I saw that part of the debate. His reason for not voting for the cap was because he felt 30 percent was a ridiculously high interest rate, and he felt that voting for it would condone 30 percent interest rates.

Like my Advanta CC that went from a 7.9 APR to 30% APR. For no reason at all. My FICA score is 820 and I have excellent credit. They just sent me a notice and poof they made my rate 30%.
