  • awww... D: His friend comes to help him...

  • Can anyone tell me if epilepsy is common in pugs and what to look for ? My baby boy does twitch in his sleep sometimes and I worry about my angel

  • Rest in Peace little duder, I hope you had a happy pug life.

horrible to watch a seizure, I feel the fact it's been filmed and shared at least gives it the purpose of expanding knowlede. I'm browsing to find out if the different kinds of seizures point towards certain causes. I mean my pug has had slow-motion seizures, 3x startin last year ( he's 7 y.o. now) it looks like another vid of a pug moving it's head sideways and paws spread full tensity. I hope w. all my heart it isn't PDE...

    peace

  • Sorry for your loss, my one year old baby pug, Frodo just started having these 10 second fits where his body becomes stiff and he cries in pain. I'm so worried. Don't want him to die.

  • @tamsinislam1

We took Duder to Purdue University's Veterinary hospital to get a conclusive diagnosis. They performed an MRI and spinal tap. It was definitely expensive but gave us the best treatment options to extend his life. He was put on a combination of steroids, anti-epileptics, and a type of chemotherapy med. They're many other conditions that cause seizures, so identifying what is causing them early can prevent help prevent a great deal of pain and suffering.

  • This is so sad. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

  • Sadly Duder passed away just before Christmas. Treatment from our vet and Purdue University extended his life and happiness as long as possible. We miss him dearly.

  • how is your pug now, with pde there is no cure,my rupert died of suspected pde on his first fit, this brings back sad memories

  • nickcurd, this is just so sad. My pug has idiopathic epilepsy, but hasn't had a seizure in 6 months.

I wish you the best of luck with your pug and please give him a hug from me and my Olive.

  • He has a condition called Necrotising Pug Dog Encephalitis. His immune system is attacking the brain for an unknown reason and it causes epilepsy and tissue death among other things.

  • why do it have epilepsy?
