@TheRealPDizzle I disagree with that. The rules of Pancrase alter the game too much and sheltered weakness in fighters that would be exposed in full-fledged MMA. For example, rope escapes gave guys with limited ground games (Like Bas and Vernon White early on) a safety net to fall back. The lack of face punches also made the under mount position a relatively non-threatening place to be.
I do, however, think there was more skill in Pancrase than in the UFC during the mid-90's.

It's funny that in Bas' fights at some point not far in he realizes that he is stronger and that he has won, we can see that.
He is fearless (except the fear of losing), stronger and more aggressive. That's why he owns his opponents. Guys like that are not trained to be like that, they are genuinely like that, definately not made, it's the way they are pretty much from the beginning.
