I'm glad to see tenchu maybe starting to return to form after the horrible Tenchu Z game. I've been a fan of the series since the early ps1 titles and own everything I enjoyed, writing off wrath of heaven and Z as nowhere near as fun as their predecessors. Although I can understand your point, in which you are simply not permitted

to be seen without paying the penalty.

empty shell while calling it equally rich.

I've played all the previous Tenchu games, and I have to say this is the best Tenchu game I've played so far!!! This is just an awesome game...I love the different stealth moves and neck breaking, and how you can hide underneath crevices and bushes and use surprise stealth attacks...Love the lightning effects and the music is great!

I recently dug into some serious graphical adventure gaming,

and finished Leisure Suit Larry VII and Grim Fandango.

They are also 'the best', in their respective genre.

Many games are worthy of a shared first place in my book.

Perhaps it's useful to note I picked up Telltale's Sam & Max series,

This game is messed up if you get send back

to the beginning of a stage for being spotted.

It denies the player everything that should be fun

in this game, the likeliness of being seen, THEN

having to figure out how to get out of those tricky

situations by escaping to roofs etc.

This anti-feature literally turns a would-be-good

game, into a piece of shit minigame.

I hope there is more to this game then THAT.

i really enjoy shinobido better than this game. i agree with lobos, its too much of a puzzle/game. acquire had also helped make this game but its too stiff in my opinion. its only fun if youre really good at it and you can do instant hissatsu´s.

This game is more a puzzle game than stealth. In a stealth game you choose the way in, the execution and the escape. Here you just have to find the "right" combination of moves to get to the finish... like a puzzle game.

If you are expecting Tenchu 1 or a Thief like game you will be disappointed.

Its more like the Hitman games IF you only have one way of executing the mission.

I do wish they incorporated more spontaneity and improvisation into the gameplay, not that it doesn't exist but the game is somewhat rigid in its approach. This game is still very enjoyable though and yes, it does help if you are good at it. That's what learning is about though.
