pick up a sword and swing it around.

  • One more thing: The day when you think in use a real Katana, i recomend you to NOT REMOVE THE TSUBA if you dont want to lose a half hand.
