That was NOT lindy hop... there was not even a single swing out! There was one point when they took one step away from each other and lifted the arm like it was, but that was not a swing out, and this was not lindy hop :(

All they're actually doing are aerials which are showy for the audience because she's a gymnist, but their actual lindy hop footwork is sloppy and the only do it for like 20 seconds. Not a real dance in my opinion...

That girl could be one helova lindy hopper if she was taught properly. She is in great shape and a gymnist which makes things easier. Pitty they didn't even do a send out. I think some of us lindy hoppers should storm the stage live and just start lindy hopping in front of the dancers. lol! Then everyone would be like "oh I get it!"

Haha, I agree. The ones who got closest to a real Lindy were Chelsie and Ty--they limited their stunts appropriately and made sure to do at least a few swing-outs. Plus Chelsie had the appropriate swivel styling for those swing-outs.

Nothing against Mark & Shawn, though; both are great performers and great dancers. But this just wasn't their strong point.

thats how she does, all her tricks. watch her beam routines, she always looks dangerously low, but its just because she is so short and her back isnt as flexible. she relies on leg strength, both in gymnastics and in dancing

I thought it had more gymnastics infused in it more than the lindy hop itself, then there were moments when Shawn seemed to hesitate about the moves and also a few moments where it appeared like Mark was dragging her. She should've moved faster. Her backflips were awesome though. They deserved higher than 25.

That's because there was none.

She opened with a PERFECT round-off back-handspring layout. There were a few front and back tuck-ish moves that were slightly assisted by Mark, but no aerials.

She did amazing! I love how much energy she has and how into every dance she gets. She's always got a smile on her face and you can tell she's really having fun and working hard.

I'd bet money she and Mark will win. Shawn's gymnastic skills give her a HUGE advantage.
