Rocketryman - My religion does not negate that Jesus existed. We just don't recognize him as our Messiah that we are waiting for. Our Messiah has specific qualifications that Jesus did not and does not meet. It's really quite simple. According to our Torah - G-d will never be in human form and our Messiah in no way is expected to make claim to a deity. I don't claim to have answers to the universe, but find comfort in my faith as a Jew and hope you find peace you need in your religion.

@turquoise770 You are obviously reading a Greek or Latin interpretation of Hebrew. If you want to know what King David was really taking about...ask a Rabbi. Your old testament is not our Torah that we study. Hebrew is a very complex language with multiple interpretations which is why some people say you can ask the same question to two Rabbis and get four answers. Because something is popular or well known does not make it true. BTW...many Christian bibles and only one Torah?

Lets see in the book of Matthew the Genilogy of Jesus says he is decended from Jeconiah but his line was cursed according to Jeremiah 22:30 that Jeconiah's decendents wont sit on the thorne. Gen 23:19 says Abraham is buried in Hebron. why does it say he is buried in Schem according to Acts?

OK, the way I understand it... Jew-ish or Jew, is a person. Judaism is the religion. So when the rabbai says that a Jew can't be a Christian is false. A Jew is of the ethnic background, meaning a person, which can be a Christian. Can a person beliving in judaism be a Christian, NO! The rabbai would be exactly right. He said that in opposition to the Jew for Jesus guy, who says one can be both a believer in Judaism and acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah, which the Rabbi says is basically Christianity under the guise of Judaism, and the reason why he implores that the other person say so.

Rocketryman - My religion does not negate that Jesus existed. We just don't recognize him as our Messiah that we are waiting for. Our Messiah has specific qualifications that Jesus did not and does not meet. It's really quite simple. According to our Torah - G-d will never be in human form and our Messiah in no way is expected to make claim to a deity. I don't claim to have answers to the universe, but find comfort in my faith as a Jew and hope you find peace you need in your religion.

Your old testament is not our Torah that we study. Hebrew is a very complex language with multiple interpretations which is why some people say you can ask the same question to two Rabbis and get four answers. Lets see in the book of Matthew the Genilogy of Jesus says he is decended from Jeconiah but his line was cursed according to Jeremiah 22:30 that Jeconiah's decendents wont sit on the thorne. Gen 23:19 says Abraham is buried in Hebron. why does it say he is buried in Schem according to Acts?

You can be of the Jewish religious system and believe that Jesus was indeed the God sent representative. Heck, all it takes is for you to believe it. Nowadays religions pop up like pop rocks. As a Jew and an atheist, I can certainly see why any Jew would be offended by Christianity. I even became a Christian myself for a short while and quickly discovered what a sham it is. It's an evil cult that hides behind a philosophy of fake "love" for their fellow man. In reality, it's an arrogant passive-aggressive death cult that cripples the mind with thoughts of eternal torment. You listened to Moses, but fail to listen to the Son of God, even though you have been instructed by Moses to do everything He says. OK, the way I understand it... Jew-ish or Jew, is a person. Judaism is the religion. So when the rabbai says that a Jew can't be a Christian is false. A Jew is of the ethnic background, meaning a person, which can be a Christian. Can a person beliving in judaism be a Christian, NO! The rabbai would be exactly right. Same idea as gays can't be Christian and gay at the same time. The sin of homosexuality must be repented of and stopped. Those are the rules. Same concept....

@Landotter1 No, I think what the Rabbi is saying is that Judaism is not about ethnicity- 'one can be gentile and expose a throughly Jewish message'- rather, Judaism is about following the Tanakh, basically what you are saying. He said that in opposition to the Jew for Jesus guy, who says one can be both a believer in Judaism and acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah, which the Rabbi says is basically Christianity under the guise of Judaism, and the reason why he implores that the other person say so.
