A) show of force to scare off bad guys, saving troops and innocent bystanders, B) line up for a shot on a target as part of close air support saving troops and innocent bystanders lives, or C) to avoid a surface to air missile (the radar gets confused by a plane that low) to save his own ass. All of those are far more important that wether or not you scare the locals. There are regulation to prevent doing this for no reason

As a former USAF F-16 Crew Chief: I'm so glad there weren't any field hawks in the area. It could have caused a bird-strike. But yes, the F-16 is an awesome aircraft. As for the jet noise: 1 low fly-by shouldn't hurt...especially since the pilot didn't fly directly over the homes. They'll be AWE-IGHT!!!!

Mach 1 refers to the speed of sound in earths atmosphere, which is 761.2 mph. As long as you're in earths atmosphere Mach 1 will always be 761.2 mph regardless of elevation.

Naja kijk als je aangenomen word dan is het eerste jaar in Nederland geloof ik, en dan ga je naar Amerika voor een jaartje voor je Wing zoiets was het geloof ik , en tsja volgens mij is de F-16 meer wendig.. Je moet er gwoon perfect voor zijn (karakter, etc) het is namelijk wel moeilijk om door de selectie heen te komen ;)

Ik ben geen piloot maar een kennis van mij probeerde bij de Air Force piloot te worden maar hij had de selectie niet gehaald. Ze nemen alleen de creme de la creme, en vooral bij de Navy. De vader van mijn vriendin zit op een comitee van een Air Show organisatie, vandaar mijn interesse voor fighter jets / aviation.

Could be a show of force. If it's an area where houses are they may rather show the opposing forces their location is known and they can be bombed if they stay and/or keep engaging. Bombing an inhabited area right away is perhaps not seen as good approach in such situations because of civilian casualties (no expert, just what seem likely to me).
