Had this on cassette tape. Was titled 12" on Tape. Damn I miss that tape. Flip side Owner of a Lonely Heart mix was not as good as this the Leave it mix.
This was the first 12" single I ever purchased back in 1983, which then led to 23+ years as a club DJ. Heard it on the radio in the middle of the night, called up the station and asked, "what the hell was THAT?" The DJ explained to me that it was a 12" remix single and where I could find it. The next day I went to a local record store and picked up a copy, and then found myself instantly hooked (and obsessed) with buying 12" remixes of songs. Gotta thank Trevor Horn for that!
A follow up on something I just noticed...if you want to hear a song that Trevor produced that had some very similar sounds in it (most likely inspired by this mix), look up Propaganda - Abuse (Dr. Mabuse remix) and listen at 1 minute into the song. It's the same keyboard as the one that comes in at 7:27 in this mix. :-)
Nice extended dance mix for the clubs. Amazing how many audio & video versions there are of this song and they're all wonderful in different ways..all by virtue of outstanding songwriting from Trevor Rabin & great production from Trevor Horn...who was just awarded the CBE! & well deserved at that!
Yeah, I like Trevor Horn's part in Yes because he was the person that reinterpreted them as a modern band - which didn't work as well for them, but who else has managed to do something like that? Drama and 90125 were no Fragile or Close to the Edge, either, but I dig them.
This is on the credits of 9012Live. The live concert from the 90125 tour.
You can find it on dvd.

I bought this in 1983. It hardly left my turntable. Never managed to find it on CD. Is it available?
Thanks for sharing, it brought back some wonderful memories of my teenage years!!

I've also never heard this before. So many influences in there that many (or just The Art Of Noise) bands would use in their productions.
I still rate Trevor Horn as a pioneering producer.

1984 was a really good year for dance music, as were 1983, 1982 and 1981. Great 12"!
