  • those 3 kids look like Biggs Wedge and Jesse to you?

  • little tifa's mother died...it was so sad to see her suffering and the brave young cloud who followed her the whole dangerous way to mt. nibel while the other pisser "friends" of tifa ran away

  • T_T So many memories, so many emotions. Now, sitting this night in front of my monitor, listening to OST which gives tears to my eyes. 'Sigh' I always hated nostalgia, but not this much. 15 years passed...

Always in my heart... FFVII. <3

  • It's great to see how many poeple this game has touched. I feel the same way the game is part of my memories and soul and it's awesome to see poeple feel the same way. No game was like FF7 and I wish we could get another one like itb ut Squarenix just isn't Sqauresoft no matter how much the true Final Fantasy fans want it. At least we have FFXs remake to look forward to.

  • Every time I look up a FF7 video I see how much of an impact this game has done to many people, whenever I look at comments they are mostly full of meaning, and memories. I grew up watching my brothers play all the FF series, and I guess to me it hold a lot of value these games especially this series, for the fact that that was a time when I use to spend many hours with my brothers,I guess that was our bonding time for us, but I'll never forget those memories that this game brought me. Thank you!

  • I Love FF7!!!!

  • @isam11100 thats why we listen

  • For everyone who has lost someone dear to them, this song will always mean so much more to them.

  • @zenzen126 you hit that one right on the nail there, so much so. --- amen.

  • i remember this part of the game i cryed so much :((( tifas mom died cloud wasnt a x solder everything was so confusing :(

  • oh fuck. i fucking just burst into tears at the first note. holy shit. i didn't think this would happen. too much memories, fuck --- this is way close to the heart. brings me sadness, and joy, and my memories too.

  • @apocolisp are you serious? It was a great game....but....that is jokes

  • @wildgrem yes, i am serious. the game is actually attached to some very dear REAL LIFE memories that were happening at the time I first played it. by that association it takes on a different meaning to me.

  • Interesting how much this track is inspired by classical guitar piece called Lagrima written by Francisco Tarrega.

  • I would also like to know when in the game this song was played. Please

  • @luckyhmongkey not sure if you found out yet or not...but it is played during during a scene in cloud's childhood flashback...tifa and her friends teasing cloud...cloud following tifa up Mt. Nibelhelm...Tifa's friends abandoning her...cloud trying to save her...cloud not being strong enough to help.....

  • @weskalman cool thanks! I guess i'll have to replay the game then. but that's not a problem, it's a treat! :D

  • A little boy fell off a cliff trying to save a girl who never gave him the time of day. The girl's friends abandoned her when she needed them most, but not the little boy. Worst of all the little boy was blamed for the accident, causing him to hate his inability to save the girl. This little boy was in actuality the true hero of FF7.

  • Where in the game this song is played?

  • @drakonimetal I believe it is played in one of the flashbacks to Cloud's childhood.

  • My favourite game of them all, I wish S-E never ruined the series created by Squaresoft and Sakaguchi's works...

  • Hey guys, watch my version to this song. youtube. com/watch?v=Fc7CBzlt9yU

  • iv learned to play this on guitar...go me

  • this, this is the reason that we all love the final fantasy franchise so much. What other games can evoke so much heartfelt joy, tearing sadness, and return memories long since forgotten to the surface. This is truly proof of the power of music.

  • bittersweet...

  • I'm having trouble remembering what scene this was from...was this from one of Tifa's flashbacks?

  • @Blaquecell Yes.

  • i remember this song from ff7 but i dont know when its played. i feel ashamed...

  • @801forlife this song was played in a flashback, cloud's coma, tifa's house, when you just learned it was the day Tifa's mom died, and then she ran to mt Nibel and fell off the bridge with cloud

  • @coyote7272 ooo thats right!! i completely forgot haha. thank you!!

  • @coyote7272 Yep, which solves the mystery earlier in the game of the comment "Back then, you could walk away with just skinned knees..."

  • Tactics FTW! I love FF7, it's the best known game.

  • personally i liked the 9th nd 10th the best, but im currently playing the 7th which is amazing, but i didnt like the 12th one except parts of the story nd the 13th was pretty decent... unfortunately i need to play the 8th one to understand all these comments below mine ):

  • You know, if they ever remake this game. It won't be the same game if they don't use the same music. It's blasphemy.

  • @voidofambition Totally agree. The music itself was so great and epic it practically told the story without words.

  • @voidofambition If anything will be remade it will be 7, even people who swore they would never play RPGs got sucked into it.

  • 4 people never made it to the other side of the mountain

  • really beautiful music.... :)

  • I remember crying at this...

  • The song is supposed to feel sad. It has been way too long since I was at this point in the game so I don't remember the scene as well as I should, so it is relaxing rather than sad. Maybe it's just me.

  • I remember the big silence before this music starts.. just to let us understand that the moment is tragic. "the day mom died.." so sad..

  • When I can play this on guitar, my life will be complete.

  • @eternitymagic i have a guitar video of it on youtube

  • it simply makes me cry...

can't really understand why my psx still works, maybe its inmortal, but it has 11 years, 6 more than my ps2 (f***ed up) but still playing this stuff , still waiting for a remake, dunno how they are going to make it suitable for ps3, but its always nice to play this game

  • @DerShogun10 there isnt going to be a remake anytime soon, not this decade atleast , because they released crisis core and drige of cerberus only a few years ago, 5 or 6 at the most, so maybe another 5 or 10 years till they remake it, if anyone bothers to, plus with games like ff 3,5,8,9 that have had 1 or no remakes, they will probably remake those games before ff7

  • @huntedhunter09 I cant see anyone remaking ff8, that game was terrible

  • @85buickV8 storywise maybe but it had one of the best combat systems in the ff series to date

  • @huntedhunter09 I just found it (ff8) too overly-ginnicky and complex for no real reason. After 7 being such a huge success 8 was a major letdown for me. for example "Drawing" your magic from enemies wtf? 9 was ok, 10 was getting much better, after 10 the rest since have just been terrible. They simply must do a remake of 7 or a similar based weapons/materia/magic system for the ps3 or ps4.

  • @85buickV8 i disagree, ff8 card game actually allowed you to make magic through the abilities you learn from the summons (GF), by converting cards to items then items to magic, and also magic to better magic, plus the combat was more interesting in my opinion than ff7, because you had summons that you could not only use in battle if you wanted, but they also were what made you strong by "junctioning" the magic you had, so it was like a circle,

  • @85buickV8 plus ff8 had an amazing sountrack, not dissing on ff7, cuz it was one of my favorites, but ff8 in my opinion has the best soundtrack, the battle music was great, the world map music was amazing, then you have force my way, man with the machine gun, and balamb garden's music

  • @85buickV8 also i disagree with your comment on the ff's after 10, 12 was amazing great combat system (except the magic queue) and the music was amazing, better then ff 7 actually in my opinion, and the bosses were fun to fight, then you had mark hunting which was fun, and it had an amazing ending with balthier and fran in the bahamut airship thing, also ff13, great game, best soundtrack out of any ff game, especially the boss, title, random battle, and oerba's music

  • @huntedhunter09 I guess we will have to agree to disagree then. The only good thing 8 started IMO was the card game. Everything about 7 was amazing to me, never before or since have I played a game where the storyline, music, and characters and even sidequests have sucked me in and glued me after 14+ years. 7 was amazing for its time but was already limited by the PS1 becoming old and outdated. If it were released for the first time today I think it would have a bigger following than W.O.W.

  • @85buickV8 How can you say FF7 was limited already by the ps1. If anything FF7 proved that the system had a lot of potential at the time. 9 and 9 were both a lot more advanced in terms of gaphical and audio quality. This is just a fact, apart from story or gameplay. Unless my way of seeing things isn't factual at all, but you'll have to prove it.

  • To me 8 just seemed too rushed and slopped together, like they hurried its release assuming everyone would love it as much as 7 just for the name. The storyline, characters, plot, everything just seemed so incomplete , needlessly complex and unsatisfying to me. I am currently playing 9, never got a chance to finish it. Enjoying that a lot more than 8. To me 8 was utterly forgettable, pretty much the same thing with 12. Haven't bothered with anything newer than 12.

  • @85buickV8 Wha...? VIII Was my personal favorite :(

  • @85buickV8 8 was deep, but it had to be played all the way through. squall develops late in the game. 9 is very fantasy, and not very deep at all, but fun. 13 was beautiful but boring. 12 was pretty epic, but not something to play twice, unlike 7.

  • @85buickV8 I enjoyed 8 personally. That said, it's not like i can't see where your coming from, but 8 is one of the ones i can keep coming back to. Actually, I could probably play any of the FFs before X, but everything after and including the mess that was X-2 i just could not finish. I could never get into 12 since I felt there was a lack of momentum in the plot progression, maybe something to do wiht the whole walk around explore MMOish feel. 9 is seriously underrated in my opinion.

  • @85buickV8 My gripe's and your's with FF8 seem fairly different (difference in people i suppose). I love FF8 but I dont like nearly as much as I do FF9 and FF7. Not so much because of story and characters (I fucking hate Zell I seriously dont know why) and whatnot, but personal design flaws. The Idea of enemies being scaled up to your level is awesome in theory but is poorly executed in FF8 minus a few enemies. Most enemies like 80% of them are virtually pathetic regardless of level.

  • @WhipLash42o I just couldn't get past the fact that 8 was hyped up so much in 1999, and turned out to be a major letdown for me. I agree about the junction system and drawing magic, too overly complex/time consuming for my liking and I think they changed a lot of stuff in game play for simply the sake of change. I simply thought the storyline was terrible, rushed together and uninspired. There were a few new things i liked (card game) but all in all 8 is simply forgettable for me.

  • @85buickV8 Ruby Dragon, Hexadragon, and Tri-Face (to name a few) are fairly formidable (notably ruby). But even then they're easily overcome by my next gripe....The Junction System, this was an awesome idea but also poorly executed. Most people wont care or might not even notice, I didnt notice til I started my 3rd run through. The junction system is so easily abused at any point that it virtually leaves 0 challenge going through the game. You can get 3300 hp on disc one and be fine til the end

  • @85buickV8 of disc 3. I'm not a huge fan of Drawing magic which is remedied by the card game as Quezacotl has Card Refine but even then to get some of the best spells they have to be drawn from annoying enemies (Like getting Meteor from Ruby) coupled along with only getting a max of 9 draws makes getting that shit annoying (for me anyway). I also hate how weak Omega weapon is as a superboss, Imho he's the most pathetic superboss in the series which doesnt make sense as his original variant is

  • @WhipLash42o I loved how challenging 7 was for someone with no experience with RPG's there were some sequences of the game (esp bosses) that I had to run through 3 or 4 times because they were so tough for me. Didn't even attempt the chocobo breeding the 1st time around, and knights OTR materia is overkill, except for using it on the annoying/boring Jenova death in the north cave. Fighting that thing "legit" can bore a person to death...

  • @steelbeltsdrumming Agreed, I have a ton of fond memories with FF7. I didnt have a guide neither nor did I have the internet to turn to lol. It was just me and my 3 good pals, we would share secrets and shit and tell each other how we beat bosses and stuff. I remember I found out how to get the underwater materia first, I got it and was like (this shit's worthless....) come Emerald I got pwned but didnt even notice I didnt have a timer til my friend pointed it out.

  • @steelbeltsdrumming We knew virtually nothing of Item duplicating so it hiting the old fashioned grind, by leveling materia on morpher's lol leveling in the gelnika XD. Finally we managed to pool our strats together and triumph over emerald at like level 86 and no KoTR (it took us forever for any of us to do chocobo breeding). We never beat Ruby, I beat him months ago after finding out he doesnt drop his tenticles if two members are dead we always died to whirlsand lol.

  • @steelbeltsdrumming I love to this day the materia system, my favorite strat is making Tifa my cover counter tank lol. I remember failing maaaany times to fucking Red Dragon in temple of the ancients my first time through. So many good memories man.

  • @steelbeltsdrumming I love 9 too, it has a great story imo and has the best soundtrack also my opinion. I like how it has the "classic" feel I get whenever I play the oldies, I also like how all the characters are unique in thier own way such as combat and personalization through use of abilities. Plus Alexander straight up owning Bahamut was fucking boss lol. I also love how it brought back the challenge 8 was missing, I cant begin to tell you how man times I lost to Soulcage in the Iifa tree.

  • @WhipLash42o lol and queena is a freaking boss!

  • @huntedhunter09 Quina is the shit lol, he has to be one of my favorite's XD "Argh! Quina angry! I cook you goood!"

  • @WhipLash42o lol and freya was a beast with the dragon crest move, and the cherry blossom move too i think..., also they should have sooooo made beatrix or beatrice a permanent party member... she's a boss!

  • @WhipLash42o One thing I think we can all agree on is how this music takes us back, 14 years ago already, just how different my life was and the world was back then.

  • @WhipLash42o i got 6800 easy, on disc one, before even attempting to assassinate edena in dollet or whatever that place is

  • @85buickV8 significantly more dangerous. I love the music in it but I personally FF9's soundtrack more, the story is fairly solid, has "some" nice characters (looking at you chicken wuss) some fairly nice development, leveling your GF is a pretty sweet niche, and the visuals look nice. All in all not saying FF8 was terrible I think its great, but due to my own personal outlook on it I cant place it higher than FF7 or FF9. It still remains one of my favorite PS1 games and i'm proud to own it.

  • @WhipLash42o I guess 7 was the first real "modern" RPG I had tried, and the storyline sucked me in from the start. I did the first run through on 7 with no strategy guide and no online help, I didn't end up getting Yuffie or Vincent till the very end, they were level 45 while everyone else was level 90+ I am now a few hours away from finishing 9 and find myself bored with that now for some reason (I'm in that weird planet area with Zidane and Kuja's "father")

  • @85buickV8 If the battle system in 8 moved a bit faster, I would have enjoyed it. Outside of the battle system, I thought it was a REALLY great game.

  • @DerShogun10 I got drunk and angry on night and chucked my PS1 across the room, put a huge hole in the wall. The Ps1 still works with no damage LOL

  • @85buickV8 Wow! same thing happened to me, except it was a window not my wall, and I was in a 2nd floor, still works fine , in fact I've finished FF7 again with all sidequests and it still feels the same excitement LOL

  • why have war, when you could have final fantasy 7's soundtrack

  • @67zenoah Inb4 Sephiroth vs Kefka flamewar D:

  • When did this play again?

  • @Mewtwo465

Oh I remember during Cloud's remembrance.

  • @Mewtwo465 When Cloud and Tifa were in the lifestream, cloud wanted to remember WHY he went to join SOLDIER. the tune played when it says that Tifa and Cloud fell off Mt Nibel and she was in a coma for a week, she thought her Mother was on the other side of that mountain when cloud followed her and her friends who left her and cloud till her asshole old man helped only her.

  • @Ziggman2g

Oh yes I remember now. Thanks.

  • Oooohhhh my god. So many memories. I remember playing this game all day long when I was a kid and just eating junk food... my cheetos, a coke and the warm TV light. How nostalgic...

  • @honeybataco i used to do that to! those were the days.....

  • this tune is easy to play with guitar! vincents theme is harder!

  • I Mime'd the replay button!

  • /Im sick of all the lies that everyone's spoutin'/

/the absence of your sound has got me feelin' like poutin'/

/but your too far gone for me to keep on countin'/

/for now ill just wait for you on the other side of the mountain../ ((NM))

  • Poor Cloud...tried to be with Tifa but when they both fell from the bridge and they got hurt, Tifa's dad blamed it all on him.... T.T

  • this is the only song EVER that made me cry.. I have no idea why. One time I was listening to this and I was thinking about this guy I really liked who broke my heart just to be mean. I still have no idea why this made me cry. Nothing ever makes me cry!!

  • I hadn't played this game in years.... but one day, I was in the shower and I just started humming this tune......

  • To me this song is very personal the mountain represents the thing that separates both of us

  • @TheMiiGeR

It was played when Cloud and Tifa fell into the lifestream when Mideel was attacked by Ultima Weapon, and she was trying to recover Cloud's memory.

  • i would threaten the pianist with a knife to play this at a wedding when the bride and groom come down the aisle.

  • It's so sad when all of Tifa's friends abandon her while she tries to cross the mountain path. Only Cloud follows her from a distance, watching over her. Man, this scene always makes me all teary eyed. =(

  • Some part of the music sounds like Lagrima:

  • @chengyanslc

It's what it's based on, try playing Lagrima in E

  • @chengyanslc It sounds very much like Lagrima; a very beautiful piece also.

  • “I hate… ShinRa, SOLDIERs and you.” “I hate you all" Tifa believed her mother had gone to Mt. Nibel, and was killed by the shinra's mako reactor monsters.. her parents et her village have been destroyed by the shinra :-(

  • this scene made me love tifa

  • I love this song, it makes me feel both happy and sad..

  • Does is music make one feel sad or happy? Can this be used for a wedding at the point where the bride walks down the aisle?

  • what a great piece of music games don't seem to have good music anymore :(

  • This sound a bit like Lagrima from Francisco Tarrega

    watch?v=ZgVDl_tElzk

  • Tifas dad: HOW COULD U CLOUD, U MADE TIFA FALL OFF MT NIBEL FOR PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF FEET AND ALL THAT HAPPENED WAS SHE WAS IN A COMA FOR a week or so............

  • best game ever

  • I've played this game from start to finish FOUR TIMES and I STILL don't remember where this song is played. =(

  • "This is the day...The day my mom died."

  • @TalynnDeRa Yeah, when Tifa say that, I was already crying.((

  • @TalynnDeRa Tifa says that right? I remember the music I just can't recall right now...

  • i think its from one of the mount nibel flashbacks. with tifa and stuff when they were kids.

i cant remember for sure though

  • @Sunrider84 yeah four times!dude im italian and...I LEARN THE FUCKING ENGLISH WHIT COMPLETING THIS GAME SO MUCH UNTIL I'VE STARTED TO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH!!!(Sorry for the big write!;)

  • @Sunrider84

FYI, this song is played before you climb over the mountain (before you find out it's actually a huge crater) in order to get to Sephiroth and the people in black cloaks trying to go to the "Reunion." It's right after you faint in the snow fields and re-awake in this old guy's cabin. I don't know if it's played during other cut scenes as well, though.

  • @Sunrider84

it played in the second half of the game, when cloud has a flashback. in the flash back, he and tifa are hanging out in behind a mountain (as per the name of the song), and she falls and breaks her back or something.

what exactly happens in that scene? i forget the details. but that's when the song plays. :)

  • During Tifa's attempt to straighten out Cloud's mind (after fighting Ultima Weapon in Mideel), this song is played while Cloud is retelling the what happened on the day when Tifa's mother died.

Basically Tifa tried to cross Mt Nibel (her logic being that, since no one crosses it alive, the dead must have crossed it), and Cloud followed. However, on the bridge that is oh-so-fondly of breaking, both of them fell, and Tifa got in a seven day coma for it (while Cloud suffered only minor injuries).

  • When Tifa gets injured while going to Mt. Nibel as a kid. Cloud comes to help her and gets blamed for her getting hurt.

  • i just truly love this song...

  • this theme is one of the best in ff7.

it reminds me of my early childhood, just hanging out with my best friend, we played this game non-stop.

  • You and me both.

  • @trucalling100

    trueeeeeeee

  • @trucalling100 Yeah, I sure do miss those good old days. :(

  • @trucalling100 Youre not the only one, my friend. Me and my friend always held together and playing this game not thinking about a single thing but the game...

  • This track fits classical guitar very well. It's very emotional..

  • why i have to finish this game U.U

and why i lose the cd game XD

  • i wish square could make a song out of this music

  • i wish they would too, it would be so awsome, i'd be like the first one to buy the song. LOLZ

  • final fantasy vll is in play station store !

  • I cry every time this comes on and Tifa's like "this is the day.....my mom died" T_T

  • my fav ff game is which ever i'm playing at the time lol, they're all awesome in many different ways. Thanks for putting this music up

  • this song always gets me

i love this game so much

  • best game ever :)

  • OK, no choosing FF favorites, they all have addicting beautiful bittersweet nostalgic additives, and if these songs were drugs, they'd be very dangerously powerful.
