First time I've seen this. To me, John Wayne was an actor who over - acted in many of his films. Maybe it was his delivery, I don't know. Still, the man was a star and as can be seen from this sketch, he wasn't afraid to send himself up. RIP, Sir. Just in case I get 'flamed' for my comments, please don't waste your venom! I liked 'Big John' in many of his movies, and have enjoyed many hours of his work - but I still say he over-acted on numerous occassions. VBG Thanks for uploading this. :-)
@Factnotfictionpeople He wasn't the best Actor in the world, and he even admitted that.Having said that.HIS MOVIES WERE AWESOME ! Esp the ones he made after he was 50+.
GREAT SKIT!!! Always loved The Duke!! Thankfully so does my other half-maybe too much-but we have his & hers t.v'.s!! lmao...Red was super too!(my whole family-7 of us, has red hair, except my mom. She said her original color was Auburn,I dunno...)
Bigoted? The closes thing I can remember to bigotry was in a play boy interview concerning blacks in public office. His comment was something like.
"I don't see that they are ready for public office because they have been victims of bigotry and have not been afforded the education or experience to run for public office"
He as great Friends with Sammy Davis jr. Now he was a war hawk in Vietnam and a John bircher . Super conservative but he married three Latin women and was on Carters side in t
@ferdonandebull There is a video I posted with portions of the 1971 PLAYBOY interview ..watch it if you dare. I really wish you yahoos would quit trying to rewrite history ; its always Ronnie Reagan and John Wayne, American Heroes....not.
@Rcksaltnnails Marriage is servitude , mister. Early on in his life ,Wayne was denied permission to marry his first girlfriend , who was white. Her father didnt approve of the young college student/movie extra. .White slave owners screwed their female slaves , but still considered them LESS a human being than themselves ;. If nothing else Wayne came from a generation that had certain ideas about minorities and their place in society .Wipe the saddle dust from your eyes and do some research.....
John Wayne and Red Skelton. 2 of the greatest guys that ever lived.
Too bad I never really got much of a chance to grow up with any of their shows. But thanks to the power of dvd and blue ray, I've got some great shows and clips to remember them by.
Memorial Day was created by the evil ILLUMINATI. It's their way of mocking all the military people that murdered and died for the ILLUMINATI causes! Memorial Day is disgustingly evil. The U.S. soldiers are not "defending" our freedoms here in America. The mind controlled U.S. soldiers are defending the evil interests of their true masters that rule from Rome (the synagogue of Satan)! I have evidence of this sad fact.
A very funny guy and a very famous draft dodger!
