  • o meu amigo queér meu computador para voce? assim vo^ce póde fazer video aula kkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • this has helped me, so my patience was not tried as you mentioned. THanks

  • Thank you so much you have helped me understand this consept so much better please make more videos about html.

  • You make it seem very simple! So this is what the computer uses.

  • This was very helpful thx a lot hope you make more videos of things like this. I did not know how "forgiving" html was.

  • I would be interested in seeing something about XML schemas and how this is the basis of most integrations and messaging systems. Good stuff!

  • Very good job.

    Thank you.

Your video it has very nice Presentation, a consistent Structure and for sure very useful Data.

    ;)

I am very frustrated because of this sloppy HTML . I want to build "data extractor" from a website (HTML parser), and i am using Python as a programming language to do this, but the web designer of that site it make my life unbelievable difficult.

  • If I were going to try to parse bad HTML (in a Windows environment), I might consider using COM automation to load the document in IE and then "walk the tree" of objects that IE's parser builds. I'm unfamiliar with Python, so I can't suggest how this would translate into your toolset. Good luck!

  • Thank you very much!!

I hope you do another lecture very soon!

    Very interesting!

  • where does xhtml fit in to all this?

  • My understanding is that XHTML is HTML that is well-formed, permitting parsers to do validation better. This apparently permits more devices over the web (think cell phone) to render web pages in a more consistent, more attractive manner than ordinary HTML permits. I have no personal experience with this, however. Thanks for commenting!

  • Good job.

  • nice vid

  • Please continue the series!

  • Absolutely the best introduction I have ever had to these web technologies.

  • I just have 1 quick question:

I know a bit about HTML myself, and this is a great video. very interesting, and very "maverick" in the good way. but, to know all this, where you ever in the army sometime 1980-1990? because you explained something about "the web before 1990", and i was curious how you would know that. thats all, thanks!

  • Excellent Sir! Please continue educating. Its really satisfying to learn things right from their roots.

  • it is always good to know where/how this came to be. i'm a software engineer from venezuela. thank's for the class.

  • Great Lectures...But, PLEASE..., use a better marker....can't see what you're writing...

  • Great Job! Very Informative. Please do some more.

  • Thanks Joe, I realy enjoyed this, MORE -

  • Hello. Thanks for a great videos (parts 1 and 2). It was really good to watch and hear someone discuss these things-- reading about them can really be so boring.

    More please. Cheers! :)

  • Wonderful video, thanks for making it. I am currently taking an XML class right now, and this video helped fill in a lot of logical gaps on why we have XML. I hope to see more videos of similar content one day!

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Joe, Great Video! I would love to see more. Great enthusiasm. Please be encouraged to continue.

  • Its an Awesome video please give us some more knowledge, waiting for your new video !

  • I keep planning to do more. But with your threat, I'll have to be sure that I do. Thanks.

  • Great stuff Joe. A fairly boring subject made interesting by someone personable.

  • Great Video! I would love to see more. Perhaps an explanation of the semantic web as it relates to XML?

  • i guess i am not the only one that found this idea good, of telling the basics of sgml an xml...well done. I am kinda beginner in this stuff, and found it very useful.

Thx - Persahps more to come, huh? ;)

  • I have said I would to others but haven't gotten around to it. Because of your interest I will try harder to find the time. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Thanks you Sir. Basic but clear. I appreciate your time and effort to educate the masses.

    Keep up the great job.

    Will be visiting again soon.

    Kind regards,

    J. Napo Mokoetle

  • Outstanding. But this is excellent.

  • continue plz.

    CSS , examples on XML.

    great job so far.

  • Thank you for your kind comments. I will get back to this, but the end of next week will be the earliest that I can do so. Thanks for watching, also.

  • Yes, I can do another part! And get more into the specifications for XML and what you can do with it. If you have any special interest on XSLT, CSS, schemas or DTDs, let me know. I'm not really expert on any of it, but I can surely present the basics.

  • As a software engineer and knowing nothing about SGML,XML, etc, I found your videos very informative! Is there going to be a part 3? I would like to hear more about the definition of the XML and an example of a particular implementation. Thanks!

  • I meant to post the comment below as a reply.

  • Continue please.

  • Well, if you insist, I guess I'll have to! :)

  • I'll need to come back to this lesson 2-3 times Joe. Although I 'kind of' understand HTML, I didn't know what those letters stood for.

XML is an entirely different kettle of fish and I am having GREAT difficulty comprehending it - I have seen XML buttons on various sites and have ALWAYS wondered what they were for but I was terrified to click on them. :o/

  • You deserve a trophy for watching both parts of this. Its like 26 minutes total. Thanks for watching and all your comments.
