I seiously dont understand why people assosciate barn owls with demons and call them scary, in my opinion I think baby barn owls are one of the most adorable and innocent animals on the planet :)

yeah we got her out before the eagle got to her so she's fine ^^ she's finished for the season though :) I volenteer at the kielder bird of prey centre :D it's 9 miles from the border of scotland :)

@kitkat8686 aw thank god shes ok. Reason i asked was my sister half voulteers/ half works lol at a falconary centre world of wings just wondered if she might of heard of your centre. My mum and dad used to own there own falconry centre in Kinross well it was a joint 4 partnership with four couples but one by one they all left and we were left with it untill it went bust :( anyway sorry im blabbing ...

cute owl. do you need a lisence to keep them in the uk (Scotland)? and also, what sort of enclosure would i need to keep one in? i wanted to get as much info as possible. are they good for beginners.

You don't need one only a certificate which you get with the owl when you buy it to say it was bred in captivity.

i would like to know how you can get a licence to have a barn owl with out getting in trouble with the game warden i doubt it would be easy but i have always been interested in birds of prey i have gotten to work with 2 great horned owls and a red tailed hawk and am just curious how i could get a licence to have a bird like this!

Baby owls are very beautiful, I got too watch two babies learn to fly together, they were just getting their wings, just about dusk, cooing to each other, up and down, very beautiful, owls are very wise.

@SuperSandySue An owl moves his head from side to side to judge distances as their eyes are fixed to their head. They cant move there eyes like people, He thinks my sister who is filming it is his mum as shes the person who raised him, We have 15 years of experience with birds of prey and have ran two falconary centres i think we know how to look after these birds.

@kitkat8686 thanks for your kind comments, yeah hes imprinted hes grown up now and he flys but hes not been flying latley cause he got pinned by a harris hawk and his feathers got a bit scruffed thank god he was ok but think his feathers needed to grow back a bit and the time of year isnt great for flying so hes ust resting for now, but hes lovely bird just grumpy when comes out of bed lol

@leoram1991 you're welcome ^^ and i'm glad he's ok :/ I'm a volenteer at a centre and our barn owl flew in with a white tailed sea eagle! that was a bit of a scare. and yeah i guess it is a bit cold to fly a bird of that size this time of year ^^ XD

my dad and sister help run a falconary centre , we previously owned another falconary centre so have always grew up around birds of prey.
