Read Explaining colours to a blind man. Not only will it enlighten many as to what living with a mental illness and chronic fatigue syndrome is like, it also gives comfort to those sufferers who think there is no hope and that they are alone. It is very informative, sometimes shocking but also very funny in parts. All in all, a good read and highly recommended.
I work in the mental health field and I try to be a professional, but it is so hard to know how to help people that are suffering when the state has so many rules. It's like the caring part is over time. Maybe your therapist was pressured by the requirements of her job. There is something called compliance and if you can't show that the patient is making an effort you have to discharge them according to some services.
@jamesvillejames Really? A lot of people just need someone to talk to. Isn't that what therapists are for. I guess ones who don't serve wealthy people have tougher requirements?
@luriette78. When one works hard for their money they may take the information given by the therapist more seriously than if tax payers are footing the bill for them. Therapist run into a lot of people who just want to talk, but don't want to really change the things that are causing the problems and Medicaid funded services are VERY results driven.
@jamesvillejames I'm not even talking about people on Medicaid I'm just talking about people who aren't wealthy who can't afford a therapist who charges a lot. You seem to have issues with poor people. Just because a person is poor doesn't mean they're not going to take information a therapist tells them seriously.
@luriette78. I'm sorry, I thought you were actually trying to have a discussion. It seems like your just another loser that likes to get online call names and cause confusion. Get lost.
@jamesvillejames I just reflected to you that you sound insensitive towards poor people. Wasn't trying to name call, that's what you're doing. There are plenty of poor people, working class people and middle class people who work hard who can't afford a therapist who charges a lot. It doesn't mean they don't take their treatment seriously. That's all I was trying to say.
I was put in hospital twice for disagrements with my therapist. I dint raise my voice, i wast suicidal, i wasnt homicidal or say anything wierd. Its just a power that they can weld over you and abuse if they choose. Never done anything violent or broken any law.
I had a therapist who emotionally traumatized me. If I was not in such a fragile state at the time, I would have reported him to his licensing board. When I applied for SSDI, he would not send his records to the administrative law judge. They had to be subpoened...
i really like how you can talk about your problems.
i've been to several therapists over the past few years.
i'm not in therapy anymore. and that's basically because i've gotten past those problems. but, i think other people should see therapists if they can.
don't you think it enables you to talk to other people about your problems more openly and logically?
since therapy, i have really learned how to analyze myself and situations in a much more productive way.
xox the therapist who dumped you - unbelievable !! i think a lot of misdiagnosing goes on because the field is so broad, docs really don't know everything and sometimes are just downright incompetent in some or all areas lol
don't feel like a dork. you're so sweet. i always like seeing new videos from you and like i said before, knowing you're out there makes me feel less alone. take care and i hope tomorrow is a happier day for you. xo
That therapist sounds horrible, i can't believe people like that are allowed to work in mental health, i had one CPN more or less tell me that he thought i was faking everything, I think he's been fired since, very unpleasant man. Anyway i'm glad you're doing okay now. (hope this comment doesn't sound too much about me)
My therapist and I dumped each other simultaneously. If we hadn't it probably would have come to blows in the end - and I have a policy of never hitting a woman (also she is bigger than me and could totally kick my ass) :-D
PS I seriously think that cat is going to speak English any day now.
