The song expresses the main emotions that Elfman intended to express. Curiosity, a sense of unknown, a newfound experience, discovery. With these emotions comes fear and confusion. I think flyleaf perfectly incorporated all such emotions and created a perfectly listenable version.

That's my opinion. I love this song.

if Elfman wanted it to sound depressing, he would have made it sound depressing. If you watch the film, jack is no where near depressed. It is meant to be an exciting song, as Jack is a very cheerful character.

First of all, I am a HUGE fan of Flyleaf but I think they've definitely done better. Comparing this to the original, it's a little too monotonous to me. And it sounds like the singer (Lacey Mosley) is singing more like she's upset, confused, or sad ect., opposed to the original where Jack is definitely more curious. It's also a little slow for my taste. But this is just my opinion!!

I absolutely love Flyleaf but this was a tiny bit of a dissapointment. I love her voice, all of her songs except it sounded like she was trying too hard to make the song her own version. She took it so far it even sounds more emotional than their other songs. I'd like to hear them try to fit the mold of this song instead of the other way around.

...FOB teared this song to shreds...it was second to Panic!'s (unnecessary) cover of This is Halloween as the worst track one the bonus disc. I kinda wish they had excluded Manson's from the first one it they were planning on releasing this because it is the only one carried over. that and I would buy this CD in a second because his rendition is just stupendous. That being said...I don't overly like this one better...but I will safely say that FOB's is not and will never be "good".

You've got a point. But, I think the FOB version fits better because it's just excited which is what Jack's emotions are during this song. But this sounds very slow and sad.
