  • @NAIADA dude in australia, we had howard lick bushs ane blair ass hole. and he hae no one licking his haha

  • Brilliant! Love it. Thanks for sharing this :)

    Peace

    Ray

  • A great rewrite.

  • i think robert zimmerman would approve of the liberties you took in changing up his song a bit. well done!

  • PRICELESS!!!!!!

  • PRICELESS!!!!!!

  • @gordondelma Thanks much !

  • As Noriega learned, and now Saddam, you don't steal from your partner or double cross the Bush's.

    Thanks for that good one.

  • Politics aside. I think this is a good song. A good song should tell a story and have you listening for the next line and that is exactly what this song did for me

Good one Jan Gord and Jody

  • Blair did some licking up to Bush.....And Blair lied to the British people.

I have no sympathy for a killer like Hussian and his evil henchmen.

But I do like your song.

  • reallly really great!

  • Somehow I think it was kinda impossible to poison Bush with words...He did his own poisoning, me thinks. lol Thanks for sending me a post @ the 3rd anniversary, man. Keep the vids coming. Peace.

  • Nice work ! :)

  • Sorry, but a biased liberal view of Saddam's execution while blaming President Bush for everything under the sun is just not my cup of tea. Perhaps if you did a song about all the lies Obama has told it would appeal to me more?

  • Thanks for stopping by, kjohns2001. You might find our video "Stimulus Package Blues" more to your liking.

  • I will give it a look. Glad to see you try to do something for both sides of the political spectrum.

  • @kjohns2001 Think ya might go cut one in your own church there, eh, champ?!

  • Awesome! Great job.

  • I'm sorry, I don't dig.

  • Very nice verson (:

  • Really brilliant, friend! Thanks so much for talking to me about your "Execution Row". Congratulations.

  • That was incredibly fantastic Jan, how come I didn't find this sooner? You're great young lady!!!!!! Loved this re-write of Dylans classic. He should watch this!!! Mark

  • Thanks so much, Mark. This is my personal favorite of all my songs. I prepared for this for 30 years, in that I had memorized Desolation Row decades ago. When the "festivities" in Iraq cried out for this song to be written, I was ready.

  • Great lyrics. fantastic!

  • Thats real country music! Reminds me of Loretta Lynn and jack White (Womans Prison)

  • Thanks, smokindog. I think "Woman's Prison" is an awesome song and maybe even a landmark in Loretta's ever-evolving career. I sure do appreciate the comparison.

  • I this aint country you can .......:-)

    This is really sweet!!!

  • You Rock, Ms. bubbleheadmyass The USA is the embarrass- -ment of the entire planet And "We The People" cannot Afford to be blamed for their illegal Invasions & genocidal bull Forced upon our innocent families By lying that we make raq free Rght now Baghdad's imprisoned Behind usa concrete walls, one cheks in & out with deaths squads rampant Young, usa, trained, "do-what-they-want" Troops the same kind the CIA Trained, & that killed 140,000 in 80's Guatemala. A Shame!
  • Wake 'em up Jan!!! 5 *****s and more.

    G R

  • I thought parodies were exclusive from Mexico. This is an excelent protest song. I do agree with this song.

  • Just brilliant !!!

  • Nice,I love it!

  • The Central Intelligence Agency was created by the Rothschilds, not to discover facts of importance to national security, but to manufacture and disseminate ideologies and disinformation which serve Rothschild interests, and to create evidence to support that ideology, such as by planting Soviet weapons caches, or coercing newspapers into covering up damaging information, or even manufacture stories to support the Rothschild ideology.

  • wow, that sounds fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is looks like a song about some old oilly thirsty vampire who like to suck all the blood out of ya?

    like it 5 ******

  • Well... May the God or Goddess bless us all. (Poloiticians scare the heck out of me... All of them)!

Jan... Keep up the writing and singing... You have a bright light, my friend!

  • incredible song, this is what i'd like to hear more of on the country radio stations. Can any voting age citizen of the U.S. file a case for treason against former president Goerge W Bush for his involvement in the demolition of the world trade centre buildings?

  • this is great, did you make the music?

  • Hi Kevin. I wrote the lyrics. I brought the original Dylan recording to Robert Berry, one of the Remington Riders, who played the instruments and reproduced the sound. --Jan

  • wow this is great JAN

  • I dont get it....

is this just another bush bashing song...god guys give him a freaking break. I mean yeah he wasnt the best president but he was better than nixon

  • Nobody died from Nixon's misdeeds, Vampericlegends.

  • at least tricky dick was trying to end the Vietnam conflict, and did get us out

  • Yeah, bigmikevt. I lived through Nixon and never thought I would see worse in my lifetime, but Bush makes Nixon look like Thomas Jefferson.

Anyway, Vampericlegends, I think this is more of a "bush indictment" than a "bush bashing" song.

  • That just about bottom-lines it. I quite like your song, bravo.

  • I am in ABSOLUTE awe at the passion-driven urgency in your voice. This just blew me to the wall for you have infused your all in this BRILLIANT showcase...with current social commentary,to boot. This is one that definately gets The Stewball Stamp of Approval!

    Pax & Blessings,

    Max

  • What can I say ..You said it all.Gives me a great idea on a new song...I have been working on one,but now i can go for it.. 5 stars

  • Thanks, Smackey. I gotta hear that. Hope you'll post it as a video response here when you finish it.

  • I hope Mr Dylan has heard this. Like Bush it deserves the widest possible exposure!

  • Many people thought this but nobody dared to say it and even though Bush was re-elected.

Fortunately, there is now something is changing.

    Very good song !!!

    Best wishes Simon

  • Very clever rewrite of Desolation Row.

  • that was really good.

    very.

it reminds me also of his songs "Masters of War" and "It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding"

that was great, keep it up:))

  • Nice. I remember when I lived in Turkey. We got interviews on tv with Iraqui leaders that weren't shown on tv in UK and USA. Their leaders were saying, about the weapons of mass destruction, "NO, it isn't true! We don't have any! The Americans and the British are just making this all up!" And we all thought, "Yeah, sure - you;re the liars, not our governments. You MUST have them! And we'll find them."

How wrong we all were nd what liars OUR leaders are.

Good song. - last few lines especially

  • Thanks so much, LordInksworth. And thanks for sharing that story. I, too, believed them at the beginning of the war.

  • We all have to live with the fall-out of this travesty. I would

like to pay my respects to Dr.David Kelly: a good man;who

committed suicide because the government "sexed up " the dossier.Everyone knew this was wrong.Excellent song;as true now as it was when first posted.

  • About time someone told it like it is in a song.

  • i see great times a comin', yeah, WE THE PEOPLE''', RISE UP, WE THE PEOPLE************

  • cool...clever.....

  • Very well done and a beautiful voice as well. It bespeaks of the crass nature of our part in world history. One very unfortunate side note to all of this, I'm told. The day he was executed was a special day in the Islam religion. Apparently, that is THE ONE DAY in the year set aside in the Muslim religion to PARDON SOMEONE for past behavior. I don't think this fact was unknown to those who have time and again found so many ways to insult the Muslims in our name. Truly a sad day for us all.

  • wow,it´s very good and a nice voice

  • This song is so powerful;and very beautifully sung.

I wish we could live in peace.

  • You got "great balls of fire"! You are very smart too. I recognize your talent but personally I prefer to stay at a poetical level when I work on Dylan songs. Anyway thank you for asking my opinion.

    Angela

  • well done song and video. always alot to think about...the world is turning

  • very creative and original.

  • Great satirical take on the dylan classic, well done 5*****

  • That's good.

  • Nice interpretation of the song! You've got a real good singing voice too! Thanks for the kind comments on my page too. Good to meet you.

  • WHOA! It takes a whole lot to get Neil Young's top spot on the world's BEST protest songs! I am in awe.. I spect mr. D has given his artistic nod..

I can only run behind and wave my hat and dance!

  • im not sure if i love or hate this.....

  • Well done for all the hits! You deserve it for a

    brilliant song;damn Bush..

  • wow, i'm realy glad you showed me this this is great, thank you.

  • As a Dylan fan & also a 60's San Francisco hippie I really enjoyed the sound & lyrics. I have grown up though & since I realize that one of the reasons you CAN post this song is because I have a nephew in Taji, Iraq right now I do not hold with the political stance. Everyone blames GWB & forgets our DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS & SENATE.I believe we need to be in Iraq. Gotta go carry my McCain sign now- I am not that lost from my S.F days.Just grew up some & unfortunately reality hit after acid wore off

  • How can you say this? You honestly think that it's right for

American troops to be in Iraq?Who is your commander-in-chief?BUSH.The buck stops at the top;whether you admit it or not;you talk about reality;and you want to vote for McCain? We did not even get a vote over Iraq..she can post this song because she wrote it;and its bloody good;not because your nephew is in Iraq!!Bush?Reality? Wake up!

  • bravo

  • Just got around to visiting your site from a comment you posted on mine, Will have to check back and hear some more of this This is quite a song thanks.

  • Good job. Good message.

  • Very well done. I especially like the point about the real winner of the Iraq War being Iran.

  • Very well done. I especially like the point that the real winner of the Iraq War is Iran.

  • Very well done. I especially like the point that the real winner of the Iraq War is Iran.

  • Amazing...! Never heard anything like it - except from Bob himself..maybe.

Very outspoken and powerful lyrics. Gotta love it!

Just don't get in trouble for it!

  • jan u tell like it is i fell the same way carolgun

  • Nice idea. I like it. I think Bob would like it too.

  • Incrediblejello;you could not even get the gender correct.Take your filth elsewhere;good response to your pathetic comment....

This song obviously sits uncomfortably on some people's shoulders;...The truth hurts;very powerful song;with a very strong message....LISTEN

  • I love it =]

  • Great lyrics! This is really well performed, well done :)

  • awesome!

  • LOL Great come-back! LOL ^5

  • lol. I can't decide if that was a compliment, critique or, solicitation ...!

Wanna know how I feel about this? Incedible interpelation and performances. Very powerful.

  • sounds like something right out of Abu Gahraib.

  • great work! *****

    kind regards, harmusic

  • Nice one. Bob would approve.

  • Great song! I'm glad you told me about it. And many thanks for checking out "Apology To Iran." I appreciate it. Peace.

  • With more than just a nod to Bob there...good lyrics jan..not political myself...just wish there was an end to all wars..

  • Wonderful great song,,,,just very poignant Jan Lewis---Thank you. Will share with others!

  • Great video, powerful words and well sung.

  • Jan...you ARE the parody princess!!! WEll the queen of parody but parody princess just sounded better ;)

  • LOL!! Rumsfeld disguised as Arafat?!I can just picture it! That's a great take on what's going on, and a clever way to re-write a song to fit the times. And what makes it so good is...IT'S TRUE.

  • Wonderful video Jan, thanks for sharing, praying for his impeachment and for Justice to prevail for all the lost souls who died in vain, suffered and for the sorrow that the lies caused. Peace and Justice to all of us humanity.

  • this invasion was always wrong;he is obscene! if there is any justice he will be tried as a war criminal in the hague;hes disgusting and so are cheney, rumsfeld and blair...dont listen to the idiot who said you couldnt sing;i thought you sang this with real power and emotion;a very powerful video;brilliant.

  • its a much bigger problem than one US administration.1st Gulf War,the same.Study Vietnam.Same thing, lies about a fake threat, attacking a country of people who never hurt or threatened a single American, slaughter of millions, laying a country to waste, carrying on for years,as long as they could.when it was over, swept under the rug,a horrible atrocity, war crimes, but Americans have no clue,McCain treated as a hero, maybe the next president. bury the rag deep in your face, nows the time for ur tears

  • Thanks for sending. Will be passed on.

  • excellent, great job! I wait that bush, and so many other tyrants, pay for his crimes

  • Nice one Jan. You hit the nail bang on it's head with this. Good to hear the state-side slant on things. Keep 'em comin'

  • excellent - good old folk tradition & protest still alive & kicking - Good stuff Jan. It's a shame the Masters of War can not learn from the Past or there Mistakes - Thank God For People like your self & our uncle Bob

  • Vietnam Vet here .....America never learns does it?

  • very good job! get the truth out there.

  • Dylan would find value in this, I think, and that's the highest praise I can give. Kudos!

  • Very nice! ;)

  • Excellent blues.

I think the real Saddam died in 99 and the family kept the farce alive for the invasion.

The invasion force was poised to attack days before 9/11. The Hussein family got asylum in England.

As well Bin Laden was killed in the fall of 2001 and buried in an unmarked grave yet the media keeps the ghost alive to scare the tax dollars out of the gullible sycophants to authority that all profit from war and oppression.

A planet of Faithful "believers" that don't "know" anything.

  • Not a very good singing voice, however, the lyrics are right-on. Five stars for truth alone.

  • Haha, good job, you certainly did not beat around the bush (pardon the pun) with the lyrics and the instruments were performed beautifully.

I think it would be funny to lock Shaun Hannity in a room and blast this song really loud for like 15 hours straight.

  • Thanks, Jimbo. Yes, that would be very funny, I'd love to see that!

  • I like the pun.

  • Number 1 again on Neil Young's "Living With War Today." The cream always rises to the top! How many times is that now? Congrats, Jan!

  • Thanks, Will, your kind words definitely made my day! This vid has spent over a year in or near the Top 10. BTW, "Battle of New Baghdad" is currently #7. --Jan

  • peace & love

  • Nice!

  • GREAT JOB. i hope that someone holds bush acountable for his crimes.

  • Amazing

  • Cool!

A take off of Desolation Row by Bob Dylan.

Impeach Bush/Cheney! The democrats are useless!

    Vote Nader/Gonzalez!

  • A good-ol'-sound for a whole new century of the same ol' human dregs!!!

    -Love this!

    -Maij-

  • Nice !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing lyrics. Very well written. Brilliant!!! :)

  • Glad I found this. Great song and worth every one of those 5 stars.

  • gravel kucinich paul nader

    cynthia mckinney too

    jesse ventura?

    dare speak truth

    demand peace

  • Bravo my friend.

  • Good job, buddy. Nice work. The more we can inform people through creative means of this ongoing, sick war, the better. God bless.

  • Thanks, LastPatriotStanding, and back at ya. Your "4000 and Counting" vid is awesome!

  • And it is worth repeating the heartfelt words of a fellow blogger: "Bush has killed more people, directly or indirectly, than Saddam ever could, methods be damned, and we helped him do it." America now has blood on it's hands from its very own Holocaust. And so the history books get it right: We have the dark soul of George W Bush to thanks for this terrible stain on our "democracy."

  • donnyoh-Indeed!It's horrific isn't it?Aust is also to blame under Howard-he's gone now(YIPPEE!)My heart aches for all the people, not just those who died, but those left behind to live with the horror of seeing loved ones murdered. Thanks for this video.I must confess to having to turn away. What a travesty?Bush & Co made a mockery of the Rule of Law!At least many of us know the truth now!Make sure you vote for at least an articulate Pres next time!Even I'm embarrassed when he speaks!Cringe?

  • You know, I'd say this is the most nauseating statement I've heard. I'm not going to support my CIC, but come now, do you think that weak backed boy from Texas could kill as many as Saddam? Well then I guess you've never seen the mass Graves or listened to the stories of those returning. I've just talked with an E8 AF SGT who had one of his men die of exposure to chemical weapons after uncovering a mass Grave around Baghdad. Tell me now who caused the Holocausts. Grow a back bone. An Iraq Vet

  • What an amazing song...lyrics and melody and performance! 5 big thumbs up and straight into the main playlist on my channel!

  • That was superb, so very well written and so honest some one wrote from the heart, and was wellopinioned, exelent i can see why so many have watched this,10

  • Nice.

  • Great, great, great!!!

  • I was worried I was going to hate this so I didn't watch it for ages. But it's actually really good. You have a lovely voice, made some clever lyric changes and really pulled something off by re-working a Dylan song without making a train wreck. Is that you playing guitar? On a minor note I love the American expression "and that started me to thinkin'.. "

  • What a great song. Thanks for putting it on You Tube. A trillion stars.

  • Thanks, bella! You made my day! And those trillion stars, they light up my nite. --Jan

  • bush never fed people to lions or used vx gas on women and children, saddam did

theres a big differance dont you think?

o yeah and if you wrote a song like this in iraqi saddam would have been okay with it too

  • But he's bombed neighborhoods filled with innocents with million $ "smart" bombs to try to kill Saddam, when they ended up finding him using free eyeballs in hole. He's ordered the US to use some of the same torture methods as Saddam. Hell, the US is still using cluster munitions, DURs, and land mines. He's also sentenced our troops to an unending suicide mission. Bush has killed more people, directly or indirectly, than Saddam ever could, methods be damned, and we helped him do it.

  • Yeah, Scentless, but what about the lions? Bush hasn't fed people to lions yet, you've got to admit that, right?

  • You're right, but wait until he starts pandering to the Lion Tamers and zoo-keeping lobby. Then again, remember the dogs in Abu Ghraib? Wait until they decide they have too many prisoners, and don't want to pay Halliburton to make more rooms.

  • If you count every body uncovered from the Mass Graves in Iraq you won't be so quick to judge. Perhaps you should change your name from Scentless to senseless. We will never know how many people were senselessly murdered by Saddam in his reign of terror. So spare me your rants. That and when you walk the streets of Baghdad and you kick in a door and find munitions you tell me who is innocent. You want to know the truth. Read "Chasing Ghosts" then spew this trash again.

  • 401GR, You are ignorant and a fool. The munitions we are finding in those doors we are kicking in is small arms. Tell me how that poses a security threat to the USA... Secondly Saddam murdered all those people with weapons that we gave him. We stood by and did nothing back then because he was more an ally than enemy against Iran. Learn some history before you talk about it.

  • kill bush!

  • I lived through the Vietnam era, and so your song and its original, left me again in tears of rage, the stupidity of bringing back the same psychopath, Rumsfeld, to dupe the country into another worthless meaningless sacrifice of our kids, this time, for oil.

I hope someday we ride around in cars powered by sun & electric motors, & roofs shine with solar power in the US.

A quart of oil will be in a museum, we'll be out of the Middle East forever.

    Thanks for a great song.

  • to the point!!!

  • Very well done, good performance and very applicable lyrics. Dylan should be proud!

  • Great lyrics-Straight to the point!

  • Pretty impressive... five stars

  • We need to here this song on the radio!!!!

Set up speakers out side of the White House and blast it!!!!

  • Personally, I think Iraq would have been better off with Saddam in power...I know, you'll say, "He killed all those innocent people...", but truthfully, he kept peace between all the different factions......from now on, that place will be full of chaos......even with the new government and Iraqi police.

  • oh sorry, sometimes i am a fool on the hill, i found the information on the right side of the song ...

i am a great dylan fan ....... and i am a great fan of you as well !!!

    rudi

  • i came back here for the second time listening this great performance? do you based the song of the bob dylan original music?

however, you have, as i said before, you have a high quality standard for YT.
