All the things wrong with the second GI Joe series:

1. voice acting; all the tough guy voices were replaced by camp counselor voices, Lady Jaye voice changed, Flint changed to a dude with a southern accent.

2. ridiculous over the top Viper specialists. All Cobra ever needed was Vipers, troopers, and CG.

3. preachiness amped up way too far. Sure there was always a lesson somewhere in the episode, but somehow they did it better the first time around.

4. Ninja Force.

@TVRFan11 No, but it's the G.I. JOE DiC Season 1 intro. The DiC show isn't considered part of continuity to the Sunbow show, so this is a season 1 intro to a G.I. JOE show.

That Cobra Commander figure was actually produced in 1987 while the DiC show didn't start airing until 1989 with the 5-part mini-series "Operation: Dragonfire". A new Cobra Commander figure wasn't released until around 1991/1992.

Sunbow wasn't Japanese. They were incharge of production on G.I. JOE and had Toei Studios animate it. When DiC over took the production series, they chose to animate it themselves.

@shermanvermin76 Hasbro didn't produce the Japanese Transformers series which came after The Rebirth, that was Takara who hold the Transformers brand in Japan. Sunbow didn't let their license expire as they were at least planning the 3rd season of JOE. Hasbro stopped funding the shows. If Sunbow had lost the license, they wouldn't of produced the animation for the Transformers and JOE commericals which came after the shows were cancelled.
