  • mass produced katanas are shouldn't be campared to a traditionally made one. They mass-produced them during world war 2. The average traditionally made katanas starts from at least a few thousand dollars. Imagine mass produced Rolls Royces Made in China etc.. Just my opinion.

  • The swords you want are from Ronin swords .com.au

It's an Australian company that sell the best swords in the world,

They are quite cheap considering the quality!

The average katana from ronin.com.au is 39.5" long and is built to cut through most objects including metal, brick, plastic and wood!

The average katana is $400 aus

  • masahiro mass produces utter junk

  • 240p,we meet again...

  • Do you ship to Australia?

  • @swordsofmight do you ship to brazil ?

  • do you ship to brazil ? please answer

  • do you ship to singapore?

  • I.. must! wield it!

  • does the musashi zetsurin come with that cool box and shit

  • Looks like mine but i made mine diffrent go to my channel to see my katana

  • Cut something!!

  • I Bought One Like 3 Years Ago,

  • How long does it take to ship to Ontario Canada?

  • Masahiro katanas are actually pretty good for their low price. I got one at the Flea Market for about $70... It actually cut pretty well and was a lot more resilient than I thought it would be. I used it to cut down small trees and hit it against a few pieces of junk metal and stuff like that. It took over a year for me to end up breaking the handle, even with the abuse I put it through. The reason the blade is destroyed is because I bent it in half with my bare hands after I got really angry.

  • Yeah, I guess I should really learn how to control my temper. Anyway, I guess this is the point I'm trying to make... Imagine how much longer these swords could last in the hands of somebody who isn't as irresponsible or short-tempered as myself. Trust me. These blades are actually pretty good for their price, so long as you don't like an irresponsible idiot with it like I did.

  • how is this only 60 bux if nots total crap?

  • do you ever have any problems with your katana

  • Can you review the furinkazan katana?

  • @shentaro I have the furinkazan katana, it was a beautiful sword, and very great for practice and some light cutting, i tested on water bottles, 12liter soda bottles and yoga mats and it worked wonders. hope this somewhat helped.

  • @softndsmooth Ah it did, thanks I was hoping it was sharp enough to do something like that, I love the whole Furinkazan thing so I am getting the sword, the fan and the shirt form Amazon, the case it comes with looks beutiful too. Thank you for letting me know! I am also getting the cleaning kit.

  • @shentaro I do not have the cleaning kit, though it's very popular. My blade was stainless steel, I'm not sure if they make carbon variants. The sword is great and very well balance, the only thing I never seem to solve, with any sword I've ever purchased for that matter, is after several draws, the mouth of the saya becomes worn out and the blade unsheathes too easily.

  • Come on for 60.00 you could buy a good knife.I don't care if it's 2.00 or 1,000 why waste your money? You want to through it away i'll take it.

  • the sword is a piece of crap and not full tang check out Hyoujinsama vid

  • @jermo777 What do you expect for 60.00 come on

  • I got a question. Is musashi miyamoto's sword considered a Daito because of the shaku? or is it considered a katana because of the hilt length?

  • Should I get a Masahiro elite or a Musashi Sword?

  • Anybody know the difference between a 1060 blade and a 1040?

  • @MrRubio07 the value after the ten refers to the carbon content. 1040 steel is about .4% carbon. more carbon makes the steel harder and more efficient for cutting

  • you should have mentioned that the nakago only comes half way inside the tsuka... plus that the end of the nakago is glued in. These are SERIOUS defects in the sword.

  • Can you do one for the musashi Zetsurin katana? I was thinking of getting one

  • Oh ya ! One more thing, the price is probably more because that's what happens. Prices go up all the time. I'd have better luck putting my pants on using only my elbows, then explaining such simple things to simple people.

  • Don't listen to anyone here. Your video is great! Nothing wrong with your voice and as far as enthusiasm goes , your selling swords not cures for cancer. It would be creepy if you got super excited about all this. The video is fine.

  • no offense but the guy whos doing this has a very boring voices but nice swords anyway

  • If your going to make a video to market a product maybe next time you could show a little more enthusiasm.... And on your website it says the sword is $65 not $59.. Either way thanks for posting

  • does the blood groove have anything to do with the quality of the sword or the ability to cut objects

  • @weed123282 From what I know, the bo-hi/ fuller (blood groove is an incorrect term!) doesnt have anything to do with the quality of a blade. Its main purpose is to lighten the blade. Blades with bo-hi also make a swoosh noise when swung correctly. Which is not only cool, but also helps you see if your form is correct. The downside to fullered blades is that they are not as efficient cutters as solid bodied blades.

  • i am in peru your bands, and I have a muasashi q. and if sold

and more as the cost of shipping ami country that is united country

  • @katanasperu Google translate fails again!

  • can you use this sword for batle or is it just for display?

  • ?!OMFG CAN I STILL GET ONE

  • lmao@ the tiger box lolololololololol why do mall ninjas buy cheap ass junk like this? buy a good knife instead

  • nice sword, but too bad swordsofmight doesnt ship to Aus.

  • can you please make a unboxing review on the Masahiro Elite Kenshin Katana im planning on buying this sword and i would like to see it in a persons hands and not just on the your website.

  • can u show the stand in a video please i plan on buying the sword

  • If you are going to spend money on a real hand tempered katana go with full tang and expect to spend a lot of money.

  • fuck idiot!

    you aren't japanese

    not in body

    not in soul

    fuck!

  • @marcoduradoni What does being japanese have anything to do with sword knowledge or weapon knowledge in general?

  • @marcoduradoni I had no idea that you had to be Japanese to have interest or knowledge in swords. I also never knew that anybody ever CLAIMED to be Japanese on here. Thanks for letting me know.

  • been googleing it but i can't find a retailer for europe on these anywhere. halp someone?!?

  • Why do I get the feeling the box costs as much as the sword itself?

  • does it come in black instead of brown?

  • Soo boooreddd

  • I just might buy one. Very Aesthetically pleasing, lol. I like the brown color. Are they sharp?

  • why cant swordsofmight increase its inventory a bit =[? I mean I waited for months to buy swords from you, but it was never available, and I ended up buying from another website, which had everything available to buy.

i like the website, but it's pretty weird for you to advising to sell what you don't actually have =[

  • 1:33 now when you say cutting sir. what kind of cutting are we talking about?

  • @TheRelicator probably light cutting, like tatami mats and some bamboo and stuff and flesh. i got a musashi zetsurin katana and i wouldnt go around swinging it at big trees or lamp posts or anything.

  • Oh ya, by the way everyone that is interested in this sword..buy it from Handmade swords, they are a reputable retailer, and there stuff is legitimate..swords of might sucks..haha PWNED

  • Why is it so cheap?

  • b.c. its cheaply made... there is no soft steel center to give it flexibility like most hand forged swords... that one may not even be handforged.. o_O

  • Well hand forging is not a must for function unless you're a purist, however the quality of the steel, the tang and some heat treatment are absolutely necessary.

  • Its a good beginner sword for people that like to practice cutting and have never owned a real sword before (LIke me). It gives you a idea of what to be conscious for on ur next sword (Example: weight, sharpness, carbon content, how easy the scabbard gets nikked up, etc.); SIDE NOTE, this blad is a 1045 carbon steel serious; 1060 and 1095 are stronger/better blades.

  • what do mean real sword? Unless you have an authentic Katana sword, dates back to Fuedal Japan, or that is forge by sword masters in Japan....then you can call it a real katana sword.Otherwise its "chitana"...Made in China.

  • I just meant a sword that wasnt plastic or stainless steal and that you could actually use in a battle just like they used too haha..as far as where its made, you could be rite, it migjht very well be made in china..but its a quality sword no question..At least my musashi sword is..

  • no thats nonsense if it is made in the traditional japanese way then it is a real katana not authentic but sure it is real on the authentic part i agree with you

  • Well Said, I Agree With Him

  • now heres the bs part any sword seller can take a sword and show u how it looks and talk about it but in the end talk is cheap. next time please show some demonstrations with the sword. but nice sword nonthe less

  • that box is NOT embroidered. hahaha.

  • you're right

  • nice box that it comes in! are these available seperately? i'd like a nice box like that to put my antique shinken in...

  • does swords of might ship to the uk

    plz answer

  • @XVietAZNPrideX

He never said it was a real sword, in fact he mentioned Faux hammon. He knows, I know, and I'm sure everyone else knows that is for cutting tamagashiri at an economical cost.

  • This may hit you hard, but the fact is. I can really chop you without the 40k dollar shinsakuto.

Yea, if you wouldn't have watched so much movies you ought to know that it can be done with even some cheapass major B-quality tatami sword.

  • you know, i care what the tsuba looks like, and you didnt show it once.

    is it because its ugly?

    NO BUY!

  • @TheRelicator

Musashi tsuba is the desing with 2 rings crosing each other. Noting special just 2 rings. It is popular because its a Miyamoto Musashi invention. OR so they say...

    @third00

Why it so cheap? It is chiniese junk. Dangerous blade to use. Kids buy that to "become" ninja or samurai... go figure.

    Pointless video/mass advertising. 1/5 stars

  • also, Masahiro does not have a website and the blades are all outsourced from other forges, meaning they basically get anything the main forge wouldn't want their name on.

there have been mixed reviews on Masahiro swords, some are good and some are just crap. roll of the dice when you buy one.

some chinese swords are excellent for the price you pay, but they dont start getting good until about $300+

cheap or expensive, they arent toys.

  • nope they arnet i agree with you swords are made to kill they have no other purpose so you must not treat them as mere toys and you must also respect them and learn about the sword before you even think of holding one but anyway i fully agree with you ^_^

  • real ray skin dont make me laugh

  • is it full tang?

    battle ready and all?

i'm just trying to understand why it is so cheap in price.

  • its not all that sharp, they dont use real ray skin for the tsuka, and the blade steel is cheap. as in cheap i mean that it is great but not as hard as the more expensive steels. still a great buy

  • full tang it's chinese?

  • its a japanese sword mate.

  • so why is this is so cheap?

  • You guys at Swords of Might should really consider doing "cut tests". Viewers would love it.

  • They do.

  • is this a good starting functional sword? i would like to get a 1045+carbon steel blade, heat tempered, with case like the one shown above. preferabley a red/brown/maroon saya. help *cries*

  • Yes this sword along with all other Masahiro swords are very good functional swords, just make sure you get it from a reliable store like this place or swordsofdestiny.

  • just an update, i went to the site and the price is 65 now. in case anyone was wondering about purchasing ^_^ i'm thinkinga bout it.

  • Is it heavy?

  • that might be a little more curve in that blade than my taste would cater too o.O looks alright for 60 bucks though

  • ray skin is like stingray yes?

  • <<what the guys below me said. thats bullshit

    paul chien ftw

  • kevin/hyujinsama just posted a warning regarding some production swords. he opened up the tsuka and he saw that inside the extra long handle, part of it was hollow. that sword he reviewed by the way was this sword, the masahiro elite musashi sword. careful when you are using this for cutting practice, the tsuka might break while in the middle of your swinging motion. practice safely!

  • Yeah it's not even full tang!

  • i just bought this sword today im so happy i cant wait for it to get here it should be here on wensday so yay

  • zomg beautiful embroidered dragon box.

  • i like the musachi katana but i prefer the chinese sword

  • chinese straight swords that often break during use? sounds like you dont know much about swords and you just blurted chinese cause you thought they were better, typically american dumb!

  • i am european

i forge a sword long of the day

  • typically humanly dumb...Your peoples ignorance has begun to astound me.

  • do you even know what we were talking about?

  • That sword has a nice curve..

  • And do you know when the snake odachi will be back in stock? item number:k8866 please reply thank you

  • If you cantact us by email, we will work something out for you.

  • Looks very standard, how long is the tsuka?

  • XL soka ?

    shinobi katana ????

  • what would you suggest the musashi katana for fifty or the horse raider. im a beginner

  • for 50$ neither i would save up to get a good quality katana its not worth getting a cheap katana they are really weak and not that durable at least get a 150$ katana

  • Hell, I paid $400 for mine. And it's still a cheap sword.

  • anything under 200 is cheap... 200 - 500 is cheap but looks really good =p ... 500+ and youll be getting into high grade practical katanas... shame they arent used anymore, not many people are truly skilled in traditional katana making, making said high grade swords hard to come by... 400$ im jealous though, i cant afford to spend that much on a single blade >.>

  • "500+ and youll be getting into high grade practical katanas"

thats bs there are plenty of amazing swords and blades for under 500$ that are easily high grade for 'production'(what u meant to say) katana....

thats only the lowest rung of the ladder...

there are MANY makers of katana of all varieties...

  • sure if you buy them straight from japan. if you are looking at online american companies that make mass produced katanas and you want one for practical use, what i said applies. sure if you coast around rural japan im sure you can find some of the highest quality katanas youll see for an excellent price. and i didnt say production, i said practical. as in the practicality of use, not just sitting there.

  • you dont read well do you?

any sword from japan will cost you several thousand dollars. any less and i would be dubious of its origins.

you clearly dont know what a production sword is....

do a little more homework ...

  • *NOT IMPORT* damn man lol. practical, not production, read what /I/ said. don't bother respondin im done lol

  • good.. glad you are... fucking moron.

a PRODUCTION SWORD is one MASS PRODUCED for PRACTICAL USE!

you have no clue what you are talking about.... if u had bothered to even google the word u fumbled you wouldnt look so moronic...

  • do you know what either of those terms mean?

    methinks you dont....

production swords are modern made for PRACTICAL USE

    fucking ignoramus.

fk i hate when ppl reply to themselves.... scared to get called on their BS....

  • He meant buy it straight from " the country it self"

  • druidsteen4 said he preferred a chinese sword, i wasnt talking about buying it straight. are you clinically stupid?

  • is it sharp enough to slice someone?

  • no shit...

  • where can I buy me one?

  • FAKE HAMON?

  • the hamon is fake on musashi right?

  • yep, acid-etched.

    I think.

    =]

  • Yes.

  • what is stronger? carbon steel or damascus steel?

  • Original damascus steel is much more expensive than carbon steel, so it might be better. Masahiro katanas are usually made of carbon steel, but they're really good ;]

  • Yes. The Damascus steel itself is a carbon steel, It is just tempered differently and like therion said, much more expensive.

  • damascus

  • 私は日本人です。

    私も日本刀が大好きです。

    I am Japanese.

    I love Japanese swords.

  • i bought one of these about 3 months ago, they cost wey more here, mine cost £350, it is a full tang though, the only difference is mine has a black wrap handle

  • black wrap is better its more traditional

  • Comment removed

  • if you juggle it your stupid use for what it is used for

  • its 2/3 tang right? does it feel like full tang?

  • It is just about full tang, they have been upgraded.

  • in the last 15 years i have been preforming, i have dropped a sword once ,,in practice

    so do as you do

i dont think now ,i will buy off of you

ive juggled chainsaws and swords fire ,you name it, ive juggled it

i was asking a question, may you answer it please

would these swords chip if they fell

Mushu Jikeden Eishin Ryu Iiado ,

,ive studied for a time also,

    may have misspelled it

  • nice review

  • i got this for 73 bucks with shipping at SOM. its great.

  • if i lived in america, and ws 18 or older (i'm 15) i'd buy this

  • thanx swords of might.

  • i just bought this i hope it is good.

  • Could you do a video like this on the Musashi God of Wind sword?

  • im gonna buy it once i get the money, also in the website it says its carbon steel but in other websites it says high carbon steel(1060)

  • It is not 1060. It is 1045.

  • Which terms are you referring to?? It is pronounced Saya... not "say ya as some think

  • sounded to me like you pronounced it all right

  • The Masahiro Musashi is a wallhanger. Not razorsharpened and not meant for practice. The cutting edge is bevelled. It does cut, but is not sharpened like a functional katana. If you want a decent cutter from same brand & price range, go for Masahiro Dragon or Bamboo. Only a few Masahiros are razorsharpened. The rest all have a bevelled edge. I have the Elite Fuji. My friend has the Elite Musashi. Both have a bevelled cutting edge.

  • We both own a Dragon too and that 1 is razorsharpened with the flowing V-line up to the bo-hi. Though a little underweight, the dragon is an ok cutter for beginners. And with extra sharpening it even becomes a pretty good cutter for such a cheap price.

  • You are correct and thanks for the info

  • is the masahiro elite musashi like good enough to cut tatami though?

  • can you not just go get your sword sharpened?

  • I looked into that too, but getting your sword sharpened like it should be, costs waaayyyy more than the sword itself.

  • im having trouble with the site

half of it doesnt work and it looks like a search engine for sites not as selling site

p.s. do you ship to Israel?

  • We do not ship overseas.

  • will this be at least sharp enough to cut a beach mat or water jug?

  • They are usually sharp enough, but you must watch as these are not quite full tang.

  • oh ok, im gonna get one but the tang isnt full because the tsuka is so long? or is it just not double pegged?

  • It is double pegged, but the tang stops right at the second peg. I was not privy to this info when making this review or I would have said.

  • Forgive me for being skeptical of the quality. If it's that cheap, can I trust this sword to be fully functional? This is not an exhibition sword is it?

  • When buying anything in life, you must always consider price. The only part of this sword which is not good is the tang. It is not full and the end of the handle has been known to snap.

  • is there will be any problems if i buy it online, because my country at malaysia.

  • I am sorry, we do not ship overseas.

  • oh ok,thanks

  • lol LUCKILY im a master sharpener lol(really)

  • jason i have a real good question :D from a scale of 1-10 what do you rate this swords sharpnes?

  • I would say it is hit and miss. Most of the lower end masahiro swords are either really sharp or unevenly sharpened. If you are looking for a better cutter I would go with a Musashi...

  • ok, thank you very much for the info :)

  • May you tell me how much doest the sword cost?
