I read the books and i loved them!!!! Personally i don't mind Miley playing the main character all i ask is to NOT screw up the plot and make me feel like the book was transferd onto the big screen. So i don't much about the acting as much as the way they put the readers visions as a movie.... overall, plz dont screw up a perfectly good book.

I never thought wake to be scary. Romantic and thrilling yes but never scary. As for Miley playing janie. I just can't see it. If she does play her than she better cut off those ugly extensions and they better not have her wearing any make up in the movie. 'Cause janie wouldn't be caught dead wearing makeup. The only none-comedy project she's done is The Last Song, and she did a great job at that. It was good enough to make my mother say how great an actress Miley is, even when she doesn't really like her.

@hsaoreo18 well everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but remember when people read a book or series of books they all also have their own ideas of how the characters look and act beyond the basic descriptions the author uses. Also having not seen Miley in anything other than HM and possibly The Last Song how can you really say if she could or could not do the part?

@hsaoreo18 I understand what you mean because we all see our favorite characters in the books we read a certain way because it is left to us by the author to fill in the physical appearance past the basic descriptions so we invest our imagination into the story. It is always tough to cast a person in the part for a movie version of the book because people have a preconceived idea of what the character should look like. In The Last Song the author wrote the character to look like Miley since ...

I am sure they will color Miley's hair and do other makeup tricks to make her look closer to what people see the character in Wake as looking like. The rest will be up to those who have read it to look past what does not match what they imagined and judge if she plays the character properly as she was written.
