I didn't watch another episode after this bullshit elimination. Drew was THE best. She was eliminated because the other judges had it in for Simon. They were all on her band wagon, but the minute she started passing THEIR stars, she had to go. Idiots

OK so how this song got Drew voted off ill never know, but anyway!! I'm soo mad at Simon he really needed to get his head out of the clouds and listen to what all the judges had been saying from the beginning "all her songs are the same style"... maybe if he had she could have been in the top 3!! Hopefully he learned his listen and next season we won't loss a good artist soo soon!!

I don't even watch the X Factor, but I was channel-hopping the other night and this girl stopped me in my tracks. I thought it was absolutely beautiful, so original and haunting! I was gobsmacked by the horrible comments from Paula and Nicole afterwards - it was really something special, and jazzing it up or making it more complicated would have ruined it! Simplicity is sometimes more memorable than fancy footwork and stage spectaculars, guys!

You know how you tell a great chef, he makes the ingredient the star of the dish. And you know how you disguise a bad ingredient, by seasoning it with all sorts of shit. Hats off to simon for knowing hes got gold on his hands and showing her for what she is a true star without the garnishing.
I think people you are forgetting she has a style and stage presence just like Adele or Amy Winehouse No one asks them to sing differently because it's getting repetitive. This young girl has found her niche now watch her work it. The final piece to the equation is giving her her own music. Not all pop stars write their music. Simon said himself this show is taking your talent and becoming an artist. Drew IS NOT doing that. She is talented, but she does not diversify her performances. Just disregard Astro for ONE second. Compare her to Melanie and Rachel, those two have had to be pushed out of their comfort zones, and they have done great. Melanie simply could have song Beyonce or Whitney every week, but she changed it up. That is why I think Drew needs to go home.

People that criticize her, there's a big demand for singers like her at the moment. Look at Diana Vickers, she's been on hold for a couple of years and suddenly she's working on an album because people want more. Drew's got talent, that's for sure.
I, personally, really like this performance. It is DEFINITELY her best vocal performance. I think it was a good decision to make this slow and melodic. It's amazing. I always loved this MJ song but Drew takes it to another level and place. She brings a soulful passion that smoulders to this song. Simon was right to contain her movement and make her simply sing the song.

it's not that her performance wasn't good that she got voted off. it's more becasue she always did the same thing, great things, but still the same. she didn't took any chances. ever. all of her performances are the same, although each one is good on it's own.
Simon is a geinious, but he really should have listened to Paula and Nicole and give her an up-tempo song to show more range and to sourprise the audiance.

3) As a result of 2, many parts are devoid of emotion.

I don't personally like her but this performance showed her control in her voice, it showed her maturity, and it showed some emotion. Going around acting like just another teen pop star is not going to get her anywhere. I would buy her album if she sang slow meaningful song like this. Not fast frivolous song with tons of dancing. Good job! You don't need all the props and visual stuff to honour Michael. She brought this song back to the music and lyrics, what music is about. I get that a lot of americans love a spectacular show and go over the top, but a girl singing with a lot of emotion is actually all the world needs. I think people are getting tired of always watching big shows, it's not memorable anymore. This version is!

I think people you are forgetting she has a style and stage presence just like Adele or Amy Winehouse No one asks them to sing differently because it's getting repetitive. This young girl has found her niche now watch her work it. The final piece to the equation is giving her her own music. Not all pop stars write their music. She has the chops and is creative not just a voice that can belt it out such as Melanie. She makes it her own by putting her signature on it.

Simon said himself this show is taking your talent and becoming an artist. Drew IS NOT doing that. She is talented, but she does not diversify her performances. Just disregard Astro for ONE second. Compare her to Melanie and Rachel, those two have had to be pushed out of their comfort zones, and they have done great. Melanie simply could have song Beyonce or Whitney every week, but she changed it up. That is why I think Drew needs to go home.

I, personally, really like this performance. It is DEFINITELY her best vocal performance. I think it was a good decision to make this slow and melodic. It's amazing. I just don't understand why everyone is blaming her for the whole sitting down thing when it's not even her fault. Simon is the one who directs her. I believe that she said something along the lines of "Michael wouldn't sit down in a performance" when they showed her practicing. So it wasn't her fault. She'd 15. Give her a break.
