or u can turn into a triangle and use the sine rule: a/SinA = b/SinB = c/SinC so that it goes T1/sin40=T2/sin40=Fg/sin100...­to get T1 u can go sin40x(Fg/sin100)=130.54N and T2=130.54 also quicker and much easier but a little tricky to get at first try :D doesnt mean you shouldnt use the one thats been shown coz if u wanna demonstrate to ur markers that you understand this concept then i recommend the video but if you just wanna answer the question quickly and easily...i recommend sine rule :D

I just wanted to thank you for your presentation. It really helped me figure out the equilibrium of tensions that were not-symmetric e.g. the strings had two different angles each from the 100-lb weight. I figured it out !!!! finally after about 5 days. !!!! thanks again.
