  • sounds like jack black talking

  • THIS IS OBVIOUSLY ARNOLD SWARTZENAGER

  • @coldironhands1 who?

  • Ok im gonna go try one out now... thanks again for another awesome demo sir!

  • one dude said. ... 6v6 tubes are hard to find if you want to replace them.

  • @Silverspring777 are you being sarcastic? Sometimes it's hard to tell online. They definitely are not hard to find, more than you can handle, nos,new production of all brands.

  • @glassbottleblues Hey, sorry i mean in my country, south america is hard to find a 6v6 more than a 6L6, so I'll get a blues deluxe. greetings

  • Who else thinks he sounds like Jack Black?

  • He sounds like Schwarzenegger.

  • I have to ask... THis is the same price as a Deluxe Reverb Ri -- Seemingly Channel one based on the DR.. with the Burn Channel offing tons of grinding tones... Why don't we see these everywhere out there.. ? Seems like a great deal

  • Question Gearmmandude ! What's your all time favorite Blues amp ? Think BB King , Muddy Waters , Gary Moore style . The softer side of Blues . Old school but early electric .

  • Hi there,

I'm a germandude and after i saw your vid, i bought this amp asap!

  • Straight out of "True Romance".

  • That is so silly... Morgan Freeman doesn't play guitar..

  • i had a super-sonic head and cab...the cab was the shit, but the head was just shit

  • He sounds like Jack Black.

  • Gearmandude you are awesome. If I had a god dang job Id own this and a Twin Reverb....if only.

  • Have this amp in sea foam green. Just love it. First decent amp I have owned since I was a kid and had an old Fender Reverb which cost 50 bucks used at the time. Same amp would go for God knows how much now.

  • How does this compare to the 60 watt version and the 100 watt version?

  • @AuntNastyOven Not as loud.

  • he sound like fucking christian slater

  • Definetly Jack Black! BTW the amp sounds great!

  • sounds cool

  • Comment removed

  • Perfect Machine...

  • this guy sucks!!!!!

  • Fuck yeah, this guy's having fun.

  • My main question: Is this loud enough to be heard of your average drummer?

  • @steev1durge

a 15watt tube amp is plenty to be heard over a drummer, even a tiddly 6watter can work in the right situation/space. This is a significantly louder 22watts.

  • Is this jack black? :L

  • *comparing gmd to Jack Black comment*

  • jables

  • Gearman...DUDE, While this thing sounds superb and has plenty of volume,

I sure wish you would have mentioned a few things before I bought it!

First, in order to change tubes, you have to REMOVE THE SPEAKER.

Then, no-one mentioned that the baffle board is GLUED IN!

Lastly, your choice of replacement speakers is VERY limited due to

    almost no space back there.

  • @Echoplex1 you should have built an amp

  • Sounds like batman!! :P

  • OMG!!!! This guy sounds JUST like Rowlf from The Muppet Show!!

  • OMG!!! you sound exactly like Phyllis Diller!

  • this sounds llike jack black

  • if i ever upgrade from my blues junior, this will be the one!

  • hell most plugins too

  • some SS amps sound better than this

  • @huanton2many Such as?

  • @huanton2many show me one, and i will buy you any piece of gear you want.

  • Ok, OMG You sound exactly like George Cloonney!

  • Ok i'm going to buy SupSonic 22 !

  • Really cool amplifier! A new classic that will be around for a long time. Thanks for the test drive.

  • this amp has the best tone i ever heard! seriously!

  • own this amp, the surf green one, changed the tubes love it alot

btw this isnt jack black, he demos all this stuff cuz he works at guitar emporium, the one about 15 minutes from my house btw, you guys should try the time bomb boost and luther drive also very nice pedals and very nicely priced

    (the ones he makes)

  • Jack Black??

  • Only Jack Black could afford all this shit he demos, think about it...

  • I think its a good demo.

  • In stock form this is by far the best sounding amp Fender has ever made.

  • tune your guitar dude

  • @coffeewithsoup ...facepalm.

  • Thowing Picks at 11:10!!!!!

  • I played through one of these amps with the telecaster from fender and with Reverb on 10 and in the vintage channel it sounds good

  • I would really like to hear your king bee relic telecaster through that amp.

  • "Obligatory Jack Black joke."

  • OMG it totally is jack black, though! Im sorry, but it totally is :P

  • REVERB SUCKS!!!!

  • @Phishboy26

Well... Everyone's entitled to their own fucked up reality I guess.

  • @Phishboy26 I can only assume you are a Phish fan, and if I'm right presumably a Trey Anastasio fan. The same Trey who has rocked a blackface Deluxe REVERB for many years now. Do you honestly have any idea what you are talking about?

  • @BillieBreathes I know he used a Fender Deluxe Reverb, but his was modded. Its not the same as a standard Deluxe Reverb is it? Nope.

  • @Phishboy26 ...then don't use it?

  • Is this Jack Black?

  • Nice demo. Very thorough coverage of this amp's capabilities. I bought the original 60watt head (Vibro/Bassman version) and run it through an Avatar Vintage 2x12 with Celestion Heritage speakers. This heads sounds massive and has plenty of power. The burn channel took a little getting used to, but the EQ is nice and wide. This demo shows the amp with a Strat, but a Tele sounds great and with a little EQ change, my Les Paul roards through this amp. one of Fender's best amps in years!

  • This amp sounds bad ass!!! You are one of the best gear demo dudes out here. Thanks for puttin' in the time.

  • best amp demos on youtube... period!

  • 12:12 Might one call it a... "Rage-Cage?" XD XD

    Sorry, Jack Black joke

  • I;m not sure whether to get this but the 112 or the hot rod deluxe 3......what would you say?

  • To me, the little square push buttons kill the vibe of this amp.

  • So boring, switching ProGuitarShop's channel, shorter and sweeter.

  • omg dude you sound exactly like morgan freeman!

  • Comment removed

  • @y3k23k More like Jack Black.

  • @y3k23k Morgan Freeman you say? You sir, are tone deaf lol

  • @y3k23k nice!

  • @y3k23k Are You Serious? Morgan Freeman? He Sounds Like Jack Black For Sure.... I hope this isn't how you listen to the actual amp tones.... :)

  • @u2bmusicman It was a joke...

  • @y3k23k well not at all

  • @joe2black1 it was a joke...

  • @y3k23k He sounds more like Chris Farley in Wayne's World

  • @y3k23k he sounds like jack black

  • Jack black? Is that you?

  • 12:53 his daughter: dad?

  • ha ha jack black

It would help if you didnt put the same emphasis on the words in the way he does too!!

Perhaps you will just have to accept it.

I dont know why but I dont like your demos. Maybe I dont like fender amps!

Anyway im gonna hit the road Jack!

  • @Goergebenson

Maybe you don't like his demos because you're a douche.

  • @kelljm Wow thats articulate of you. The guys demo sucks because all you have is a motionless visual with a rather pointless sound review. if you want a good review, check out the one for laney's vc30.

  • is this jack black?

  • The clean sound definitely needed to be set in the Fat mode but I would suspect that it would work fine in Normal mode with a Les Paul ;) The Burn channel doesn't offer that much of a diversity though, all the way cranked up it can only do arena metal :/ Yet I must admit that it cleans up almost perfectly just by rolling down the volume knob on the guitar! By the way, is it just me or does anybody else also hear a woman's moan towards the end for just like one second there? :D

  • I trust GMD's demos more than anyone else's in the web. Way cool.

  • I recently bought one of these. I play funk/jazz. I only use the clean tone. I love it, def loud enough for small/med size gigs. the fat tone is some times too much (too bright). Great amp for the price, reverb is good I believe its spring. I never use the burn channel

  • Dude, Fender should give you money for doing such great demos of their gear ;-)

This is the amp I need but I didn't know before I saw this video...

    Long live gearmandude !

  • vox ac30cc2 vs. fender supersonic 22 ?

  • reverb??? am i in the twilight zone GMD ???

  • Are these made in the USA?

  • Gearmandude - how do you bias this amp? Is it self biasing or does it have a bias pot inside?

Man, I really love the tone this amp has. I've been struggling to find one that's not deafening, but has some snap and snarl. I've got a Gretsch Jet with a TV Jones Classic Plus pickup for the bridge. Do you think I can get Malcolm Young's tone or in the ballpark with this amp?

Does the burn channel get too hairy or fizzy? Or does it remain snappy and tight like that? Thanks.

  • @bongerbob I would think you're probably better off with some sort of small-ish tube driven Marshall combo in the 20-50 watt range, with EL84 or EL34 tubes. I had an old Marshall JTM30 30 watt 1x12 combo with master volume that absolutely nailed Zeppelin and AC/DC tones. It isn't a reliable amp, but there are other Marshall combos that do the trick. Make sure it has a master volume though. Even the 5 watt Marshall Class 5 is quite loud at levels high enough for overdrive.

  • Favolous sound with the neck pickups! awesome clean sound.FENDER IS THE BEST!

  • @ericthespaniard if you bought the head version, then it was not this amp because the 22 only comes in a combo. Have you heard the 22 in a live setting? Too many people comment on this amp thinking it is the same as the previous SS or the 60 watt version

  • Jack Black has fat little pudgy fingers!!!

  • Whats your stance on what the guy below me said GMD? Have you played with a drummer and bass player with this thing? If it doesn't cut through the mix could you tell me a simliar (features and price) amp or two that would?

  • This amp (super sonic) is like playing through a line6 pos. In your room it sounds amazing. You take it to band practice and it doesn't cut through the mix AT ALL. It is muddy, ugly sounding and it will make your band sound bad. Again, in your room it sounds amazing, and maybe in the bathroom as well. With a drum set and another guitar player playing trough a semi decent amp, it will vanish. I bought the head version. I sold it the following week. Biggest disappointment ever.

  • Really helps me to decide what amp to buy. Appreciate the effort.

  • Super demo!

  • jack black? :P

  • I think this might be one of the best sounding and most practical amps I've ever seen. It'd sound great running through a British-voiced 2x12 along with the stock speaker, yes?

  • Great demo... LOVE the amp. Gotta get me one! Soon!

  • is that jack black?

  • Hi i was wondering if this amp could be used as a practice amp as well as a concert amp? I live in a house with a few roomates so it cant be too loud. But some loudness wont hurt. =)

  • "he will throw his symbol stands into the band, and break your tubes. this will happen."

    bahahaha

  • Of Course it's Jack Black, who the hell else could afford to buy all the shit he demos. Think about it...

  • @BrianMorrison71 yeah, and just listen to the way he speaks, and we never get to see his face. plus he has those who is gearmandude videos

  • Fender Tube amps VS Marshall Tube amps????

  • @fipfapfallywap well obviously marshall tube amps. but, i did just buy the super sonic 60, now this amp will give marshall a run for the money. but any other fender tube amp, no dice.

  • @wickedwizardofspeed

    Interesting.

    Marshall vs. mesa boogie?

  • @fipfapfallywap haha, thats a hard one. i my opinion i don't really care for Mesa Boogie that much, they're great, but not my thing, except... i think the "Mark Five" is the best amp on the market, i just don't have $2000 for the head, and the extra $600 for a cabinet. all my favorite bands use Marshall's, they're just a rock amp icon thats just happens to a lot of ass as well :D

  • Thumbs up if you think people need to stop doing the "is this jack black" joke on every one of GMD's reveiws???!!!???

  • @BrantWheeler95 people say the dumbest things over gear that anyone finds nice to enjoy. if they dont like it then dont watch it simple as that

  • @BrantWheeler95 it is now

  • Thanks for another great demo!

  • Is the clean preamp in the 22 the same as the 60 watt? The 60 has vibrolux/bassman voicing as opposed to normal/fat in the 60. This sounds more like a blackface deluxe than my 60 watt. The vibrolux is almost too bright.

  • Thank you gearman, for showing the tonal range of this beast. Best review so far of this amp!

  • Did you notice cabinet rattle with this model? Not so much at low volumes but when you start to wind it up? I know most amps have a spot or a note where they will buzz a bit but I heard these rattle a lot?

  • Are the cleans similar to a deluxe reverb reissue?

  • @Danthehorse I hope so!

  • Hey man.. great demo...

I am contemplating this OR a DR.Z carmen ghia or maz jr..

I have played both the Super Sonic 22 and the maz for several hours and really like the tones of both,

HOWever, i found the super sonic to be MUCH more comfortable to play in that the attack was not as immediate as on the Z which was very unforgiving.

It might have had to do with the fact that I was able to run the Super Sonic a lot louder than the Z.

Whats your take on this as you have both ?

    Thanks

  • Not the best demo. Too much talk. everyone knows the features/specs and can find it easily at Fender. In 13 minute demo, you never turned the amp up to show how it could perform at gig volumes. The volume remained at 4 on both channels. why? Not once did you show how the clean break up is, or how tight the drive channel stays. It's like taking a car for a test drive in a school zone.

  • @stratthead I kinda agree other than the fact that at most gigs the amps are miced such as they are in this video so the volume can be at whatever he would want for his personal tone and the sound man can just turn up his signal through the PA, Other than that, I agree with you.

  • Hi GMD, did you play a Les Paul with Super Sonic? What you think about iy?

    Thank you

    Bye

  • haha jack black ??

  • Is that Jack Black doing a guitar review?

  • @gamergeek3000 Came to post this.

  • Run, I hear Banjos

  • has anyone told you you kind of sound like jack black?

  • Awesome amp i was on Guitar Centers site saw this amp and didnt see the price untill i heard from this vid how nice it sounds then i check the price and GOD DAMNIT its $999.99 shit. oh well thanks man

  • haha! we both have the same strat!

  • Lovable !!

By the way, is that mic a Sennheiser e906? I´m searching for my 1st mic and I´m really considering that Sennheiser.

How good is the speaker on the amp?

    Thanks!!

  • Lovable !!

By the way, is that mic a Sennheiser e906?

i´m searching for my 1st mic and I´m really considering that Sennheiser

  • Lovable !!

  • blablabla

  • Do they make this new version on the 60w

  • Have Fender send you a SS 60 watt to do a review on. That one has the Celestron Vintage 30 speaker. Maybe a comparison against the Peavey Classic would be a good idea also.

  • @hawg427 There is no comparison. The Fender wins hands down. I had a choice to buy either amp, and got the Fender. The Peavey is good, but that's comparing a Ford to a Mercedes Benz. Both do the job, but the Fender SS 60W is blowing all my pro muso friends away. They can't believe what you can do with the amp, and these are guys ranging from jazz, blues, roots, C&W and rock. It's the amp for me!

  • Tone wise, which do you think sounds better, the Supersonic or the Hot Rod Deluxe III? Are there any differences between the Super Sonic 60 and the 22 you demo'd?

  • Hi there, great demo. Just wondering where on the dial does the clean channel start to break up? Thanks :)

  • Great video, thanks for posting...I am looking to buy this amp.

  • Is the amp made in Mexico or USA?

  • Comment removed

  • @zotos777 Who cares

  • Combo sounds great!

    What microphone do you use?

  • jack black!

  • Is this amp made in America?

  • @cville57 I'm trying to figure that out also. I haven't found any info on whether the amp is made in U.S.A. or Mexico.

  • @murfdog19 usa

  • what would you suggest a used Super sonic (old version with celestionspeaker, with vibrolux and bassman channels) or a new supersonic 22 the one reviewed here.

  • Nice review. This amp sounds great on here. If didn't already own a Blues Deluxe RI, I'd think about getting one.

  • Jack Black? I thought he sounded a little like Christian Slater ...

  • JACK BLACK

  • He kinda sounds like jack black heh

  • At 3:08, you can almost hear the words in his mind as he adds in the reverb!

  • Fender Supersonic or Marshall JVM?

  • @etguitar18 Those are such different amps. Both great, though. The JVM series doesn't really sound vintage Marshall, btw, it's a modern sound with some vintage-vibe settings.

  • how loud does this get

  • I hafta say Fender have really lifted their game the last few years. Always quality gear (cept for the 90's red knobs, IMO anyway...), but they seem to have finally worked out how to make good overdrive thru the amp...

  • what do you press to turn it on? hahaha. i'm actually serious.

  • The real shit is always fucking expensive ....

  • @NanoGuitarist ..potty mouth boy has spoken
