  • Another magical video. No matter what anyone says, it's perfect . √

  • Weird music Video, Kyo topless, inaudible noise and piercing screams, harsh beat...

Yep, this is everything that makes me love Dir en Grey <3

  • @adamr20001 me too :)

  • I like all their songs.. from all albums

my favorite band.. Dir En Grey :D

  • Comment removed

  • Dir en grey is nothing...........Just Amazing and epic band - -b

  • dirの中では一番好き!!!!

  • I love their music and even though it changes, theres something that stays the same, the feeling their music brings. Every artist wants to challenge theirself so its understandable and I truly admire them for that.

  • I really like this tune and like alot of their new stuff but I hate how Kyo makes too much unecesary noise >:0. It's cool in some areas like, it had a fair amount in Vulgar but in Uroboros, it disturbs alot of the music!.......

  • 私はVULGARの頃の彼らと曲とLIVEが一番輝いてたと思うなぁ

  • Shinya is a fucking BEAST on this song.

  • My Favourite part is when Kyo Acts like a Chicken

  • @MythicMudkipz ahahahahahahahahahahahah XD

  • even though i dont know what he is saying i understand

  • I may get bored listening to other bands, but these guys are varied enough to always keep me interested.

  • 2:40 - 2:58 is the best part

  • Wither以前も好きだけどWither以降は神。だけどマロボンから停滞していると思う。むしろ下がってるような。また、ライブでのファンの質が低下している。同じ考えの人いません?

  • 彼のブロンドの髪は暑いです

  • To those complaining about dir en grey's evolution...it's what they decided themselves they wanted to do. If you don't like it nobody's forcing you to listen to it

  • やっぱメンバーみんなかっこいいわ!!

    とくにdieかっこよすぎ!!!

    ギタリストとして憧れるわ!!

  • I'd love to see a duet between Mike Patton and Kyo. The earth might implode from such awesomeness :P

  • こういう基地外が隣町にいる。

    「プラッタキッキツプラクワ~」みたいな感じのところがすごく似てて興奮した。

    とってもかっこいい

  • His voice gives me butterflies. =D

  • Before this they are known as La Sadie before they change their band's name into dir en grey

  • @KamenRiderDecade84

Despite the fact that it had many of the same people, La:Sadies actually started off with a slightly different lineup: Kisaki, Kyo, Die, Shio, and Shinya. A few months after the band formed, Kaoru joined, and shortly after, Shio left. About a year later, La:Sadies disbanded when Kisaki left. Kaoru then asked Toshiya to join them. Not long after that, they released their first EP, Missa & became Dir en Grey.

Sorry for the rambling, I thought some history would be interesting.

  • @direngreyvideoz hehe yeah but they become much more awesome after Dir En Grey was made and until now they keep maintaining their style although their dressing is changed throughout the time

  • @direngreyvideoz Nice but u should also point out the fact that Yoshiki the drummer from the famous X-JAPAN became their manager for a while.HE made them become Dir en Grey and Shinya idol is Yoshiki :)!

  • @tiboy6969 not a good idea to say that "HE made them" it's a dangerous thing to say for diru, there's a reason why they changed labels.

  • @pwninkev Alright off course i understand that.Do YOU know the reason?I do.In fact i know their booker in Canada. That guy is personally friend with Toshiya and Die.Bottom line i was not actually talking about the band aspect more about the publicity.Yoshiki did helped the band a lot commercially. He also have a lot of respect for their style of music.Reason why he proposed them to become their manager. They changed because Yoshiki was planning a last tour or come back With X.They were in the talk.

  • @pwninkev To explain about Yoshiki. He was the founder of the famous X-JAPAN.Alongside with Taiji. He sold his company at the time and put all the money on building that band.Without knowing what it would turn out to be.The media aspect was reluctant to cite them in the news.In fact in an interview he stated that their starting single album had needed to sold 200.000 times in store before the media finally decided to lay eyes on them do you understand ?

  • @pwninkev LA Sadies in the beginning was a band that would have wither if it was not the fact they changed name labeled and had a commercial helped from someone already popular. He experience that before.Reason why he decided to help Dir en Grey.Because they had a good sound. It would have been sad today not to have them around.I personally sing like Kyo voice for voice it's the best style that helped me progress in my vocal business. :)

  • @pwninkev If you ask me my most favourite song to cover of them.My answer is probably, different sense,Vinushka,Lotus and obscure are tight third place and all the song album before six ugly i think with some from the newer albums :)

  • @direngreyvideoz They were already Dir en grey when they released MISSA.

  • This guys range is very good. but i still dont like the instruments that much... bands like within the ruins, august burns red, born of osiris, veil of maya, periphery, the human abstract, structures, POOPS ON THEM

  • @treeburner you're retarded lol. The guitarists are great in this band. Have you heard all of their other albums? They're way more varied than those bands, dude. Besides, those bands you named sound the same every album...

  • I agree, Kyo has one of the best voice ranges since Geoff Tate of Queensryche.

  • Then you havent played HG the beginning of red theme

  • Lolz at 0:50 it sounds like there playing a pokemon song

  • @frozenangel1000 No, i've played all the Pokèmon games and this doesn't sound like anything of it.

  • @frozenangel1000 what is so pokemon in that part? xD

  • @frozenangel1000 Oh I get it XD

    Gym Leader battle right? XD

  • I Like anything about Dir en Grey..

  • konoPVsuki

  • Am I The Only One Who Noticed Toshiya Spazzing Out Over There xDD I Know He Does It On Stage But,Come On Toshiya It's A Video!I Love You Anyways.Shinya's Drums Are Amazing In This And kyo's Growling/Screaming/Screeching Solo...instant Orgasm xDD

  • @Totonolikeseaweed -- Lol. Totchi will be Totchi, no matter the situation. xD

  • @KyoFoocha haha thats for sure xDD but, thats why we all love him so much!

  • At first I was like woah was that a transformer XD...if they had used this in transformers i would have loved that movie...

  • lol at people trying to prove the top comment wrong, i have heard some people who come close to Kyo's low and high screams and some that can sing as well BUT i have never heard someone who could do both.

  • To be honest, the band has been around for ages, their influences change, their style changes. I mean c'mon, you would get bored playing the same thing over again wouldn't you? Guitar wise, Uroboros is a very good experimental album, with Kaoru especially using different guitars, techniques, styles and even a sitar. If you prefer their old music, listen to their old music, while I will sit here and listen to a bit of everything of their discography.

  • @misskaylaMARS Bored? I don't think so. Just as long as it's good and it's not the same tune and all. Their are great music artists who can actually pull that off.......

  • Let's say both Kyo and Mike Patton are one of the best vocalists of all time.

  • listen> /watch?v=L4SGgyqrAhw

  • Ah, Dir en Grey of yesterday is but a memory =\ The days of Obscure, Child Prey, and Yokan are long gone. Their style just isn't as crazy and diverse as it used to be.

  • @TheDeathOfChaos

No offense, but are you deaf? They are even more diverse and crazy than they were ten years ago!

  • @DoctorCrube Listen to their albums 'Missa' all the way through to 'Vulgar'. Some of their best stuff. Songs like Garden, I'll, Child Prey, Jessica, Zan, Myaki, [KR]cube, Obscure, The Domestic Family Fucker, Yokan, Pink Killer, all of those are just a few of my favorites from that range of albums. Then you've got Withering to Death, not a bad album, Kodou and Saku were awesome. Then Marrow of a bone, the best songs on that one were released as singles before hand, Aggitated Scream of Maggots and

  • @TheDeathOfChaos Hey now, I've listened to all of their stuff! Their previous stuff have a tinge of the stuff from the 80s and to be honest, the recording quality of their earlier albums make it sound like it came from that era. It wasn't until either Vulgar or six Ugly that the quality actually sounded like it came from the time that it was recorded. And to say that there wasn't anything good on Marrow is just unfair. Ryoujoku no ame could have fit in Macabre or Kisou and so on.

  • @TheDeathOfChaos Cleaver Slezoid, the rest were all pretty identical to each other, but not too bad. Then Uroboros... most of it was high pitched yelling and sometimes just out of placed weird noises that were like rubbing an awkward surface the wrong way, the music going one way but the weird noises counteracting it, like around 2:41 in Red Soil here for instance. In their better stuff, it's like he knew when to pull that kind of vocal stunt but then this happened. Kyo, that crazy bastard, lol.

  • @TheDeathOfChaos Don't get me wrong, the song is ok, but seriously, compared to the likes of Zan, Obscure, Yokan, and Child Prey, it looks, sounds, and feels like they had conformed around the time they decided to enter American territory... it's just that simple. Like their sales are just better if they appeal to a new demographic, not the music...

  • @TheDeathOfChaos Soooo... I doesnt matter.. Im happy as long as they keep making music. Sometimes you just have to make new rules. nom sayin' G?

  • @Sleepingpillz I guess but the point being is the band I loved isn't the same band anymore it feels like, you know? Like they abandoned their original fans and went to appease other fans just because money is more important, similar to that of a friend ignoring you when they're around other people and they knew you first and for a long long time.

  • @TheDeathOfChaos lol You sound like a whiney teenager.

  • @Sleepingpillz

Everyone has their own opinions. Please respect that fact, and keep inflammatory comments to a minimum. Thank you.

  • @direngreyvideoz I love you.

  • @Sleepingpillz i don't

  • @sakukillerreborn Thats okay. It only takes one to stalk. One to masturbate. One to find where you live. One to watch you sleep.. One to sneak in.. One to pull the trigger.. One to... ;D

  • @TheDeathOfChaos yeah becuase they totally did that

  • @TheDeathOfChaos And you're fully aware that rock music in general haven't appeared in Japan until as early as the late 60s with the Flower Travellin' Band? They drew their influences from western bands such as Black Sabbath, King Crimson, and Muddy Waters. And on top of that, Yoshiki claimed that a KISS concert influneced him greatly. Yes, the very same Yoshiki that is in X Japan. There's no real distinct Japanese rock music, but to say that a band is changing sound for money is unfair.

  • @TheDeathOfChaos Either way, it's documented that Dir en grey and other well known Japanese artist and bands clearly listen and draw influence from western artists and bands. For example, Versailles enjoys Pantera, members of MUCC listen to Metallica and Iron Maiden, Yoshiki is a big fan of KISS, and so on. (Yoshiki even appeared on a KISS tribute album entitled KISS MY ASS.)

  • @DoctorCrube Lol, yes, I know all of this already. I actually chose Visual Kei as a subject to study for a speech in speech class a couple years ago. Not to mention that Rock started in America and derived from Blues and Folk Music. Three of the most influential pioneers in Visual Kei were X-Japan, BUCK-TICK, and Kuroyume. The visual aspect was definitley spawned by bands like Kiss and Twisted Sister, but they have their own unique style, which you can tell Diru has definitley strayed far from.

  • @TheDeathOfChaos That's good to hear! It seems as if most fans of this particular scene don't know the rich and vibrant history of rock music in general. Most of the ones I've encountered assumed that rock music originated much in Japan as much as it originated in either England or the United States.

  • C H A O S

  • I fucking don't understand people who dislike Dir en grey

  • @1ShockStar It's called having a different musical taste. Simple.

  • I didnt know Red Soil had a video :/

  • I love the way he moveeeeeeees, so ssexyyy

  • id love to see captions on this. it would make it awsome.

  • dani filth from Cradle of filth also has a great vocal range... just throwing it out there

  • @AbernathyProductions but can dani switch from clean to unclean vocals though

  • such a good song!!!! this PV reminded me of the Tetsuo movies. so siiiick!!!

  • dir en grey is god

  • why does this band have so many music videos? Seriously they have like 50, its crazy. I've been listening to them for a while and I'm still finding videos I've never seen before.

  • @DChapful They'vebeen around since 1997. What do you expect? lol

  • Heard "I love you" from Kyo♥

  • -3 die

    :) he's hardcore ^^

  • this is why Dir En Grey is just soo amazing. BEST BAND EVER

  • Dir En Grey Are Still The Best Japanese Musicians After All These Years and Still Growing Stronger.

  • Metal heads in America say Dir En Grey is like an average metal band compared to someone like Korn especially. Obviously, I know Dir En Grey is experimental, but Kyo has THE BEST screams and growls I've ever heard. Seriously no one tops it. It ain't a race thing either (though I like Japs); if there is an American Singer who can scream better than Kyo I would admit it, but there isn't and I really don't see anyone topping him. Dir En Grey ftw forever

  • @BlazedAsian Mike patton is the only comparable vocalist there is.

  • @THEREALMOSH2 but Mike Patton couldn't make any better growls than Kyo =)

  • @prznt That is the truest statment I've heard all day, but I've only been up for an hour or two.

  • @BlazedAsian "screams"... They're really good, but he's NOT THE BEST GROWLER.

Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse is by far (imo) the best growler these days.

  • @Twiggyay Kyo is actually almost equal to Opeth singer...imo.

  • @BlazedAsian i so agree with you dude that's why i don't listen to a lot american rock or metal anymore ok i'm lying lol some bands are cool but other then that i just find american music to be completely boring i mean come on! and also what i don't like about american bands is that they always make of Diru you know, because they are different and have more potential then they do i think that Diru DESERVES MORE ATTENTION! i'm mean come on they are really badass plus they work their asses off

  • @101shonenjumpfreak unfortunately the bands that are working hard aren't getting recognized or recognized enough in America. In our culture, fake, quick, and easy music is what apparently makes American music good. Listening to a live show of Dir en Grey is REAL, but Britney Spears or Katy Perry concerts are completely fake lip syncing BS. Some Americans like fantasy drama in pop music and fear the reality that is Dir en Grey.

  • @BlazedAsian I'll give that to you, that his screams are totally original and great, but he as a vocalist has been compared to greats like Mike Patton.

  • @BlazedAsian Yur so right dude the music over here in America is going to he'll in a hand basket that's why I listen to j-rock because at least they have one thing that American metal bands don't have it's called TALENT

  • @101shonenjumpfreak well well well... I come to a diru pv and find your long ass name on the first comment. XD (I'm not stalking you I promise! I honestly stumbled upon this O_O!.... I JUST WANTED TO SEE MY DIRU!!! I'M SORRY!! *runs to a corner and peaks out* /_O -> ^_^)

  • @anbmjj xD LOL!!! I'm sorry lol omg lol wow

  • @101shonenjumpfreak pfft, don't apologize! daijobu daijobu. ^_^ It's a good thing!... I think.. yeah no, it is.

  • @anbmjj i understand xD lol

  • @101shonenjumpfreak well i partially agree with you on that there are still a few good american metal bands in my opinion but if you want some countries that put out good metal Finland and Sweden are ace in that department. but yeah japans been coming out with some good rock and/or metal bands lately :D

  • @AvengedArsonist you forgot Norway! lol, bands like: Mayhem and kvelertak... Norway is one of the big metal countries, also one of the founders of black metal, they are also the founder of nazi black metal, etc (like Burzum) etc...

Germany is may also not get forgotten here!

  • @AvengedArsonist anyway even through Burzum made Norway even more famous because of his work ... but the bastard was a sick fuck... he killed a man (one of the guitarists/ and founder of Mayhem Øystein Aarseth) (His body was found outside his apartment with twenty-three cut wounds – two to the head, five to the neck, and sixteen to the back. this murder is also one of the most brutal in modern norwegian history).

  • @AvengedArsonist And the family of Øystein Aarseth also wanted Mayhem to take away Burzums bass lines in the song "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" but they didn't know how so the final result have Burzums contributions.

  • @AnCafeBest *Album

  • @AnCafeBest well.. um... thanks for the history lesson i guess but yes norway is ace too XD. you know what to keep it simple good music can come from all over the world as long as you look hard enough :P

  • @AvengedArsonist Dimmu Borgir and Actarius is also Nowegian .

  • @AvengedArsonist ^.^ thanx for agreeing :) and you are right there are some american bands that i like but i think that japan metal bands should deserve more attention and you are also right about japan they are coming out with good metal/ rock bands JAPAN FTW

  • @BlazedAsian Chino Moreno from the deftones is better..but he's the only one

  • @BlazedAsian came across this video by accident, and wouldn't have commented until i saw your post. Listen to Randy blythe from Lamd of god, try the song vigil ..or any other for that matter. Maybe thats why "metalheads in america", as absurd as that term is, consider this another metal band.

  • @barrenofmettle but lamb of god isn't even that good

  • @barrenofmettle man, ya know that Kyo is a far better screamer than Randy Blythe? right? I would laugh to death if you really think Blythe is better because Kyo is proven being one of the best screamers in the world (technically) ...

Kyo can to everything! every fucking kind of vocal you find in metal... While Blythe almost fucks up at midrange screaming, which is "his" kind of singing... and also the easiest kind of metal vocals...

  • @barrenofmettle And I actually checked the song you told him to check...

    1. the song was really boring(and I mean REALLY boring, I was just sitting here, waiting for that shit to stop...)

    2. the vocals wasn't ANY special, as I told you, midrange screams, the easiest kind of metal vocals. also, I would tell you, many midrange singers is really good, but he is not of the 100 bands I listen to singing with midrange vocals, he would maybe end up between 95-100 of the best vocals.

  • @barrenofmettle next time saying something like you just said, get your facts straight... plz? i'm actually beginning to get quite bored of correcting people who don't know a shit about what they talk about.

Also, I would ask you since you are one of these guys... why the fuck do people think midrange vocals is hardcore!? I don't fucking get it... is it because it sounds so raw????

I'm getting bored of these people who think it, because mid range is, (3rd time - -) the easiest kind of vocal

  • @barrenofmettle While I will admit I do like Lamb, I would have to say that Kyo is a far better vocalist. Shit. I sound like Randy when I scream. It's not hard. lol

  • @BlazedAsian His Inhaled Vox are going to ruin his voice in 10 years

  • @BlazedAsian It is not just a matter of screaming but transmitting anger and suffering with the voice. he can do it with screams and, more surprisely, with his calm voice too.

  • @BlazedAsian Mike Patton. But that's the only one I think.

  • @mangafroster Definitely. I actually hear a lot of similarity between Patton and Kyo.

  • @BlazedAsian I think that the reason Kyo is such a great vocalist is because of the fact that he can do melodic singing and switch to screeching and growling in like... 1 second flat.

  • @RueNymphetamine no, i bet there are also other vocalist that can switch quickly among hardcore voices, and there are also vocalist that can sing with their heart when singing melodically, however the difference between Kyo and them is that Kyo sing with his heart for both melody and hardcore vocal parts, plus he can switch even faster among other voices without breaking the "feel" of the song, unlike other bands. (Except for Maximum the hormone :D)

  • @cooljazz1997 You said what I said but totally just added more. Btw. MtH sucks D:

  • @RueNymphetamine This is a diru video, and not a place to badmouth other bands.

  • @RueNymphetamine Nonono, MTH is NICE! They are just like Diru, able to switch between genres without breaking "feel" of the song, is just that they usually play "happy then suddenly heavy" rather than Diru "Sad, Emotional then suddenly heavy", so u can say that MTH and Diru are complete opposite side of each other Whereas for lives, MTH also own big time however i still think Diru at the budokan lives are better, can't compare now because most MTH live vids have already been taken down, sad :(

  • @BlazedAsian im not saying he's better than kyo but mitch lucker can match up to his stuff except for the singing mitch can't sing :D but I still roll with kyo

  • @BlazedAsian Agreed. But this is my personal opinion. To each their own, but if anyone tries to PROVE otherwise are just fan boys. There are quite a few amazing vocalists, but I do have to say Kyo's is my favorite.

  • @BlazedAsian me personally its not so much the actual screaming but the fact that he has such a huge vocal range when it comes to screams =)

  • @BlazedAsian uhm, lolwut?... ok...

correct me if I'm wrong, but metal is indeed korn or metallica...

and if not instrumental, this is more metalcore...

  • @Masuhujo71 This is not metalcore at all, i know they've done some metalcore songs but this is not one of them.

This is more like Progressive rock/alternative metal.

  • @BlazedAsian

This metalhead from North America says that Korn is actually Nu metal. Also if the Dir en Grey discography is heard all in a row, they'd see an amazing evolution in styles. It's beautiful. Kyo has a great variety of vocals. Be careful with the term 'Japs' as it's a derogatory term, relating to the N word. Unfortunate and an easy mistake to make, just trying to be informative here. :P

If anyone wants to see a movie with mostly a Dir En Grey soundtrack, Death Trance.

  • I've been looking everywhere for this music video! I watched it once when I first started listening to them but couldn't remember the name! Yes! I'm so happy I found it again!!

  • vaya hasta que encuentro el video gracias

  • Kyo sure has one wide vocal range.

  • @Deathdragon012990

Doesn't he? He's so talented. Oh how I love him :]

  • My god they done it again they once again have blown my mind dir en grey are the best in this sea or emo corprut bull shit

  • incredible vocals, and transitions. fuck popularity, this band is the best even if millions hate them

  • @dj666ish millions hate them?..

  • have to agree!!!

constantly reinventing and never boring, oh and utterly amazing!

  • Die looks like a Japanese young Glenn Danzig.

  • @Heartlesswarrior13 Nvm, I meant Toshiya

  • 京さんの声って、変幻自在すぎる...!

  • fucking came ....HOLY FUCKING SHIT

  • i dont know why, but this vid reminds me so much of silent hill. giant hands? weird world/ Maybe, love the crazy part after silent scream

  • 2:15 I love the soft voice into the scream :] just before he goes ape shit haha

  • I love this song... <3 The video is cool, but... yeah, it´s not like other Dir en Grey Videos... it´s really different... But i love it^^

  • One word! Orgasm :)

    <3<3

  • One word! BONER :)

    <3<3

  • This was one of my favourite songs on the Uroboros album... :)

I didn't know it had a pv until now, though. -shot-

  • Now its gone, I really do miss the lop-sided Toshiya hair cut. Ah well.

Love the song and PV but prefer to see it live...then again, we'd all love to see deg live regardless of which songs they were preforming.

  • @CrazyCookieMonster6 I am pretty sure Toshiya modeled his hair after Manson.

  • @MAZ0HYST Looks more like a devilock to me, Misfits hairstyle.

  • This song is the best maybe not the best video tho...my opinion Obscure has got to be the best video ever!

  • 京は体にエフェクターでも内蔵されてんのか??wwww

  • Ugh who else is sick of people promoting Patton on Dir en Grey videos. Go away. Mike Patton's performances are emotionless.

  • @Cass0emoheart patton is very good but kyo is better

  • @Cass0emoheart He's still a good singer.
