Everyday now my samung 52" LCD takes about 3 minutes to turn on...it clicks on and off about ten to twenty times before it stays on...piece of junk that is only two years old...LN52A650...I'll never buy samsung again
i bought three samsungs, two 42' n one 52', about 2 yrs ago. The 52" started to click on and off with picture interference and is getting progressively worse upon power on. It does stop after 3-12 on and off clicks, just a matter of time until it craps out. A bit of hope though, the parts department said it could be the power head ($119) or t-com ($79) board. I'll be replacing both, but won't buy another samsung tv if that doesn't work. I won't pay another $3200 for a crap tv.

@bankguy1000 How long have you had it? I've had this for about 2 years and it is still working fine. I have another older samnsug LCD in my bedroom and i've been using it for 4 years or so. no problems with either.
@casino1187 Buying samsung is like playing russian roulette that you won't be screwed. Mine took a crap about this time last year at 14 months old . Samsung uses cheap junk parts that burn out at about 1- 2 years. Samsung has over 9,000 more complaints about their JUNK tvs than any other make tv on the consumer affairs site and good luck dealing with their wonderful customer service. Google samsung tv problems and read the real TRUTH about their JUNK tvs and how they screw their customers.
We have the same set. It was great when it worked but ours is on its third replacement panel and it's still messed up. Given that my sister is having the same problem with hers I believe the quality of these sets is very questionable.
dont buy from circuit city. i was there yesterday. they dont have good deals at all. its all hype. if you decide to buy one, buy it from another store.
yes circuit city is kinda lame..they had a going out of buisness sale like 30% off everything, and it looked like they jacked the price "UP!" a pair of headphones just headphones! no cool buttons or features..were 69$ at 30% off...
Im loking at buying this model of tv,how many hours of usage is this thing rated? How well does the network connectivity work? Is there any other tv you would look at besides this one?
ok, so i just hooked it up, played with it for 10 minutes or so, I see this weird blur, not a bad blur, but kind of weird. What is it and where do change the settings for this? Thanks a bunch, picture so real my friend didnt want to go back to work by the way.
not on the whole picture, sorry, only right after something moves pretty fast, looks like a translucent blur, isnt that In-motion , or something, looks like something I just need to configure or set , or adjust .
That is either called motion blur or ghosting, not sure which. That isn't normal, unless you are watching an antenna source or something with poor quality. and this is your exact model? 8 series?
It is simply amazing. so many options and the picture is great. you can even hook it to your home network and stream movies/music to the tv. also see the weather, news etc on the screen. also you can plug a thumb drive into the side and play your divx etc. very handy
Even watching this from your webcam you can clearing see that the TV has an absolutely amazing picture. The quality is so clean, clear, bright, with vivid colours and depth to the image. Well done on your purchase.
well, I've finally started using it for 2 days now. It is amazing. I am most impressed with how it makes poor quality divx etc files look amazing. It's no joke.
I don't have cable right now and I've just been watching divx files on my thumb drive (that I plug into the side) and it is amazing.
Employee discounts at certain stores can get you this for 1700. It's worth every penny either way you pay it lol. Nice TV, I'm getting the 46 inch one cause 52 is too big for my room.
If you can get a series 8 for that price snatch that up! These TV's are well worth the price I got a series 6 (figured I didn't need TOC or games) Which you can find cheaper. Has the same 4 HDMI hookups. Info link, 120hz, 50,000:1 contrast and PC hook ups the 8 has.
I have a question, I have the same tv, and I also have a dazzle video recorder. In order to record Video with the Dazzle you have to plug it into the A/V out ports, but I'm not sure were they are. Do you have any idea?
well, motion blur is almost a thing of the past, but keep in mind that I only used this for a week or so. I'm moving and have put it back in the box until then. I am moving in a month and will mount it on the wall. But the 120hz is addicting to watch. Reminds me of when DVDs first came out, made watching movies a whole new experience.
One point about the Touch of Color, you can barely see it so don't base your decision widely on that. The blue was much more expensive than the red, which helped me decide.
Its just because it is newer. They had the rose TOC on last years model. I like the blue better, but I went with rose because it was cheaper and you can barely see it. Plus it will slightly match my kitchen.
I paid 2600 on ebay, but had the cashback think from microsoft. I don't think I can link it here. So I got it for $2400 out of pocket. You can get it for a little cheaper now.
Ebay. it is $2400 on there right now, but you can get it for $2200 now, if you use the msft cashback. i don't think I can post a link but google it. live com
this is very temporary. I building a house and it will be wall mounted with in wall speakers. Do you really think I'm going to keep this setup? With my old 62" behind it?

I doubt its more expensive because of the colour, you will probably find its got a extra USB port like the blue 7 series has over the red 7 series.
Feel free to correct me if you check and im wrong, but for the 7 this is the case.
But anyway, like they said thanks for posting your video :)
