  • great mat and some hot commentating

  • peterson has a splendid upper bac and trapezius and really thick legs.

  • peterson sure makes that headlock look really tight.

  • Gorman is no slouch either.

  • a good enough match made engaging for the eoverage we get of petersen's physqiue. awesome upper back.

  • r.i.p. cousin dave i never met you but you are my idol my mom has shown me sveral video's and photo's of you its really unfortunate that your life was cut short when you wheren't even at the peak of your career yet....you are missed by all of your family even the youth that wasnt even fortunate enough to meet you

  • Jim Gorman is my dad

  • A pleasure to watch. Some fine, skilled wrestling by both men.

  • well skilled, both guys.

  • At one time, Terry Garvin teamed with his "brother," Ron and was managed by their "baby brother," Jim. Central States had some good wrestling back in the day and St. Louis was the mecca of the NWA.

  • @mkl62 As a child, I watched wrestling from St.Louis, channel 11, from the Chase Park Plaza, The Crusher, Dick the Bruiser, Pat Patterson, The Flying Frenchman, Johnny Valentine ( infamous brain buster from the 2nd rope), Cowboy Bob Ellis, Bob Watts Bobby "Hercules" Graham, man that seemed like yesterday. Lou Thesz,, and Vern Gagne.

  • @12Daniel7 Personally, I would like to see the NWA hold a pay-per-view in Waterloo, Iowa in July, since that is where it all started in July 1948.

  • @mkl62 A couple I forgot to mention was Gene Kiniski, and Wilbur Snyder, Dory ( Spinning leg lock) Funk, Cowboy Bob Orton, Larry "The Axe " Henning. Waterloo Iowa, home of Dan Gable, lost only once, in his collegiate career Iowa State, the NCAA Finals. U.of Iowa most winningest coach ever.

  • these guys look great and put on a great match

  • Great bout.

  • Great match! Thanks for posting.

I'm really glad I found your Youtube page...

  • was this Central States?

  • Sure was! Great to see this again.

BTW, the ring announcer was Terry Garvin.

  • yes this is NWA Central States aka NWA All-Star Wrestling BEFORE Jim Crockett Promotions bought out NWA Promoter Bob Geigel and got them a better ring and television productions

  • Miss this kind of wrestling.

  • He was better known as DJ Peterson. He came up with Hall Jannety and Michaels. His fault was bad mic skills. Very good in the ring.

  • @ the 5:00 min mark - When was the last time you saw a referee actually check the shoulders that well during a school boy? I miss the days of when wrestlers actually worked every hold and the fans believed it.
