She said her mother died in Jamaica and when she went to pay her respects she got back and lost her job and place to live. And since she worked in a shop she new how to steal from them.
Helen couldn't be less interested in Sean the saltine. Again H goes to Nikki, when they reach n's cell helen makes an effort to extend the conversation, so nikki pushes the wedding button again. Shame on you Nikki, you are not going to make it easy on helen are you! (i wouldn't either)
