I want to watch this movie so freaking badly, the chance it will be screened here in the netherlands will probably be 0,00000001% :( i hope it will be avaibable for buying soon :)
According to the kickstarter website which funded most of the movie you guys managed to raise $71,335 pledged of the $35,000 goal to make the movie.
So how come, you are now charging people to view your film when it was completely funded by the same people that were interested in it in the first place?
@Shijo872nd See, when you don't live FreeMoneyLand, entrepreneurs, in this case filmmakers, needed funding to create projects. That entails, travel, equipment, hiring crews and talent, post groups, distribution, promotions. The kickstarter is exactly that... it KICKSTARTS (see how that works?!) the project... it isn't PROFIT for the filmmakers time and effort. These people are trying to make a living from filmmaking, they've created something people want to see. More power to them.
@bragodahh Because they've put a lot of work into it and deserve to make a profit off of their hours of labor? Besides, if I'm not mistaken anyone who donates a certain amount on Kickstarter gets a copy for free when it's done.
I think, (in my own honest opinion ofcourse) Edmund Mcmillen is one of the best if not THE best person involved in the indie game development industry. First of all, his games are diverse and never the same thing over and over again. He tries to put his own feelings and beliefs into his games (like in the video above, Aether is a great example of that) which is quite special I think. Also I guess i'm a "creative person", and I can relate alot to Edmund in that aspect of feeling alone as a kid.
@TheRealNosserMan Well honestly it's always a good idea to check someone out when as a child he draws groteque imagery. Don't get me wrong, I love the style and all his games and I don't think he needs help, but on a larger scale such drawings do usually indicate a cry for help.
I don't know if Edmun McMillen will read this: but his upbringing almost completely mirrors my own: down to his family structure and how he was raised by his grandmother. My mind is quite blown.
@Ocolith Yeah, sorry for the 'New Video False Alarm' :/ We chopped off the longish beginning piece and removed some note referring to the Kickstarter campaign. Basically making it a little more relevant if this is the first time someone is watching it.
Wow..I'm so going to buy this movie now. Also when i was younger i use to draw like somewhat that.

Why are you charging for the digital download of this movie after the whole thing was funded by Kickstarter? Is there no limit to your greed?!

@Btrtoast Because all the people who play CoD and Gears and all those other fucking stupid shooters don't give a fuck about indie games

@gohansupersayan way to generalise :).. I play both indie games and bigger games. Please don't spew random nonsense
