i cant really understand why people defend lin dan, its just bullshit what he did. I always go to my opponent at first after a win because i know thats it not easy to take a loss, espacially in an important match, in this case there are even thousands of viewers and he knew so well that lcw really wanted it badly. And that running-around-stuff at 11-point-interval in the 2nd set, it looked like lind dans coaches had to reprove him for being a huge ratard. hes not 12 years old any more!
after the game those body language will remain on court. i can say that both of them has their ways of saying "eat that!". as far as i can see this badminton still has the Clean image compared to other sports. no tatoos or what so ever.
@powerfultoa7 Wow I think u have just coined a new word! So everytime someone takes off his top and does the breakdance robotic movement after winning, you can say, "He Lin Danced in celebration!!!!!"
Comment to LD: good game. u play psychology with LCW. i see this video.. LD always show up his back ... his butt/ass facing at LCW after he win a point. he never look at LCW... this made LCW felt that LD are strong and didnt give face to him... make LCW no confidence to him self.
Comment for LCW: hey smile a bit la.. be relax! when LD win a point. dont always look at the floor... i have saw this video... realize that LCW always look on the floor while he lose a point... lift up ur head! and be a real guts! .. be strong and be confidence in your self. you win LD before right!! make this happen again! treat him as a normal player. spot his weakness and control the game.
LD: my form is nothing close to 08 Olympic, i was relieved that i was able to pull through the first match up, feeling the pace and recalling the strokes again
LD:i never thought about dancing but it was natural after i won the match and being satisfied of the recovery, but no means to disrespect
Lin Dan said he was nervous, but unlike Lee chong wei who gave too much thought to the pressure, Lin Dan just left all to instincts, LD: i was prepare for a loss, in fact whole chinese team was preparing for a 0-2 loss before anything
Lin Dan claimed the pressure had a major effect on LCW and disabled Lee from his own performance
I am also a Chinese, I like LinDan, even though he was dancing after winning the game, this is just the personality from LinDan, it doesn't mean he didn't respect his opponent, and he was also very friendly with his opponent after winning the game. Please don't blame LinDan just because he celebrated with his own way. And I really don't like"wlmp"and "newbro"'s comments
@micmoy23 Well everyone is entitled to their opinion. Perhaps I'm reading too much into his celebration method, which I still find it to be inappropriate.
In soccer when your score a goal, and took off your shirt and celebrate in front of the opponent's fans, wouldn't you find that to be arrogance? It's basically the same thing here.
Although I did find LD's aftermatch comment to be little sympathetic with LCW's defeat, which is a nice thing to say.
I'm a chinese but I feel ashamed by Lin Dan's act of taking his shirt and break dancing after he won the match point. I mean just wtf!? that's totally not necessary and not too mention disrespectful to your opponent.
Even thou he's one of the best in the world in terms of skills, he stlll have much to learn in terms of sportmanship from the likes of gentlemen such as Lee Chong Wei, or Peter Gade.
@newbro , Yes, I am a Chinese and I like Lin Dan's skills, but this guy really has zero sportsmanship. He 输不起。Remember the time he lost to Lee Chong Wei in a match in Sarawak, he didn't want the silver medal around his neck and took off the hat immediately after the presenter put in on him. He better retire when he is still at his peaks, otherwise he might be thrown into depression when age catches up and he starts losing.
@newbro Hey bro, I think u misunderstand the term sportsmanship. You might wanna check out the word.
That said, I too was surprised that he took off his top as this happens more regularly in soccer. However, all victors needs to let everyone know their triumph and show all their glory. His breakdancing was just his celebration. Who knows, he might flex his biceps and show his teeth in a fiercesome pose like a wrestler/bodybuilder in the future haha!
I agree. Being a champ is not just beating your opponent only. If you are "able" to respect the local culture and norm, the victory respect shall be rendered in full.
@ericbenlim Well i did look up the word and it mention something along the line of "reacting immaturely or improperly", whether this describes it depends on one's view i guess (I still find it to be inappropriate, yes I'm that stubborn lol). But now that I think about I think he simply got way too excited considering how he destroyed LCW in front of all those Malaysian fans.
I watched his match against Taufik, him walking across the court just to shake hand with Taufik put a smile on my face :)
