  • OMG, now this is why Utube is so great. This is so classic 60's TV and I was 14 when this little known gem was produced. My gosh it is a time machine!

  • I swear, this must've inspired the new comedy "Work It", where it's the same premise as a guy poses as a woman to keep his job.

Unfortunately, I don't see that one lasting a whole season, either...

  • @LaDracul

Don't forget Bosom Buddies with Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari. Another inspiration.

  • Did you know this show reolaced the wildly popular and successful BATMAN after ABC canceled it after 2 seasons. The show did not last long on the air neither when the network put the show opposite Daniel Boone which kill it in the ratings for the 1968-1969 season. The show that replaced The Ugliest Girl In Town when it was canceled by ABC? The Tom Jones Show aka This Is Tom Jones!

  • FYI: "The Ugliest Girl In Town" was produced by the same people who brought you

"Bewitched" and "The Flying Nun",and it was filmed on location in both Hollywood and London,England that lasted one season on ABC-TV from September 26,1968 until January 30,1969. "The Ugliest Girl In Town" was the show that replaced the wildly popular BATMAN after 2 seasons.

  • not ugly i think so

  • Actually I think this show could have developed well. Or at least found another vehicle for the guy who stars in it. He's cute and is actually kind of funny.

  • Were all the episodes filmed in England, or did they only use actual locations for the pilot?

  • I watch this show when it was on originaaly. I was very disappointed when it was cancelled.

  • when i was a kid--me and my sisters giggled at the show--thought it was fun--at the time

  • I watched every episode of this as a kid - Thursday nights at 7:30. I loved it and fell in love with London from this show! But now 40 years on, it really doesn't hold up too well. Interesting that James Frawley -- who directed a lot of the Monkees episodes -- also directed this. Thank you for posting!

  • I loved this show. Peter was so talented and cute. It was fun to watch. I hope to see the final episode of the series. I missed it because I had to be in a stupid beauty contest, which I didn't even get to semi-finals.

    It was a fun series.

  • How could anyone get drunk/high/desperate enough to create this, much less BUY it for the network?!!! It has nowhere to go. "Tune in each week to see if Timmy loses his wig!"

  • Patricia Brake - What a *star* and still doing TV shows to this very day!

  • PETER KASTNER Died Sep. 18, 2008

Actor Peter Kastner died of a heart attack at age 64.

  • Peter Kastner was on youtube last year or 2007. I forget how I found him on here but I did send him an email and he responded. He was living in Canada.

Let it be a lesson to us: don't hesitate to tell someone that you're a fan! We never know how long we have with anyone.

I didn't know he had died until I read your post. :-(

  • Yes, R.I.P. Peter!

  • R.I.P. Peter Kastner.
