I know it's hard, because everyone wants proof, but if we had proof, then what was the point of God sending his son. God doesn't want there to be proof of his existence, because if there were proof that he was real, then everyone would just accept him, and go to heaven without loving him. The universe would have no point in it, and Gods test would have no point. He wants us to love Him, and trust him.

@Gwyain100 Exactly. A good example is the cross story: Constantine was praying to Sol Invictus when he looked at the sun and saw a cross (probably the glare). He heard a voice NOT ONE MENTION of anything even *remotely* related to Christianity. The voice told him "By this sign, you will conquer" or something along those lines. The History Channel is actually such a fail these days.

Also, Christianity had grown exponentially in the Empire and Constantine saw this as a tool he could use to bring the weakening empire back to strength by letting a group as large as the Christians (that had become widespread in the empire) practise in peace and give the empire full support. He was even shocked that there was so much controversy and debate at the council of Nicea.

This all happened after he came back from the war. Anyways God did this, for there to be a spiritual revival back into Rome. Many people were saved during this time period, because of whatever happened to Constantine during the war. Most scholars would say it was the dream he had, and that's where I stand.
