Presidential Candidates Differ Greatly on Biofuels

Ethanol subsidies are immoral. If I broke into your house and stole money out of your wallet, then used that money to grow corn, I'd go to jail. Theft is theft, even when backed up by a majority vote.

I support Obama and strongly support alternative fuels but I agree with John McCain on this. Growing fuel is a wonderful idea but corn based ethanol will not make us energy independent. If all of our agricultural land produced corn for ethanol production, it would supply only a small percentage of our energy needs. Something like the Picken's plan for natural gas would be a much better transition to a non-hydrocarbon fuel economy.
