  • rob im pretty sure a broken lightbulb affected the picture the whole museum is in the dark especially the bomber hall me n my dad cudnt even take a single photo without changing to nightvision XD

  • Yes, I hope things have improved when I / we go there again.. :)

  • @BasicModelling wallace and gromit FTW!! "CHEESE!". hey great lancaster there;how much was it?

  • @southsidedude101 Thanks.. The Lancaster is the old Airfix kit.. it's about £20.. but the Revell kit for the same money is much more detailed.. Unfortunately my Airfix kit broke when a box landed on top of it, but I have since bought the Revell kit, and hope to build it next year.. :)

  • the navy plane underneath north, i've been in one before,it was at the cleveland airshow

  • Sounds nice.. :) I love the opportunity to get inside any kind of aircraft.. :)

  • The first and only time I´ve been to the RAF Hendon museum before was almost twenty years ago, when I was just a little child who could hardly speak English (say "Hello, goodbye, how much is this" and little more XDDD) I just can´t imagine how much the museum must´ve changed ever since; and I´m dying to go back there again!!! :D Nice images, they make me feel even more eager to go! :) By the way, Hendon is North to London, isn´t it?

  • Well, I had not been before.. but I sure hope to go again this coming spring, even if that is the only show I go to next year!! :)

..and yes, Hendon is north west of London, I believe.. :)

  • i washed my helldiver with soapy water and stirred the paint well and now it looks awesome the paint finish it really good compared to before ill show u a photo when iv finished

  • Always happy to help! :)

  • ^^..:D

  • Ich rede von der Roten Armee Fraktion^^

  • Aha.. ok, now I'm with you.. :)

  • HA Ha...XD...Die RAF hat ein eigenes Museum...XD

  • They have two museums, actually.. There were lots of Luftwaffe types as well, like the Bf 109 & 110, Junkers Ju 87 & 88m variuous Fw 190's and a Heinkel 111.. just to name a few.. :)

  • O_o woow DC plane :D

  • Que? :)

  • ?? :)

  • You would have enjoyed spending the day there.. I was there for 8 hours.. and I still missed about 1/3 of the (real) aeroplanes on show..

  • it's a bit dim but otherwise a good show :)

  • Yes, the lights left a lot to be desired.. I couldn't film quite a few tables that were otherwise worth filming, because of the light.. or lack of.. :(

  • Why you say:'My Lancaster' or 'My wallace & gromit'?

    Are they really your models?

  • Yes, it's my club.. :) There were a few models of mine on that table, as well as the book behind the Stuka, a few of the old style Airfix box arts (with kits in the boxes) behind the models and .. well, yes.. :)

  • I hope they have fixed the lightbulb by next year. ;^)

    Nice show.

  • like the models - that one behind the display must have arrived in a helluva big box!

  • It was actually built from one of those magazines that comes out twice a month.. you pay a small fortune for each one, each issue contains 3 parts that has nothing to do with each other.. and it takes 25 years to get the complete model made..

But boy.. was it worth the wait!!!! :)

  • It certainly was! The only part collection I ever completed was my Blues CD Collection - all the others seem to fade and die after a few issues I have 4 bricks 2 planks and a bedknob from my Build Dream House Collection

  • Ha ha ha ha.. :)

  • When is this show? If its close to colchester then its damn close to me - South East Essex :P

  • They are having it again in May next year.. it's easy enough to drive to Hendon from Colchester, but Hendons probably even closer to you, then.. I will do my best to attend next year, my son should be out of treatment by then! But I will probably miss a few of the early shows next spring as I have no more leave to take..

  • Great idea for a model display!

  • There were other clubs with similar displays, showing Airfix.. some had really early kits and a different variety to ours.. but ours weren't the worst display at the show.. luckily.. :)

  • Was that an allison aircraft engine in the background?

  • I am not sure.. as I'm not into the engines as muchas the planes themselves, I didn't pay much attention to what it actually was.. sorry!! :)

  • thats a pretty bluhm und voss 141, anyway i think its a 141

  • Yes, that is mine as well.. a classic Airfix kit, also issued by 'Bilka'.. but Airfix will reissue it this year, I have been told.. they're beginning to run out of time now!! :) But when it is re-released, I will buy the kit and make it even better.. :) You get a good view of it in my video '51 Models'.. :)

  • thanks for sharing! Awesome show!

  • The best one I've ever been to.. :)

  • I've never seen a TRS-2! I though I've seen everything! Nice models man! Good vid as well.A+

  • The plane.. or the kit?? Not sure if they have a real TSR 2 at Hendon, but if they do, I missed it.. spent 8 hours there and still missed a lot of what they had to show.. :)

  • In the 4th minute the character looks like a Spanish soldier

  • Probably because it is.. :)

  • Seeing some of that box art was great - and of course, the 1/24 Stuka!!!

  • Yes, the old Stuka favourite.. it toured the shows of East Anglia this spring.. :)

  • they all look awesome!!!!!

  • It wasn't so much about quality, as about reflecting the hours of fun.. Mind you, some of the models were very well made and painted too.. :) :)

  • wow, what scale was the JU-87stuka at the end of the table, that was epic... lovely collection of models from what im sure is a great model club :D just wish there were some in chester, but only ones i could find were of hornby railways

  • @U48 I was thinking about that one too:)

    That's an eycatching model.

  • 1/24 scale.. It's a classic kit!! I guess that when you go to the show (wherever it was near you) next year, you can inquire.. There's bound to be one close to you!! :)

  • First time I've seen a TSR, nice looking airplane.

    great display.

Was that the pope's outhouse on the far end ??

  • Ha ha ha ha.. probably a windmill or something.. Airfix used to do a lot for model railways and similar type thins in the old days.. :)

  • the light is quite good - here the museums like to have inadequate light; perhaps better to sell their images ? :)

  • The ligyht was awful.. but some were lucky and got a bright spot!! Not us, though.. :)

  • Royal Air Force Museum (Hendon - Londres)

if you believe your lighting was inadequate, check this video; now that's more like USA museum lighting :)

  • Hendon Laundrette.. ?

  • it's French, not Swedish, or even Norwegian...and they'd have recognized that in Republika Jämtland :)

  • lighting in that musem sucks sorry :)

  • They have improved parts of it since, especially in the 'Battle of Britain' Hall.. I just hope we get better light next time!! :)

  • you have got to love the short sunderland display

  • I missed it, as it was closed off last spring.. but I sure hope to see it at the show next year.. :)

  • nice lancaster btw i am only new cant wait till im hopefully doing those but now i do small planes on the ground pretty much no pilot

  • thats the one i go to lol 5 stars

  • You MUST come to the show next year then, in May I think.. :)

  • don't you have a light on your video camera?

  • Nope, it's only a small digital camera.. I have a flash for photography, but that is all.. :)

  • oh,but some good models

  • Collected and built over many years.. some of those are built when they were first issued some 40 odd years ago.. not by me, mind you.. but all the same.. :)

  • five *S*T*A*R*S* ;-)

  • Danke you.. :)
