Being that you're only at 39 weeks, I'd wait. It DID work for me, but I didn't have mine done until I was 41 weeks, and there were no other options other than induction. I'd give my body as much time as it needed to decide it wanted to get the baby out naturally. I believe (personally) that trying to force the baby to come quicker makes labor more difficult. See what the doc says though. They definitely know more than I do! :)
omg your birth story was amazing.. i hope mine goes as well.. well except i hope i progress fast but they say with your first baby that doesnt happen your in there for EVER!! but congrats im 28 weeks tomorrow.. and the whole epidural thing don't even worry about it.. you don't even have to prove to anyone that you could do it with out it.. labor and having a baby is a very wonderful thing.. but it does hurt ALOT!! haha good luck with everything
I wish my son had given me time to get the epidural lol went into labor with him at 3:30 in the morning had him at 7:40 of course where Im at the idiots made me sign paperwork for 2 hours before they would even check me out and I had made no false trips to the hospital for fake labor! oh well the hospital is closed now makes you wonder why. glad you had a good hospital to go to, glad you and your baby are ok, and he is beautiful! :) take care.
Hey you only needed an epidural cus you had a 9+ lb baby, your a hero anyway! You got me tiery eyed at the end, makes me so excited to meet our little one in a couple weeks.
Congrats for being in labor. I thought u had planned a home birth? Did u only go in b/c of the water? Is it meconium, sp? Mine wasn't clear either, they had like 4 people check it out, but it wasn't poop, never did find out what it was for sure though.
My next one will be a home birth! I did go in because of the meconium. I was planning on laboring at home, but my plan went to hell in a handbasket! Ahh well. It's over, and that's all that counts!
Congrats! He is gorgeous I seen him in your other video. He was a big baby!! I wouldn't of thought he was going to be that big ..he weighed one more ounce than Helene. Guess we took very good care of our babies while they were in us...lol. I took the epi too...felt bad about it as well but we still did very good so there is nothing to feel bad about.
looking at your beautiful little boy, you deserve a pat on the back look how much of a great mommy you have been already he looks amazingly healthy and he's big too so you took real good care of him while he was in you and even though you looked as if you juct couldnt wait for it all to be over in the last few weeks you look blissfully happy now good luck to you Daren and baby Tadhg i honestly think you are the sweetest family ever :)
i felt guilty having pain relief 2 but i 2 was in agony in labour & i had those heart rate monitors on me from the second i went into labour until the very end because my daughter was constantly in distress i had a 25 hour labour then had 2 have a c-section sometimes the best laid plans just dont work out, and i dont care how tough you are labour pains just effect people differently and even tough moms need some help through it
You only live each day once, live it as though its your last! I never got the full meaning of that saying my dad always said, until he passed away and i was with him, caring for him, spending as much time as i could and it still didn't seem like enough. until afterwards my mom told me. enjoy, you made the best of every minute you could have with him, you can't change the life process-you can only choose to enjoy every step. anyway, i am so happy you are finally(lol)having him.
hi, don't feel bad about having to get an epidural(yes i know its easier said than done when you had your plan, but remember what i said in your video about your water breaking)due to the fact it relieving your pain, you are now able to actually enjoy the moments with your husband as you make each step closer to holding your lil bundle. I guess i just cannot stress enough to you to make the best of every moment, good or bad....see next
oh wow ! i have been checking daily for updates since the headed to the hospital video! I hope the rest of your labor was smooth , I am 39 weeks tomorrow so your videos make me extra anxious lol :) I still have one more video to watch of your baby ! Congrats !!
Wow, I'm so impressed you felt good enough to make this in the middle of labor! Don't feel too guilty about the epi...it's a great tool to use, and for some women can speed up labor (did that for me both times). I hope the rest of your delivery went smoothly...can't wait to find out Fish's name and see what he looks like!
So, does the membrane sweep really work, in your opinion? I'm asking my doctor for one on Monday!

An epidural does NOT mean you "failed".
Don't ever think that!
I'm sure you were wonderful.
