Kids will be hit by the shock of a SHTF scenario the most. All your prepping and every aspect of your prepping should be done with the children. Explaining everything you are doing will help with there transition. TY for sharing PEACE
i had a dream on a shtf world ..even the preppers were sol (can u make a new piston seal for that genarator)?
it was totally something i would not like to see ever...it was dog eat dog ..kids running in the streets with no parents, people abduction other people , wondering where will that next cup of clean water will come from(parking lot puddles have oil in it)
know who goes first at a car intersection (with no electric) the guy holding the gun out the window saying im going first..
The fIrst thing I prepped was solar panel which operate the aims 8k/16k power invertver off the battery bank, primary purpose is to operate a submersible well pump. Water is not an issue. We own a goat farm , and raise a garden. If SHTF more family members would show up here armed, and I would increase the garden into the size of a small farm. Some folks are well prepared for major events due to their lifestyles. When SHTF I'll miss the peace and quite around here.I won't miss the cities at all!
@wwclay86 Oh yes they do - they are just hiding it to deceive us. Their goal is to so overhwlem us we cannot possibly win. 200 million of their troops against 300 million of us and we will lose. They could lose all 200 million and it wouldn't even dent their population. If we lose 200 million, game over. Thanks to all you population control freaks that bought into the lie. The death of the west is here!
I have the huge bucket of prepacked sunflower seeds to keep their mouths busy! When would the best time be to cook indoors or outdoors early in the morning at 4 or 5 am or late at night like at midnight? We don't want people to know we have food.
To keep everyone on target rather then leting them get bored do things such as teaching sewing clothes, bedding, teach cooking, garden, lrn an instrum music, read, the art of conversation, make wine, soap, candles, keeping chickens, carpentry & other skills etc. Play games like write stories, jornals etc. They did it before us & it may be time to go to basics. Time to get creative & use our God given brains. This may finally wake our young to give them the skills they wil need to survive.
This is one area where the average bachelor preppers have an advantage where meals in tins is concerned, nothing to get used to food wise when shtf, I found myself in trouble at the start of my last relationship getting used to real food lol but then again im British and we are not supposed to know squat about food, i can cook properly but doing it for one seems a chore after a days work.
have them work on thier fighting skills make them aquire some extra water by cleaning and treating it themselves and to pick wild edibles to have extra food after they train. I suggest primitive weapon skills knife definately spear and stick. The fillipinos are a good place to start learning search arnis de mano. These are tools only just like a gun is a tool as you know and every tool has its place. My kids will be armed with hidden razors knives anything they can perfect as well as thier guns.
@theeastwatch I agree. I am thinking of getting some peanuts and things like that for the kids to munch on. Not sure, but I do see it as a possible issue.
@Carrie3570 NAW get the kids a exercise bike and a loom, when they say their hands hurt , make them generate electricity, when they are tired send them to the bike, if they are sore and tired...BEDTIME!

This whole thing makes me glad I have NO kids. Also, people need to stop popping out kids, quite honestly. This is not a time to be having kids.

Have your family not shower for a week and then take away their toilet paper. No trash collection, backed up sewers.
Yep.... better prepare.
