  • do we have to wash it inside out?

  • @whosTryal you don't have to, but it will help the paint last longer

  • Is it washable ? thnx

  • @sagalmibagal As long as you use acrylic or fabric paint, yes, absolutely washable!

  • Great vid ,enjoyed that, thanks

  • Very nice video

  • where do you buy freezer paper at locally?

  • @dimebagcfh I get mine from my local grocery store. It's usually where you find the saran wrap, foil and such.

  • @ofenjen and does it say on the box its freezer paper? because im going to walmart and look for it.

    thanks for the quick reply

  • @dimebagcfh Yes, it says freezer paper. It comes on a roll...and Walmart should have it. Good luck!

  • @ofenjen thanks i picked up some at wallyworld thanks so much!!!!!!

  • @dimebagcfh i got it and it was 5 dollars and some change thanks a million!!!!!

  • what kind of colour are you using ?

  • @VisneCrew2009 This particular color was Crimson Red Lumiere paint by Jacquard.

  • What kind of paint/ink this?

  • @makkaluki The paint used in this video is Lumiere by Jacquard.

  • @ofenjen Thank you!

  • Name of this song plz

  • @909Barber It's Vampire by People In Planes.

  • Thanx so much!

    I'm gonna try it later!:D

  • @iloveAn5gellica Awesome, have fun with it!

  • @itsmarshmallowz Yep, I do that, too. This one just happened to be for someone else and it was easiest done in Photoshop.

  • What happens if u wash it

  • @XRadiokillaX Not a thing if you use good paint. I've got a t-shirt I stenciled in 2007 and it still looks perfect!

  • @ofenjen ohh and what paint is good paint? like i hhave sum krylon and quick color but idk witch ones to buy

  • @XRadiokillaX I prefer Jacquard textile paints, but there are lots of good inexpensive paints, too. Tulip makes a soft, brush on paint that works really well.

  • @ofenjen ohh ok thanks for the tips

  • Thanks!!

  • @MrsAllyBieber143 Oh gosh, it's been so long ago, I don't remember! You can get the stencil for free on my website, Sewhooked. Look under free - crafts - stencils. Hope that helps!

  • Oh sweet Jesus... should be called "how to ruin a t-shirt".

  • what a lame t-shirt

  • What happens if you wash it?

Will the paint come off or fade?

  • @DeeDank It will fade some over time, but I have shirts that I stenciled two or three years ago and they still look great!

  • WtF Team Edward -_0

  • how much is the typical roll of freezer paper? Im very interested in stenciling now

  • @enocvargas You can usually find a roll for $4 or $5. It's really inexpensive and a roll lasts forever!

  • did you put the freezer paper directly in the printer or did you print the design then trace onto the freezer paper?

  • @kbranders I put it directly into the printer. My printer is pretty picky, so I feed it through a single piece at a time.

  • did you put the freezer paper directly in the printer or did you print the design then trace onto the freezer paper?

  • wow that was the best =) i love it!

  • out of all how to make your own t-shirt vids this is the best well done

  • @DYLZA171 Oh gosh, I don't know about that, but I did have fun making it. Thanks!

  • WOW, that is really well done. Wish I had the patience.

  • @buchsdrn Thanks! I find it to be kind of zen once I get started. Lots of fun!

  • It's called wax paper.

  • Thank you for sharing this simple tutorial!

  • @NoemieLeigh My pleasure!

  • can i print anything on this paper with my printer b4 cutting it out?

  • @emobboy94 Yeah, absolutely! I use it all the time for other projects besides stenciling, too.

  • @ofenjen i cnt find any freezer paper in my stores. is there any other name to it?or is there anything else i can use?btw is baking paper the same?

    thx...

  • @emobboy94 Freezer Paper is the only name I know for it. Baking paper is not the same. Freezer paper has a light wax coating on one side. If you can't find that, you can also use regular paper or card stock and then use a temporary spray adhesive on the back to hold it in place while you stencil.

  • freezer paper is not commonly found here in Brisbane Australia but i get it from a place that specializes in material and other things for patchwork quilting - maybe there is some kind of shop like that near you

  • what size blade did you use?

  • @mouselebee I used a #11. :)

  • y do i have to use freezer paper? can i use regular paper?

  • @Xx0hemgeexX You can, but it won't keep the paint from bleeding like freezer paper does. Freezer paper has wax on the back, so it sticks when you iron it on.

  • @ofenjen can i print my picture on the freezer paper?

  • Is the freezer paper see through?

  • @stevevillanueva No, not really, but if i you need to see through, it you can use a light box or hold it up to a window or light.

  • the best video ever

  • This is exactly what I was looking for! The only bummer is now I don't have any requests for your TTMT. Maybe something will come to mind eventually.

This tutorial was brilliant! The music made the whole thing! I was jammin'. :D

  • @jentan80 You know, I have been thinking about redoing this video with voice instead of text. I wasn't doing TTMT when I posted this and hadn't done a voice video yet. Might be something for the future!

  • BEUTIFUL HANDS

  • Vann Helsen Luvs this video......Great Work.......Never tried it this way! Thanks

  • When you designed "Team Edward" did you print it out from the computer or hand written? Also where can you buy the freezer paper? And one more where did you buy the paint and your foam brush? Thank you!

  • wats the song?

  • It's "Vampire" by People In Planes.

  • so is the shiny side facing up or down?

  • Your image goes on the matte side and you iron the shiny side to the fabric.

  • where can i buy freezer paper

  • it should be with the aluminum foil at any grocery store

  • @techdecklord32 Whatz matte mean???? does it face up or down???

  • matte means the one that not shining...

  • um can u reuse the same paper for more shirts

  • If you're really careful, you can usually get two or three shirts out of one stencil.

  • Great idea, and I love the song! :)

  • Thanks! I discovered the song here on YouTube and it's since become one of my favorites.

  • Is the stencil reusable?

  • If you're really careful, you can usually get 2 or 3 uses from one stencil. If you want to do that, I'd recommend skipping the glitter.

  • Mhm, also - I couldn't not find any freezer paper, so I bought bristol board

For letters like "D" which have a white space in the middle, how would I secure it in place? Glue, tape?

Thanks - and that's an awesome shirt

  • If you use the freezer paper, you can just iron the piece you cut out right into the center. That's my preferred method, but you can also make bridges from the main part of the letter, leaving a tiny sliver of freezer paper so the small piece stays attached to the rest of the stencil.

  • i like edward

  • yup yup im a TEAM EDWARD!!!!!!!!!

  • im so going to do this!!!!!!

  • I hope you do, it's easy, cheap and pretty!

  • OMG that looked awesome I am going to try this

  • Thanks, I hope you do try it, it's lots of fun!

  • what kind of paint is best to use so that it wont come out in the wash?

  • Any fabric paint will work, but I especially like Lumiere by Jacquard.

  • Which Side DO You Put The Iron On?

The Plastic Side, Or The Paper Side?

  • You put the plastic side to the fabric and iron the paper side.

  • this isn't working for me. the screen is black and it says 0:00/0:00 in the corner.

  • Hum, well, give it another try. It came on right away for me. I hope it works for you this time!

  • What an incredible tutorial!!! The only thing I can't figure out is how the plastic from the freezer paper doesn't leave a mark on the shirt. Guess I'll figure it out, because I'm doing this PRONTO!!!

  • I can't tell you why it doesn't, but I've never had a problem and I've made oodles of stuff with this technique!

  • well, thanks again !!! Can't wait to try this out. You make it look easy.

  • where can u get a X-acto knife?

  • You can find them at any craft or hobby store, hardware stores and sometimes the supermarket. :)

  • this is an awesome tut lol simple too hahah good job haha gotta try this out my self lol

  • if you make a tshirt like that, can you wash it?

  • Yep, you sure can!

  • Is freezer film the same as freezer paper?

  • I think freezer film is closer to plastic wrap. Freezer paper is paper with a thin plastic coating on one side that will temporarily stick to fabric when ironed. Hope that helps!

  • wow! is it washer and dryer safe? good job btw =^.^=

  • Use textile paints

  • Absolutely washer and dryer safe! I use Lumiere paint by Jacquard and it's intended for fabrics.

  • BOO TWILIGHT. Good tut though

  • Comment removed

  • that is wicked cool as!

where exactly would you buy freezer paper? is it from a craft store or a supermarket or something?

and thanks so much for the tutorial, the shirt looks ah-mazing:)

im so gonna make one of these:)

    cept team jake lol.

    thanks,

    xx

  • You can find freezer paper in grocery store where you'd find aluminum foil.

My daughter is Team Werewolf and I'm Switerzerland, so I've made loads of different designs this way. :D

  • Sweet! I've been interested in making my own designs on clothes lately, the only shirts I can find that are flattering are BORING!

  • Awesome, then I hope this helps!

  • omg!!! this totally helps!

  • Yay, I'm glad!

  • team Wesley!!!

  • How do shirts made like this fair in the wash? Would they be ok in the washer, or should they be hand-washed to keep the design intact?

  • I've found that they wash very well. The paint does soften and fade a little with time, so if that's something you don't want, I'd suggest air drying yours.

  • Thanks very much. That should work fine.

  • Great video!! And....LOVE THAT SONG!!!

  • where do you get the poly glitter?

  • I get mine at Hobby Lobby, but you can also order it online. Just search for "Poly Flake Glitter."

  • hey whats the differance with freezer paper?? can you just use normal paper or card?? i really wana do the gryffinfor t shirt your stencils are great.

  • Freezer paper has a wax on the back that temporarily sticks to the fabric when you iron it on. You can use paper or card, but you have to be really, really careful or use temp spray adhesive.

  • thanks

  • Freezer paper has a "shiny" side that sticks to the tshirt when ironed so you have a stencil that won't move :)

  • Can you sell these on ebay?? they look awesome!!

  • Thanks! I wanted to make some t-shirts for all of my family members for my son's All-Star baseball game and the iron-on stickers were expensive and only came with 1 set of the alphabet...this is a great video for exactly what I was hoping to do instead. I've NEVER tried this...and you made it very easy and clear to understand. I just hope I have time to do this!

    Thanks!

  • What an awesome project! Good luck, I hope you're able to finish in time. :D

  • some people who stencil their t shirts make it look really simple and kind of boring but you with the glitter made it look pro.

  • Thanks! Any excuse to add a little sparkle to a project!

  • quick question can you use the stencil again if i want to make multiple number of shirts...

  • If you're super-careful with your stencil, you can use it a couple of times. If not, try layering several sheets of freezer paper and cutting out more than one stencil at a time. It works great if you tape the paper together with masking tape. If you need loads of shirts, I'd go for screen printing. There are some great how-to videos of how to DIY.

  • This is awesome! Im gonna try it soon :D

A question though; how long would the shirts last? like after how many washes before they peel/fade, if they do?

  • This particular paint washes really well. It does fade eventually, but it takes on a nice worn t-shirt look, not a cracked and fading sad stencil!

  • anou, is it the same as the paper in the stickers??haha.

  • Hey.

I live in the UK and I was searching for Freezer Paper in stores, etc but they say there is no such thing...

Is there anything else I could use as a stencil?

  • thats a nice T what kind of paint are u useing on it?

  • Thanks. It's Lumiere metallic fabric paint.

  • I couldn't find any 'freezer paper' at the store...is it the same as 'wax paper'?

  • Oh no, not the same! Freezer paper is matte on one side and has a plastic finish on the other that will temporarily stick when you iron it. It's usually with the aluminum, wax paper and such at the grocery store. You can also find it in sheets at craft and fabric stores, but it's more expensive that way.

  • what is the song playing in the backround ?

  • It's Vampire by People In Planes.

  • thanks! :)

  • My pleasure! It's an awesome song...love their stuff. :)

  • I've watched the tutorial a couple times now, and I'm off to get my supplies to make a "Ministry of Silly Walks" shirt for the British boyfriend! Yay!

  • YAY!

That's one of my favorites of all the stencils I've done. I really hope he likes it...and you know *cough* friends of sewhooked challenges... Wink, wink, nudge, nudge...

  • Can you wash it?

  • Absolutely, just follow the paint manufacturer's instructions.

  • can i use lacquer or acrylic spray paint?

  • I've never tried lacquer, so I can't answer that, but spray paint will definitely work. When you do that, make sure the only thing showing is the part you want to stencil to protect from overspray and you should only need one coat.

  • hi tenks 4 the reply, can i ask can i use a latex paint coz here in the phils. its hard 2 find spray paint.can i use freezer paper as an stencil guide?thanks!

  • Latex paint should work okay, but I haven't tried it. Even acrylic craft paint will work in a pinch. Freezer paper works great as a stencil guide. :)

  • Thankyou, this really helps alot!!

My last attempt at a Cullen Crest shirt failed epicly because everything kept moving, but the freezer paper is sure to help.

    Thanks again!

  • My pleasure! The Cullen Crest is a tough one and takes lots of patience, but the freezer paper makes a HUGE difference. Good luck!

  • Is freezer paper sticky or something? I don't understand how you can keep the islands/middle of the D and A from moving. Is the iron makeing the paper stick to the shirt? Please let me know I realy want to make my own shirts too:] bye

  • Freezer paper has wax on the back and will stick when you iron it. It peels right off when you're done. Good luck with your stenciling!

  • make a bridge for all the other islands to not just A

  • I actually prefer not to use bridges at all and only showed A as an example for those that might prefer to use them.

  • Yaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX EDWARD ROX i am sooo gonna do this

  • google "twilight crafts" ...we have a group on livejournal!

  • *big smiles* Thank you so much! I was looking for DIY screen printing specifically to make team edward shirts and your video was near the top of my search.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!!

  • My pleasure!

  • What type of paper did you use?

  • Freezer paper. ;)

  • I´ve never heard of it, but thanks :)

  • It usually found with the aluminum foil and plastic wrap at the supermarket. It has a wax back side that will temporarily stick to fabric when ironed on. I hope that helps!

  • It did, thank you kindly.

  • I love Edward!!!! If ur talking about the Edward from twilight.

  • Yep, this was made for a Twilight swap.

  • Sketch book paper won't stick like freezer paper will. Freezer paper has wax on the back, so ironing with a warm iron creates a temporary bond, which is what makes it an excellent choice for stenciling.

  • Just wondering where I could purchase freezer paper? Thanks...

  • Freezer paper is available in most supermarkets. Check where the aluminum foil, wax paper and stuff like that is.

  • so wal mart should have it?

    am i right xD

  • Yep, they should.

  • so, can i use sketch book paper? like, will the ironing mess it up?

    thanks.

  • THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

    this helps a lot!!!

    [[:

  • what is this song x) ?

  • It's called "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers.

  • argh.. i wana make it, but i don't have the materials.....

  • I hope you can get your hands on some so you can make yourself one!

  • where do you get the freezer paper??

  • You can find it at the grocery store near the aluminum foil.

  • omg thank you so much this has helped so much i have been looking for a way to make my breaking dawn shirt for this friday. you have been a great help thanks :)
