  • This is like being on a rocket ship heading into outer space.

  • "we got bgored waiting for tour sowe figured we'd play a few shows" = inception of the Island Tour....best time I ever had (in highschool).

  • I love the faces Trey makes :)

  • wtf is this shit

  • jesus christ... fasten your seatbelts... when trey plays that lick at the end coming back into the main jam progression ..... that is really surpassing and breaking some sort of musical jam barrier

  • Silverchair is Mike Gordon!!!

  • @shaneomeezy lol, that would be great

  • the bridge at 3:05 is absofreakinlutely awesomeness!

  • one of my favorite jams right here! the drumming is genius. i just saw moe. cover this in albany it was totally on point!

  • @JBPhish73 that's rad.

  • YEA the boys are back In Portland tonight been A while since Maine

  • how sick is this?.....the sickest!!!

  • cool, but imo the best stash and possibly best phish show period is 12.30.94 look it up there's vids on youtube

  • I've seen listened to The Grateful Dead since I've been 15 and seen 23 shows, but just CANNOT GET INTO PHISH......

  • So who cares? If you don't like it don't post about it. I like them both but they're very different. To each his own.

  • @PhillyCheech if you didnt just get in to phish after hearing that fucking raw jam i feel sorry for you

  • Someday Phish fans will be saying the same thing about the next BIG thing in improvisational rock and roll.........

  • Stash- means drag thingy?

  • nicu middle 6:16

  • hippie flip you mean?

  • Always a great light show too. Kuroda does an awesome job.

Very in touch with the band and the music

  • very true i always love the lighting, almost like a fifth member of the band

  • exactly. Cant make fest 8 but thankful for the east coast dates. Gonna be a sick run

  • i know it's hard - but get me right now...

there are three "passes", that means the timing and keys may change, but still be in same pass perfection. also it helps alot listening to the song, and if you like it - you might even play it by ear.

just ask me if you need some advices for practicing the dificult sections, i used one week on the perfection and passes myself.

  • i bet way past half of you fans are guitarists, and really - this song is quite easy to play! there's only three passes and when you know them you play the song perfectly good.

  • well, the middle section where he does the octave thing, the keys change, and the timing goes from 4/4 to 5/4 and back. is pretty hard

  • Quite easy to play perfectly? Do you mean easy-easy like "Wish You Were Here"? Or do you mean relatively-easy compared with, say, Tuck Andress' "Europa"? Or easy if you have a solid foundation in gypsy jazz picking, a fundamental knowledge and practice of jazz theory (to fluidly play those dim7 arpeggios) and a fast hand.

  • I just loved this song since 7th grade i think, so now I just play it by ear. I've always been "against" all the theory freaks, who always puts up music as sort of a calculation. You don't need to do that - you can easily play this by using the uploaded tabs on the various pages!

I don't know Tuck Andress and tbh i don't wanna check him out either, but I would compare the difficulty of the song with Mac Riff by Uffe Steen or Fela by Ibrahim Electric!

  • why wouldn't you want to check out someone who is considered amazing by a fellow Phish fan? I have never heard of Uffe Steen, but because of your recommendation I will check him out.

  • 4:48 when John smiles at the crowd. Sends shivers down my spiiiiiiiine!!!!

  • Seeing you, why are there things you can't say in person? What do you have to be scared of? I am only someone just like you. I appreciate it more when you can look me in the eyes and tell me what is on your mind.

  • seeing them august 16th

    my friend got free tickets!!

    gonna hippytrip for sure :)

  • seeing them the day before

  • seeing them the day before that!

  • Comment removed

  • crunchy tunes man

  • haha the clapping thats so sick

  • yeah I saw that phish fiddle thing too, that is crazy. its amazing how good it sounds. stash would sound good with an orchestra.

  • fucking sick, long live Sir Trey

  • try watching this here at you tube: Phish fiddle - Ann Marie Calhoun

  • ahhh quick! Part II! Must know what happens next!!

  • Fucking Silverchair....boggling our sensitive minds all the time ;p

  • D harmonic minor folks sounds cool huh. Trey got lazy and addicted. I saw Phish when they were at the peak unbelievable stuff but they fizzled out as the years went by when Billy Breathes came out it was over for me. I might see what they do on the reunion. Wedge is a personal favorite for me. Late

  • Spot on. This was a great little tour tho. Thank you silverchair!

  • Dorian works just fine as well

  • great stuff....glad I found Silverchair......

    music is love...

  • the solar garlic starts to rott means in my mind you cant control nature and control for smilers cant be bought means you cant control people!!! maybe so maybe not!!!you are powerless over people playes and things!!!

  • maybe so, maybe not. Here they come everyone!! 6 more months

  • are they ever touring again?

  • the solar garlic starts to rot

  • i dont think so

  • lol read the lyrics

  • lol

  • Okay...haven't seen my favorite Phish song live in...forever. This calls for an occasion. I'm gonna go blaze for first time in months. w3rd

  • chill pill love this song

  • God... Memories of jamming in my college dorm working out the parts to this - total joy... what a cool amalgamation of latin jam and childlike playfulness... my highlight was performing this tune in drag on halloween wiht a buddy on bass in a plaid suit - nobody in the audience got it but I loved it

Thanks Phish for inspirational jams and compositions (my fave era was early 90's culminating in A Live One - loved that album...

  • I've seen Phish (well saw) about 22 times I think? I'd have to count my stubs. The best performance of this song I ever saw....Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo Michigan of all places. To play so wonderfully in such a remote place just shows how damned good they are, college town or not.

  • What a classic jam. What I really love about Phish is how they never really do a song completely the same.

  • Control for smilers can't be bought

  • you got the BEST Phish videos!

  • Did you ever notice that all of the best songs contain the word "dogmatogram"?

  • kind of.

  • what other songs have it?

  • Mary Had A Little Lamb, Amazing Grace, those are the only ones I can think of right now

  • What other songs have dogmatogram in them? My friend Mark asked me once,"what three songs have lyrics about nipples?" I laughed really hard and quickley said.."Fee, Punch You In The Eye, and _____".. I know I told him three but I can't remember the third right now for the life of me?I answered so matter of fact..how dare he ask me such an easy one? Yeah right, thats a tough one I think. I did answer very quickly though. OH YEAH THE SLOTH!! "I'll take this piece of paper, and slice your nipple"

  • yeah what other ones?

im a new phan and the more songs i can get, the better : )
