  • Do he still live in Wales ?

  • he lives in abergavenny has a small farm

  • whats not to like about this i grew up with labbi pure nostalga as for other pr///

  • haven't heard this for ages. Like it even more now.

  • I agree, the chord opening has been lifted from Mellissa'...which predated this cut by 4 years...more base and fuller sound from Labi....saw him do a little acoustic set some years ago....good performer live.

  • ((((((-_-)))))) InThAzOnE

  • I like Labi Siffre, but the chord progression was totally ripped off from the Allman Brothers "Melissa".

  • so sweet x come listen to my version of 'must be love' rate comment please x

  • I adore this song, I use to do this in my set. I still fined myself singing it some times.

i haven't seen Labi for about 20 years now .Last time I seen him was In a Market in Cardiff, I believe he still lives in Wales.

  • dont like it why listen to it p////

  • I'd love to meet this guy..

I love all that he's done, cannot find one bad track anywhere!

    Truly an inspiring artiste.

  • Never mind, didn't know Kanye did a song based on Labi Siffre's "My song"...

  • Loveeee Labi Siffre :)

  • never thought i'd say thanks p diddy

  • He kinda reminds me of Sam Cooke.

  • yeah Kanye did put mei on Labi thanx bruh

  • What a nice little song.

  • sock it to em labi !!!!

  • this reminds me of the song something in the air

  • @sbby454 That's exactly what I thought listening to the opening chords! Nice uplifting song.

  • @sbby454 Exactly what I was thinking!

  • First Chords as a Bread's song.

  • He's so cute!!

  • Fabulous

  • Absolutely charming.

  • caught this guy bout '70-'71 on tv here in nz down under.great talent.has control of his audience.one of the clever singer songwriters of that era ala gilbert o'sullivan.thanks for the post.

  • best singer ever been a fan since 1971

  • so have i hes the best wot a voice

  • Why do you think he is the best singer? Just because he has childs voice? He doesnt show any voice techinque or anything..just high voice :\ and in the pitch.. I dont understand you people just liking the high voices..

  • @chorister88 its not coz he has a hight voice its the way he uses it

  • @chorister88 you don't know what you're talking about, - listen to the words - they're called lyrics in the real world....

  • Comment removed

  • @chorister88 Ok ill answer you either got 'soul' or you aint simple. An analogy you may be the most gifted orater but have the charisma of a door handle,or you may be poor speaker but you captivate or enchant your audience by your magnetism and spirit .You might be a technicall good singer but if it aint right inside its going no where

  • Love you, Labi!

  • What a fab trip down memory lane. One of my all time favourite songs. Many thanks for post

  • great song anybody know what album its from have checked out available cd's no luck

  • its on his best of cd

  • just the best been a fan since 1970

  • A friend introduced me to this song and I always loved it. Only 3 guitar chords but a good lead guitar counterpoint and an awesome bass line...

Thanks to Labi Siffre, Eminem has been famous by sampling "I got the..." into "My Name Is"

  • Makes me believe in love...

  • There's something magical about watching this, he has this kind of twinkle in his eye as he is singing.

  • Labi Siffre - It Must Be Love

  • And another 10 stars from me. Labi is a phenominal song writer, poet and to boot has an awesome delivery and voice.

  • ten fucken stars. **********

  • Very few artists make a strong statement with sincerity. Some political poets are just posers. Labi Siffre's songs are as powerful as Bob Dylans or Joan Baez's. "Something Inside So Strong" was such a defiant barrier to bigottry of every type. His stance hasn't changed on human rights issues for decades. He should've been at the recent Mandela concert in place of Winehouse.

  • Gram you are so lucky to have met Labi..I am a die hard fan, my favourite song on planet earth 'Make My Day' by labi, hell its on my phone ringer, I would follow him to hell if that is what it took, God has shined on planet earth. I had the chance 15 years ago to see him in a small pub in Plymouth, what an idiot, some girl came first..no idea who she was!

  • Labinottttttt Baj.... Dreqii !!! ;)

  • the allman brothers should sue

  • Why?

  • I can really understand your comment, I'm sure you're an Allman Brothers fan. But I really think Labi did a fine job on this song; it has some fine romance in it and it's so simple. Did you know Lennon and McCartney in their early years would look at chords and patterns of their idols and use them in their own songs? It's a matter of inspiration, I guess... I read it, dont ask any examples, lol. I like 'Sweet Melissa' as well, by the way. Cheers!

  • Well said.

  • cool song im 18 and like Music from the 60/70 thies sounds Good

  • I met Labi twice after concerts. What a nice man and what a wonderful voice. This is just terrific. Tks

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Labi in London around 15 years ago. Labi was a judge in the final of a song contest in which a song I had written was selected. Although my song didn't actually win, Labi did make very favourable comments about it and he give me some very helpful advice. Labi is certainly very knowledgeable in many styles of music and a really nice guy too.

  • This Show Looks Better Than TRL and 106 & Park!

    -=PEACE=-

  • of course, its not american.

  • such a delight! I can never be bored listening to Sifre! His voice is pure magic, and his lyrics cut to the core - in the simplest way!

  • hey toy boy, yet I doubt u r if u r a true labi fan!!!!!~ No offence. I agree, what a voice, have had the pleasure of seeing him once in concert - fantastic - he was in his sandals!!! - ps when i say i doubt u r a true labi fan, purely cause of the toyboy reference!!!! you could well be as old as me!!!!

  • this intro sounds like the intro to "I Wanna Make It With You" by Bread

  • love it

  • Genius, simple as that

  • 'Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying' was the first album I ever bought (1972). Sad that he has renounced all his singing/songwriting, and said he will never perform again.

  • Forgotten Hero, fantastic voice, and let's be glad Labi is making good Dollar out of Kanye West!

  • i wanna know how he's making money off him too? kanye sampled some of his tracks or something?

  • Listen To "My Song"

  • Starts off sounding like "Something in the Air" by Thunderclap Newman

  • true, but still a great song

  • Also starts like Bread's "Make It With You". I saw Labi Siffre live a few tmes. A unique voice and style. Years ahead of time!

  • He shares a similar fashion with Kanye West, who sampled him in "I Wonder" on Graduation LP.

  • I havent been able to find this song anywhere. Does anyone know where I could download it from?

  • here too

  • labi sifre .great talent.thank u kanye west for intoducing me to his music.

  • @hisholyhoviness How did Kanye introduce you to Labi Siffre? I just came across him looking up the artist of "It must be love" and I'm glad I did. This man is amazing!

  • First time I hear this song ,but I was baught up with his music...my mom is so smart...I love u mom.

  • I'm so glad I wasn't alive when "2G's and the Pop People" was around. Labi is fantastic though!

  • My favourite Labi Siffre song. Well done for fishing this one out...

  • Never heard this song before from Labi, but it was like a breath of fresh air, very good, this man ouses talent - thanks for posting..
