Thank you for creating this video. I want you to know that I have had this disease since 2002. I was diagnosed with it after months of doctors visits and tests. Your video is my life! I cried while watching it, because I have been struggling with living a "normal" life for almost 10 years. To look at me, you would never know what I live with day in and day out. I can't even remember a day without pain since I was diagnosed. Thank you for sharing because I really thought I was alone.
@TheReefKeepers oh how horrible! I feel for you. I know what it feels like.Have you tried the tea and herbs I mentioned? I took something called Bio-Vegetarian by Priority One. You can ge it online. And I also took Dr. Andrew Weils's anti-imflammatory pills I got from whole Foods. It made a huge difference.
I've been taking Advil for joint & muscle pain and it seems to help a bit. I was also told by a naturopath to take MSM which is a natural pain reliever, devil's claw and a high potency EPA fish oil. I haven't tried these yet, but am willing to try anything. I actually tried the home-made ginger tea for 1 day but I will start drinking that. How long did your virus last? Are you completely healed? I notice some days the rash seems to be getting less and some days it flares up a lot. Thanks.
@magazinefm I drank the ginger drink 2-3x per day. I actually started to look forward to it. It was spicy, hot, and lemony sweet. Drink it faithfully. It really helped to bring my inflammation down. Mine began 2 years ago around Memorial day. By October I was totally back to normal and never had any problem since then. At the time I felt I was never going to be normal again. But now I am even healthier than I was before. I take good care of myself.
@magazinefm and one more thing....as much as I love carbs even healthy ones like oatmeal and whole grains, I found that eating more protein made me feel better. Whenever I ate anything sugary, I flared up. So instead of cereal for breakfast or bagels for example I would eat eggs, cottage cheese, nuts, etc.
I just saw your video and I am experiencing similar symptoms. Mine started with a non-itchy rash on my arms and legs, and then sudden joint pain and swelling. Everyday it would be a different joint, fingers, knees and ankles. I noticed this back in Nov 2010. Dec I went to a hospital that deals in rheumatology. They tested me for parvovirus but to this day I still don't have the results after numerous calls. I was prescribed Naproxyn which help but I don't want to take them for long.
@magazinefm I know what you are going through ! I went to a naturopathic doctor here in Philadelphia since no MD's could help. She told me that Advil was the least toxic. I got through the day taking 4/3-4x per day. I tapered it off when the anti-viral herbs began to work. I took Dr. Weil's anti -imflammatory sold at health food stores and whole foods, a product called Bio Vegetarian by Priority One (sold online), drank lots of the home-made ginger-lemon tea. It all worked well.
I am so sorry you are going through this. Just be careful about others convincing you that you will always be experiencing pain from here on. Both my friend and I who suffered terribly are completely recovered and have been pain-free for over a year now. I did do lots to help myself. Let me know if you want to know specifically what we did and took. Stay positive. I know it's hard. You can get better.
@grandmammamarina Could you please let me know what you did or took for this horrible disease. I had this about 5 years ago and had terrible joint pain. It cam back about 3 weeks ago with mild joint pain, but horrible raised itchy rashes on my skin. I would like to know if there are any websites on this disease that you have found cause I can't find hardly any. Thank you!
So sorry it took so long to answer. I had trouble with my computer. Well, at first i took round the clock Advil 4/4x per day. I went to a Naturopathic doctor since regular MD's said that there was nothing I could do. Her name is Marie Winters in Philadelphia. I took Andrew Weil's anti-imflammatory pills that you can buy at whole Foods or Natural Food Store. Take them regularly. They take a while to work. Continued.........
@ezroc6489 I made large batches of Ginger tea by grating fresh ginger in a pot of water. simmer a few minutes. Let it sit overnight. Next morning strain it. Add lemon and honey. It's really rather tasty. Can drink cold or hot. I drank it all day. This made a huge difference! It began to kick in after a few days. My body began to hurt less. I also took an anti-viral natural medicine called Bio Vegetarian by Priority One. You can buy it online. This began to rid me of the virus. Hope this helps.
@grandmammamarina Hi. I would like hear more from you in detail on what you did & what you took that helped you through the pain & all of the other symptoms. Would you be interested in sharing? If so, how can I contact you?
I have Parvo and my experience is similar to yours. I was told the virus attacks the sheath of the nerves and that I will always have residual pain from the damaged nerves. This virus does attack the nerves in adults!
i was diagnosed with Human Parvo when i was in 3rd grade. The pain in my joints was so bad that i couldnt walk. i am now in 10th grade and i still have joint pain. It just isnt as bad. I never got a rash though.
@Dbomb31195 wow in 3rd grade! That must have been awful. My joint pain was so bad I couldn't walk also.I am so sorry you still have joint pain. So hard for a youngster like you. Some days I feel that way, too. I think the worst is over for us, though.
1. For Parvo your symptoms seem unusual because it does not affect nervous cells. This virus is lytic and infects bone marrow. Most people suffering from this virus would not have any neuro symptoms as you described
2. Garlic, ginger and the other stuff aren't going to do a thing to strengthen your immune system...sorry.
3. Sleep, eating healthy and exercise keep the immune system healthy into very old age.
interesting... The ginger was for inflammation, not immune system. It really helped me. As along as I drank that along with other anti-viral herbs, I weaned myself off of pain drugs. My pain was all joint pain. Th pain in my head and eye was due to Uveitis, an auto-immune disorder, which the MD told me could have been sparked by the Parvo. All is gone now, and I am completely recovered. Thanks for posting.
rcs202 I am so sorry.I'm new at this youtube and I think I deleted your message by accident. I read it, though. My heart goes out to you and your dad. Parvo is awful. I am recovered. It takes time.
I have to thank you so much for posting this! I was diagnosed with Parvovirus in Nov 2009. I started to feel better late Dec. About a week ago, I came down with a rather nasty cold & now I have all my Parvo symptoms all over again - pain all down my left arm, shoulder, fingers, hands & hip. It's so frustrating, but it certainly does help knowing that how I'm feeling is 'normal' I hope you are feeling better & I hope that I will get some relief very soon too :)
Don't give up. After feeling like I was never ever going to feel myself again, I am completely recovered. For me , it took about 3-4 months.Stay positve. I know this is a terrible painful experience!
It is expensive and i had to change my hole diet (stop eating pork any king of sugar or milk for example) and took a hole lot of meds but i finally can say that i feel better. i still have a sour throat sometimes, or feel weaker if i don't get enough sleep. I do need loads of water and avoid salty or sweet food but its only sometimes! other than that i feel fine my memory is getting back and all that.
thansk again you must be helping loads of ppl =) cheers, Susana
Unfortunately to get parvovirus your immune system is already weak, when the virus is no longer active you are left with no solution from the doctors and feeling quite the same way cos it did affects your body and although its no longer active it still does. doctors don't have answers to the unexplainable pain and exhaustion the patient is in.After moths of trying to live a normal life someone told that if traditional medicine wasn't helping i should go see an homeopath.
omg I'm so thankful that someone is doing this! I had it one year ago and it mucked my hole system took me 2 months to figure out what was going on with me, i felt like i was dying and it was horrible! I was 19 at the time and i felt trapped in an old woman's body.
I live in Portugal and basically what i got told is that doctors know the virus will be more active and affect the patients at a certan period of time and after that it's over.
thank you for this video. me and my family have this disease. but i have it the wores. i was in the hospital for 3 week, now i am in rehab learning how to do everything again. your info really has been help full thanks again
Thank you for doing this video, I thought I had Lupus, then my dr tested me spefic for Parvovirus, and sure enough thats what it was....I'm on the mend...I've had it for about a month, and am taking Meloxicam for the inflamation...Take care
Bravo Marina! Excellent heartfelt account of your battle with this dreadful disease. It sounds like you are on a positive trend. All the best to you. We will get past this. P.
